"Come here you." Kidd Said, picking Amelia up. "Let's go see who we can find." She said walking towards the door.
"Will Josh be alright?" Amelia Asked, looking over Kidd's shoulder to where Kelly was talking to Josh.
"I'm sure he'll be fine." Kidd Said as they began to make their way down the corridor.
"He didn't think anyone would find us, but I knew you guys would." Amelia Said, laying her head on Kidd's shoulder.
"We'll always be here for you kid." Kidd said as they began to descend the stairs, Severide following them down to 20 whilst Casey finished checking 25.
"Hey, Paxson! Paxson! I need to get in 20B! Can you take me there?" Severide called as he walked out onto the fire floor.
"We're low on air!" Paxon replied, holding the raging flames back as well as he could.
"I got a young boy trapped inside solo!" Severide explained.
"We'll get you in, but my guys need relief!" Paxon said.
"Hey Chief, I'm getting the victim on the fire floor, but 37 needs relief on this side line." Severide said into his radio.
"I've just finished on 25." Casey's voice came through the radio.
"I'm on 18." Kidd said.
"Meet Kelly on 20." Chief ordered.
"Copy." Kidd said, putting Amelia down and looking up and down the stairwell. "Mouch!" She called, seeing the firefighter sat on the stairs a few floors below. "Take her down to Cheif." She said. "I'm gonna go help get Josh, you need to go downstairs with Mouch okay."
"Okay." Amelia said.

"Hey, Josh, where are you?" Kelly called as he finally made it into the apartment. "Josh!" He called out again when he didn't get a reply.
"Over here!" A voice called between coughs.
"Hey, bud!" Kelly said as he reached the young boy. "Come on. Let me get you out of here." He said, picking the boy up and heading back towards the door. "Hey. It's getting a little crazy out there, but we'll get through it, okay?" He reassured Josh as the young boy cowered away at the sight of the flames.
"Okay." Josh said with a small nod.
"Hey 37, we're coming out. You ready?" Kelly said holding his radio.
"Negative! We're pulling back! Stay where you are!" Paxon replied within seconds.
"What does that mean?" Josh asked nervously.
"Don't worry. Help's coming. All right." Kelly said, putting the boy down on the opposite end of the apartment to the door. "Hang on a sec." Kelly said pulling a bookshelf in front of the door. "Hey 37, what's your ETA? It's getting a little stuffy in here." He said through the radio.
"The fire is pushing us back!" Paxon stated.
"Come on!" Kelly cursed.
"Cavalry's arrived." Casey's voice came over the radio.
"Sit tight, Kelly!" Kidd said moments later.
"Hey, Casey, Kidd, I hate to complain, but I got a young boy here." Kelly said, watching the bookshelf go up in flames.
"This thing is a beast! We're coming as fast as we can!" Casey replied.
"This isn't working. I'm gonna bail out." Kelly stated.
"Kelly, don't do anything stupid!" Kidd said, trying even harder to combat the flames.
"Second line is on its way! What are you gonna do?" Casey asked.
"What's happening?" Josh asked, cowering in the corner.
"I don't want to wait and see if they can get to us before the fire does. So we're gonna perform what's called a self-rescue." Kelly began to explain as he prepared to do the procedure. "Don't worry. I've done this a bunch. And when we're all done, you'll have a hell of a story to tell your friends." He said, tying a rope to a radiator. "All right, come here. Your job is to hold onto me. My job is to hold onto the rope." Kelly showed him. "You got it?" He asked.
"I hold onto you." Josh said nodding slowly, his small frame clearly shaking.
"And don't let go." Kelly added as he dropped out of the window.
"No way." Josh said nervously.
"Keep your eyes closed." Kelly added. "You got it?" Josh nodded slightly. Kelly was just breaking the glass when Casey's voice came over the radio.
"Mayday, mayday! Kidd is down! I need assistance on 20! Mayday, mayday!" Severides heart dropped.
"I've got him, lieutenant." Capp said, appearing from nowhere.

"Jay!" Amelia called, spotting her brother anxiously waiting at the bottom of the stairs.
"Hey, kid." Jay said, taking her from Ritter. "That's a nasty cough you've got there." He said as she coughed a few times.
"Oh thank God." Mouse said, rushing over to them. "Mia." He said, taking the girl from Jay.
"Mouse." Amelia said laying her head on his shoulder.
"Did they find him?" Mouse asked Jay, Jay shook his head.
"Hey, Mia, why don't we go see Will and Nat and get that cough looked at." Erin said taking the girl, knowing that neither of the guys would be willing to leave until they'd seen Pat. "One of you call Voight and update him." She said as she walked away.
"I was really scared." Amelia said, laying her head on Erin's shoulder.
"It's alright now, I promise I won't leave your side until Mouse and Jay are back." Erin said, placing the girl into her car.

"I'm sorry, you need to take a seat." A nurse said to Erin as she carried Amelia into the ED. "We are really busy right now but someone will get to you as soon as we can." Erin stood for a minute, contemplating using her position as a police officer to get them in but she didn't need to as Maggie walked out, looking for someone's family member.
"Maggie!" Erin called, rushing over to the nurse.
"Erin, is everything okay?" Maggie asked, looking at the young girl she didn't know who was sat in Erin's arms covered in ash and soot.
"Is Will or Nat free?" Erin asked. "I just want to get Mia checked over, she was in the fire."
"So this is the famous Amelia." Maggie said, smiling at the girl. "Will has just finished up with a patient so I'm sure he can fit his little sister in, follow me."
"You stay there, I'll be right outside okay." Erin said, sitting Amelia on the bed.
"What's happened? Maggie said she was in the fire in dads building?" Will asked, rushing over to Erin.
"He took her from school, Jay and Mouse have stayed at the scene to try and find him and tell Hollie." Erin explained.
"Hey, Mia." Will said, walking into the hospital room, followed by Erin. "I heard you tried to follow in Hollie's footsteps." He joked lightly. "How are you feeling?" He asked, placing the stethoscope to he chest.
"I keep coughing and my wrist hurts." Amelia said.
"Her breathing's irregular so we'll set her up with a nasal cannula." He told Erin and the nurse. "You said your wrist hurts, can you show me where?" Will asked, turning back to Amelia.
"There, when I try and move it." Amelia said, pointing to the joint
"its swollen, and looks like its bruising." Will said, holding her wrist gently. "Looks like a grade one sprain so we'll get her a splint."
"Thanks, doc." Erin said.
"Is Josh okay?" Amelia asked.
"Josh?" Erin asked.
"He was in the fire, Kelly said he would go and help him." Amelia explained.
"I'll be on the lookout for him." Will assured. "I have some other patients to see but the nurse will get her on the nasal cannula and set up the brace and show her how to use it." Will said, excusing himself.
