3rd Person POV
"Y/N, we're talked about this."
"Listen, he was getting really close to you."
"You've said that about every person that I've spoken to for the last ten games."
"Eh, even so, this guy was staring at you."
"He briefly glanced at me."
Kokichi Oma, the SHSL Supreme Leader and the ring leader of the Danganronpa Franchise stared at the bleeding body of Shuichi Saihara in front of him. Y/N had a bad habit of stabbing to death anyone who so much as looked at Kokichi. They'd been hosting the Danganronpa Killing Games for a while as a team, but Y/N always ended up being 'executed'. Some fans figured her out pretty quickly. "Oh, during this execution, the camera cuts a millisecond too late, giving Y/N enough time to escape the trap and not die! They'll be back next season!"
Still, Kokichi didn't mind. It kept the fans invested and him trusting of her, so it was worth it.
"Now, what are our rules?" Kokichi asked over-patronisingly.
They sighed. "Don't kill unless you're going to get exposed."
"And what did you do?"
"Stop him from exposing us. He was a smart dude, so he would have caught us one way or another!"
Kokichi thought about her logic. "Eh, I guess I can see your point." He patted her on the shoulder and then kissed her on the cheek. "Come on, Y/N, we've got a body to dispose of."
See, contrary to popular belief, Monokuma never took care of the corpses. That was the mastermind's job. As the credits would roll on each season of DR, there'd be clips of the masterminds dragging bodies through hallways. A lot of the fans liked seeing their deceased husbandos and waifus one last time. So, as Kokichi had said, him and Y/N had their work cut out for them.
They never just stabbed them. They'd be super gory about it, wanting to please Kokichi's twisted need for creative curious or intelligent murders and deaths. So, lots of blood to deal with.
And it was barely going morning in the cafeteria.
Kokichi picked up Shuichi by the legs. "You get the arms, and we'll carry him to the mastermind's HQ. We could maybe leak some pictures of us with Shuichi to the fans? Y'know, fanservice."
"Sounds fun. Who should we frame?"
"Well, since it's the first blood perk, what about... Rantaro? He was a mysterious dude."
The agreement was made. Leak to fans, frame Rantaro, change into clean clothes, relax.
Shuichi was surprisingly heavy but the HQ wasn't far, so they left his body inside to be hopefully destroyed by a Monokuma or Monokub. So long as they brought the body to the HQ, Monokuma would take things from there.
Then, there was the blood to deal with. They soon realised that there would simply not be enough time to clean the blood. Instead, Kokichi and Y/N had to improvise.
Kokichi shoved Y/N to the ground, amongst the blood. Surprised, Y/N looked up at him. He grinned mischievously. "I'm going to pretend to kill you. So... I need to ask something of you. I need to cut you."
Y/N's eyes widened. "Wh-What? You're kidding, right?"
"It's... it's easiest way."
Y/N hesitantly nodded. They trusted Kokichi. He wouldn't kill them. Just make it look like he tried to. Then... frame Rantaro.
Kokichi had retrieved a knife from the kitchen. As he pressed the blade to their skin, he realised that his plan would fail. He couldn't pass Shuichi's blood as their own. He couldn't pretend like he'd tried to kill them.
The reason?
He simply couldn't bring himself to hurt them.
"Kokichi? What's taking so long? Just do it, I'm ready."
Kokichi dropped the knife. He sighed, his eyes prickling with guilty tears that he'd even considered such a plan. "...I guess this season will just have to fall flat. We'll have to axe them all. A wasted season, sure, but... I don't want to hurt you."
Y/N winced at his words. "No, Kokichi, honestly, I don't mind."
Kokichi kissed her, blood be damned.
"Monokuma, I need a hand."
Monokuma appeared in a poof of smoke. "I already heard your little angst-show and all I can say is that next season better be pretty damn impressive."
"It will be, we promise." Kokichi said. "Go send out a bunch of Monokumas. The first blood perk is over and we need to get everybody in this academy killed."
He lifted Y/N up from the blood and kissed her again. "You're so much better than a stupid game. But seriously, knock off the whole yandere thing, alright?"
She sniffed. Kokichi had never been so expressive towards her before.
"No promises, but I'll try my best."
