I long for the field of lilac,
Under the night blue sky.
And nature's flashing light, fireflies,
dancing round me.
The stars,
though they be white,
are still very bright.
Those fields of purples,
With their sweet smells,
Caress me within your familiar embrace.
And songbirds,
sing to me in your soprano tone,
Lull me into a sleep as deep as a winter day.
Oh field of lilac,
my safe haven.
How I search for thee upon great end,
For which would be my greater gain if it wasn't hidden so far away.
