Chapter 20 :: dtd 22.01.2019
"You bloody beggar. How dare you ruin my dress?"
Sheetal's angry voice did shook Khushi's recently progredsing emotions. Her hazel eyes began to moist up.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Sheetal shouted on Khushi. That's when someone showed away Sheetal's hand that had came forward to grab Khushi.
Aman had send Tina to his cabin to check on Khushi some minutes back. When Tina arrived she saw a drenched Sheetal throwing daggers to Khushi. Deciding it was better to inform Aman than intervene the situation, Tina ran back to conference room and told Aman about the situation in a breath.
When Aman reached his cabin he saw Sheetal trying to get physical with Khushi. He quickly went to shield Khushi.
Sheetal looked towards the one who came between her and her new prey.
There stood Aman Mathur possessed with ASR's soul.
"Don't! Not an inch more not a word more."
Aman shouted on the top of his voice that shook the whole AR.
He felt someone flinch at his shout. He felt her grabbing and gripping the back of his coat. He turned around to Khushi.
Khushi had shut her eyes in fear, her eyelids moist.
"Khushi?" He called.
When she opened her eyes, he noticed the teary eyes of Khushi. Aman might not have spend much time with Khushi, he might not have seen a laughing not even a smiley Khushi. But, then and there he understood he can never bear the sight of her innocent hazel orbes all teared up. He cupped her cheeks and wiped out the tears. She moved closer to him.
"Aman,..." Sheetal began only to get interrupted by another shout from Aman
"Didn't I asked you to Shut up?"
Then he felt Khushi flinch again.
"Sheetal, get out now! I will deal with you later. Out!." Aman said trying his level best to not shout again.
Sheetal had no other choice than to leave then. And she left throwing another disgusted glare towards Khushi.
The whole of AR was outside Aman's cabin watching the drama. "Back to work all of you."
Khushi hid her face in Aman's chest, whimpering.
"Shh, it's okay Khushi. See nothing happened."
"Bhai.." came Khushi's whimper.
Aman felt his heart clenching.
"Ha, I am your bhai dear. Everything is fine." He said caressing her.
He brought Khushi to the sofa and sat down besides her. He wiped her face and offered water. When he saw Khushi is better, he looked around the cabin. He saw many rockets all around the floor. And some still stacked on his table.
"Wow, you made all these?" He asked pointing them to distract her. She nodded yes.
"Do I also get to launch some?" He asked smiling at her innocence. She gave him the ones kept on his table.
"Let's do together. Here you too have some. You know Khushi, I and Lav also used to launch many like this when we were in school. I used to launch them to her piggy tails or pony tails and she, she put hers inside my shirt through my collar. How much I missed those days.!" He said sighing remembering good old days. He looked at Khushi who was watching him launching them, too far than hers.
"Oh none more?" Aman asked Khushi showing his now empty hands.
Khushi noticed she too had none left. She stood up to take more papers to make more rockets.
"Khushi, it's okay. Let's go home now. We will make more when we reach home. What say?"
Khushi nodded smiling.
"You go and wash your face and hands. And wait here ok? I will be right back."
When Khushi went in to fresh up, Aman dialed Tina.
"Tina, I am leaving for today. Do the necessary with the conference. And update me. Send someone to clean up my cabin. Ask him to stack up all the rockets in a carton and keep it aside. Don't throw them away." He said launching one which he took up from floor.
When Khushi came they packed their things and left for RM.
On their way to RM, Aman haulted for lunch and then by an ice cream parlour. He took her in and bought a big tub, one of Khushi's choice.
Then they went to park for her usual stroll.
When they reached RM around 6pm, both went to freshen up.
"Khushi you freshen up and rest for sometime. Come down when you are done okay?"
When she came down, she hear some noises from kitchen.
"Hey, you came? Come hop up." He said patting the platform near to him."
When he saw her finding difficulty in hopping as he said, he smiled and made her sit.
"I am making pasta. Is that okay for dinner? Or you want me to order something else from outside?"
"Pasta." Khushi replied in low voice.
"Ok then. I am about to finish."
The making and having dinner finished up with some blabberings from Aman about his friendship tales of the trio. Him , Arnav and Lavanya. Just the happy memories. Khushi hummed now and then in reply.
After dinner, Aman took her to watch 'Boss baby' which while surfing for cute films he found on internet.
He noticed how now and then Khushi would look towards him whenever the sibling's to and fro pranks was shown in the film.
When the baby came back to his brother in the end of the movie, Khushi's eyes again teared up.
"Atlast the baby came back to his brother na. Then why are you crying? It's a happy ending. So smile" Aman said wiping her tears. This time Aman himself pulled her into a hug.
After some minutes he heard her snoring lightly.
He smiled and carried her to Arnav's room. He pulled over the blanket on her.
"Goodnight Khushi." He turned to leave and noticed Khuhsi getting restless in her sleep.
"Hey it's ok dear. Sleep. Bhai is here." He pulled the recliner near to her bed and lightly patting her head he too dosed off.
Lavanya and an impatient Arnav entered RM around midnight using the spare key.
"Arnie, shake it off okay. And keep quite. Don't wake up them. I bet Khushi would be in deep sleep. Aman was here na."
"Lav, this is not fair. It's been more than 19 hours since I saw Khushi. Just because you held me back I had to wait in that damn airport even though I reached here 3 hours before."
"Haww Arnie! How rude! Waiting for me to arrive back was waste of time for you? You don't love me anymore." Lav pouted pulling a sulking face.
"Lav, cut it okay. Don't fake it."
"Ok ok. Come let's check on your Khushi. Aman would be up still working.I wonder how his day went with Khushi. How he managed her." She said giggling.
"I hope your plan worked. One more thing I am never going to do this again. You have no idea how my day went."
"Hmm."
When they entered his room, they saw Khushi sleeping peacefully while Aman still patting her head lightly in his sleep.
"Arey Wah! This progress that too in a day. Nice. Good job, Lavanya Kashyap. I am so proud of me" Lavanya patted her own shoulder.
When Arnav was about to wake Aman up, Lav forbid.
"Let him sleep here tonight."
"No way Lav. I want to stay beside my Khushi. And why is he even sleeping here?"
He turned and shook Aman.
"Aman wake up."
"Arnie stop behaving like a stubborn brat."
"No. Aman wake up dammit." He shook Aman again.
"What is it Arnie? Let me sleep" Aman said in half sleep.
"Go and sleep in your room, Aman."
"Uff. Arnie, you won't even let me sleep in peace."
Arnav pulled a stil sleepy Aman from the recliner.
"I said go to your room, Aman."
"Ok ok. I am going."
Kissing a sleepy Khushi on her forehead Aman left the room, leaving an amused Lav and an anoyyed Arnav.
"Now you too go, Lav."
He said wiping Aman's kiss off Khushi and kissing her again on her forehead.
"Oh God! Now what is this new drama?" Lavanya muttered watching Arnav's antic.
While leaving, she heard him muttering something like 'trying to steal his Khush'.
