The giant was shocked and mad as it was probably the first time he was threatened by someone. He simply wanted to launch a counter-attack as he was extremely mad. However, as he was about to take his action, he discovered that his wrists had been tied with something...

Suddenly, the Heaven Halberd fell from his hand!

The golden giant was shocked and did not know how to respond.

He turned around and saw a boy who was sitting on the head of his vehicle. The boy was wearing a light blue costume. His features were very handsome, and he had a beautiful body figure. The boy was holding his Heaven Halberd as he smiled happily, "Biggie, it's not healthy to throw a tantrum often you know."

He flicked his fingertip at the Heaven Halberd, "Do you always use this to hurt kids?"

His fingertips were as fair as jade and seemed somewhat fragile. Surprisingly, the Heaven Halberd almost broke into two after he had flicked it gently.

The giant's expression immediately changed!

The Heaven Halberd was extremely strong, and even a mountain could not change its shape, but it had bent into the form of a bow from just a single flick... He could not believe that this kind of Kung Fu existed in the human realm.

The boy looked very young! He had used a very special skill to steal his Heaven Halberd, and every movement and attack he made was precisely accurate. It was the only reason why the giant got tricked.

He was helpless as he had lost his weapon and there was a blade being pointed at him.

Gu Xijiu was surprised that Ying Yannuo had managed to catch up with her speed. As she was about to say something, Ying Yannuo rushed over as he threw the Heaven Halberd away!

While she was still in a stun state, he quickly carried her and flew away.

A ribbon rubbed against their feet and coiled around the Heaven Halberd...

The lady who was riding on the dragon had finally attacked them. She was fast and precise, and the ribbon was even eviler than a poisonous snake as it flew towards Gu Xijiu when her back was exposed to the lady. The ribbon would have successfully coiled around Gu Xijiu's neck if Ying Yannuo had not managed to save her!

The reason Ying Yannuo threw the Heaven Halberd away was so that it would help to slow down the speed of the ribbon by a little, which gave him some time to escape with her.

Ying Yannuo whistled while he was in midair and suddenly a carriage appeared from the clouds. Ying Yannuo and Gu Xijiu dived into the carriage and rolled onto a thick but soft carpet.

Gu Xijiu was lying in Ying Yannuo's arms. There was a nice fragrance lingering around inside the cabin. The smell was familiar but at the same time strange...

Gu Xijiu's heart felt tight as she quickly got up and looked at Ying Yannuo who was lying down beside her, "You..."

This little bastard was strange! He could react even faster than her!

Though his Qing Gong might be worse than hers, he was way too good at judging things! Even people with a spiritual power of level ten might not be able to make such a perfect judgment!

Of course, his odor seemed to have changed again, and she felt nervous when she was close to him. Due to her previous experience of overthinking things, Gu Xijiu did not doubt him, but she honestly felt the little boy was not as simple as he looked.

Ying Yannuo looked pale and awkwardly smiled as he was in a laid down position "I'm so tired. I've spent my last bit of energy already!"

He stretched one of his hands towards her, "Xijiu, you're kinda heavy though. My chest hurts... Come on, help me to get up."

Gu Xijiu was speechless.

She looked at his jade fingers that were pointed at her, "So can we have physical contact now?"

Ying Yannuo did not withdraw his hand but looked at her pitifully, "This is a critical moment, so I feel that it would be no harm to try it occasionally."

Gu Xijiu pretended to be rude and turned around, "I feel that this is not a critical moment."

This person's secondary personality had returned to control the situation, and he liked to act cute. Gu Xijiu was used to his habits. Hence, she did not care much about him.

She had no time to fool around with Ying Yannuo at this moment. She opened the curtains and looked out from the cabin. She shockingly realized that it was the same carriage she had used when she first arrived here and the lion was also the same Flying Lion.

Ying Yannuo seemed to have been well prepared as he got the lion to quietly hide in the clouds when she had jumped off from the carriage...

Otherwise, it would not have been able to save them earlier.

Gu Xijiu looked further away and realized that the lady who was riding on the dragon was not chasing after them. She threw the Heaven Halberd towards the giant and added, "Why should I keep you if you can't even defeat those kids?"

The giant's face turned red as he took the Heaven Halberd from her and answered, "I'm so sorry, Your Majesty."

He shook the Heaven Halberd, and his wild eyes were looking at the direction where Gu Xijiu had escaped. As he was about to chase after them, the young lady continued speaking, "Just forget it, they're just a bunch of naive kids. We should carry on with our important mission instead of wasting time to kill them."

As the young lady saw Gu Xijiu's head popping out of the carriage, she raised her chin, "Little girl, I won't take this personally, but you should leave as soon possible. Don't disturb me from killing the monster!"

Though the lady's voice was clear, she sounded as though she was a high ranked person who was trying to forgive a very naive person.

Gu Xijiu immediately interrupted her, "I don't know what kind of fairy you are, but I'm going to tell you that there are countless of zombies down there! You will release them if you break the wizard barrier! Do you think you can kill all of them by yourself?!"

The young lady was stunned, "Wh...What? Countless zombies..." Before she could finish speaking, the snow land looked as though it a pot of boiling soup as the snowy ground shook while countless zombies tried to escape from beneath the ground.

"Damn it!" Gu Xijiu cursed and guided the carriage down.

The white-clothed zombies were moving very fast, and there were too many of them. In the blink of an eye, they have surrounded the valley and were moving in a specific direction.

Human odor usually aroused this type of zombies, and they could still smell her friends even though they were standing seven to eight kilometers away from the valley. They began to push each other as they rushed towards the small hill...

There were thousands of zombies, and even God could not help Gu Xijiu's friends! Luckily, she was fast enough and stopped the carriage in front of Yan Chen, and her buddies before the group of zombies had rushed up the cliff, "Hurry up! Get on the carriage!"

Yan Chen and the rest quickly hopped into the carriage as they knew that the zombies were indeed powerful. The white-clothed zombies were very fast as some of them had arrived at the cliff in just a few minutes.

The lion tried its best to wave its wings and flew up into the air right before the zombies flooded the cliff.

"Roar! Roar! Roar..." The zombies were roaring angrily underneath.

The cabin of the carriage was very spacious.

The cabin of the carriage was very spacious. However, it felt small when there were eight of them squeezing inside together. All of their bodies were sticking to each other. The worse thing was that the carriage was overloaded. The Flying Lion tried very hard to move the carriage which caused it to vigorously shake as though it was going to fall from the sky anytime soon.

Apparently, Yan Chen and his buddies had not expected so many zombies to rush out altogether. They were all frightened and pale as they looked at the zombies that were scattered all over the valley.

The zombies had surrounded the entire cliff and valley as they began to move aimlessly everywhere since they had lost their target.

Everyone was scared as each zombie was extremely ferocious and possessed very good Kung Fu! Furthermore, there was an area with a dense population somewhere about 50 to 60 kilometers away. It would only take the zombies less than an hour to arrive at the area based on their speed!

Oh gosh! Oh gosh! What now!? Everyone seemed to be thinking about the same thing!

Although all of them were good at killing the zombies, there were indeed too many of them, and there was a big gap in the ratio between humans to zombies!

Furthermore, the zombies were all moving in different directions. There were only a few of them, and they would not be able to make a difference!

The eight of them could not help but look at the culprits in the sky.

Apparently, the young lady on the dragon was also stunned as she thought there was only one ferocious monster hidden underground, but it was, in fact, a large team of military zombies! She launched several attacks at the zombies, and each lightning was able to kill at least one zombie. The dragon started to blow fire out of its mouth angrily to burn the zombies...

Even though the zombies' clothes were burnt by the flames, but they were still alive!! Though their bodies had been burnt and had become as dark as coal, they were all in good condition. The young lady could see countless naked zombies rushing towards her.

Almost all of the zombies were men and they were probably affected by the drugs inside their body as their pubic region was erected, showing signs of excitement. Thus, she saw countless 'king crabs' moving around in front of her, and most of them were horny...

Gosh! What an eye-catching scene!

The lady's face turned dark, and she yelled at her giant servant, "Stop them!"

The giant did not dare to defy her orders. Of course, everyone in the carriage witnessed the scene as well. Yan Chen quickly covered Little Fox's eyes so that she would not be shocked by the dirty scene.

Le Qingxing cursed softly and quickly covered her sister's eyes as well.

However, no one bothered to check on Zhang Chuchu as she was somewhat boyish. She was quite aroused from looking at the naked zombies and said, "Now I know how men's bottom looks like. It is so gross!" Her words attracted multiple glares from the men in the cabin.

Gu Xijiu's eyes were covered by someone's sleeve as well, and she heard Ying Yannuo whisper into her ear, "This is terrible, don't peek!"

Gu Xijiu was speechless. Why would she want to peek? She had seen enough in the modern world!

The light fragrance from his sleeve annoyed her. Hence, she pushed his sleeve away. She realized that the curtain was down and she could not see anything that was happening outside of the cabin.

"Xijiu, please stay here with the rest of the girls. I'll lure the zombies away as we can't afford to let them hurt the residents in the city!"

Ying Yannuo whispered into her ear before he hugged her, "Take good care!"

He then retreated and said, "Follow me if you're a man! Let's bring them towards the northeast direction where there is a huge black swamp... Let's move! I've released a firecracker as a signal to ask for assistance, so our backup should be here soon. When they have arrived, let's kill all of the zombies together! Yan Chen, could you handle those zombies in the northwest region? Le Qingxing, you handle those in the northeast region. I'll handle those in the southwest region...

All of them leaped out from the cabin and headed in their designated direction. In the blink of an eye, the zombies had caught the scent of living humans above their head, and they all wanted to grab Ying Yannuo and his friends. However, Ying Yannuo moved as fast as lightning, and only the tip of his foot touched the zombies' head. He moved more than 20 kilometers away each time he leaped and arrived at the southwest region in no time...

Of course, the zombies wanted to catch him, and they were all running towards him. Although they were running very fast, it was not easy for them to catch him. He was not moving at his fastest speed as he kept a close distance between himself and the zombies so that he could lure them. However, the zombies could never catch him. Therefore, they began running towards the northeast direction...

Yan Chen and Le Qingxing also jumped out from the carriage and executed their mission according to Ying Yannuo's instructions. Both of them were leading a group of zombies that were rushing towards the northwest direction.

The zombies that were initially scattered everywhere were beginning to gather and moved in a specific direction. They were chasing after the three of people who were ahead of them and were moving slowly towards the northwest direction...

Meanwhile, there were only Gu Xijiu, Zhang Chuchu, Little Fox, Le Zixing and Qian Lingyu who was still injured inside the cabin.

Qian Lingyu wanted to jump out from the carriage as well, but Gu Xijiu stopped him, "You can't go!"

Qian Lingyu clenched his fists, "I'm also a man!" He did not want them to look down on him.

"There'll be plenty of opportunities for you to be a man when you're fully recovered!" Gu Xijiu interrupted him. She opened the curtain and looked outside. She realized that a small group of zombies were not following the big group of zombies but instead were rushing straight towards the northeast direction...

Zhang Chuchu also saw it. Her eyes immediately shot opened, "Let me lure those zombies!"

Gu Xijiu pressed on her shoulder, "All of you stay here, let me do it!"

In the blink of an eye, she had arrived in front of the zombies and had successfully caught their attention. She then lured the zombies towards the northwest direction...

It was strange as the zombies normally chased after humans that were in front of them as though they were dogs who had seen a meaty bone.

However, the zombies which Gu Xijiu encountered were rather strange as they seemed to be running away from her as though they were blind whenever Gu Xijiu moved slightly further from them...

Gu Xijiu was cursing silently as her physique was indeed slightly different from an ordinary human. While they were inside the wizard barrier, the zombies never took any initiative to attack her, and she did not bump into many zombies as well when she was investigating the abandoned town. She thought she was lucky, but it seemed like that was not the case.

It was considered as a good thing that her physique was not attractive to the zombies. However, it was terrible given her current situation as the zombies seemed to have given her the cold shoulder and refused to follow her.

She was in a hurry and decided to cut her palm. The blood began to drip, and the smell finally attracted the zombies to chase after her again... However, there was limited amount blood, and her wound started to coagulate after she had run for a few minutes. Thus, the zombies eventually stopped chasing her again.

She frowned and just as she was about to cut herself again, someone appeared in front of her and held her wrist. She raised her head and saw Ying Yannuo. He looked helpless, "I knew you wouldn't listen to me! I should've put you to sleep in the carriage!"

He was running and holding her hand at the same as he talked, and soon the zombies behind them had combined to form a bigger group now...

His warm palm held onto her wrist as they ran. Gu Xijiu peeked at him and somehow felt that he looked similar to Si Chen...

She shook her head vigorously so that she could get the thoughts out of her head. She had been tested him several times, and she was sure that he was not Di Fuyi. It was indeed unnecessary for her to continue suspecting him.

She seriously did not want to become crazy!

Yan Chen and Le Qingxing finally caught up with them, and the four groups of zombies had finally gathered together and were moving in the direction of the black swamp which was located northwest.

...

During their journey, Ying Yannuo quickly told Gu Xijiu about his plan. The area of the black swamp was huge, and there was a suction force beneath it. Hence, the zombies would sink to the bottom of the swamp once they had jumped into it...

Of course, the person who wanted to lure the zombies into the swamp had to enter the swamp as well. Otherwise, the zombies would not jump into the swamp.

It was not necessary for the four of them to become the bait. Hence, Gu Xijiu would make her exit with the other two when they were almost at the black swamp, and Ying Yannuo would be the bait to lure the zombies into the swamp...

Of course, it was very risky for the person who acted as the bait. Yan Chen disagreed with the proposal, "No way! Let me be the bait!" He was the eldest and most powerful among the four of them, so how could he let Ying Yannuo bear all the risk as he was the youngest and weakest in the group?

Ying Yannuo disagreed, "No! Little Fox is waiting for you. You can't take the risk!"

Le Qingxing wanted to speak, but she was interrupted by Ying Yannuo, "Your sister can't go on without you as well!"

Gu Xijiu frowned, "We must take good care of ourselves. Ying Yannuo, be sure to return alive!"

Ying Yannuo took a glimpse at Gu Xijiu, "Are you worried about me?"

Gu Xijiu was annoyed, "All of us care about you! We're a team now!"

Ying Yannuo looked at her again and said gently, "Alright, I'll be fine. Don't worry. I'm familiar with the landscape here, so I'll be alright. Xijiu, there's a small hill about five kilometers that away. Could you wait for me over there? I'll catch up with you after I have lured them into the swamp."

The three of them wanted to say something but Ying Yannuo was kind of upset, "Enough, just follow my plan!"

Though he was young, his aura was unbeatable, so no one dared to say another word. Soon enough, they could smell the awful scent lingering in the air. Apparently, they were close to the swamp...

"Xijiu, bring Le Qingxing to safety first and then come back to bring Yan Chen!" Ying Yannuo quickly instructed.

Gu Xijiu knew nothing would change his mind at the moment. Hence, she immediately nodded, "Sure!" and disappeared with Le Qingxing after pulling her sleeve.

She had left Le Qingxing behind somewhere about five kilometers away and had asked her to wait. She grabbed onto Yan Chen before teleporting them both away and arrived near the swamp again.

After successfully reuniting Yan Chen and Le Qingxing together, Gu Xijiu was about to teleport away when Yan Chen quickly grabbed her hand, "Xijiu, where are you going?"

Gu Xijiu tapped on his shoulder, "I'm only going to check on him, and perhaps, I could even teleport him to safety if necessary. Don't worry. I'll not show up in front of him if he is not in any danger. Both of you should go and look for Little Fox but remember to stay safe..."

In a split second, Gu Xijiu had disappeared.

She reappeared on a big tree which stood beside the swamp. The big tree was about 10 meters tall and bloomed all year long. Although it was winter, there were a lot of green leaves and branches growing on the tree. Thus, Gu Xijiu could hide in it while she observed the situation.

The swamp seemed borderless and looked like a massive puddle of black mud. Occasionally, Gu Xijiu could see some bubbles bobbing on the surface, and the area was covered with an awful stench of rotting smell.

Gu Xijiu suddenly had an idea! She secretly jumped down and poked a tree branch into the swamp. Her eyes sparkled as she observed the mud on the tree branch.

It was not mud but in fact petroleum! This entire area was a gigantic pool of petroleum! Of course, other than the petroleum, there must have been something else at the bottom.

She threw a leaf the size of her palm into the swamp. It did not float on the surface but sank right to the bottom...

Gosh! What an excellent place to burn the zombies!

Although the zombies did not seem to be afraid of fire, they were seemingly frightened of spiritual fire. Unfortunately, it would not last long against the zombies even though it was strong. However, it would be a different case if they were using petroleum to fuel the fire...

She was certain that the monsters would be burned to ashes by the petroleum-fueled fire!

...

She heard a loud noise coming from behind her. Apparently, Ying Yannuo had finally arrived with the zombies...

She could already see Ying Yannuo's fluttering robe from afar. She leaped and landed beside him. Ying Yannuo was shocked by her sudden appearance as she started to run alongside him, "Silly girl, why are you here?!"

"The swamp is flammable! As soon as the zombies have fallen into the swamp, get out of her immediately. I am going to burn them to ashes!" Gu Xijiu told him.

Ying Yannuo frowned, "But they aren't afraid of fire..."

"They would most likely be afraid of it this time as the swamp is made entirely of petroleum. The fire will last for a few days if it is set to burn. Besides, the fire will have a very high temperature which is hot enough to melt steel. Wouldn't this be the perfect crematorium to burn the zombies!?" Gu Xijiu was very confident with her idea!

Ying Yannuo knew she had many ideas and felt relieved, "Great!"

In the blink of an eye, both of them had come up with a plan. However, they encountered some difficulties when they tried executing their plan.

When they had almost arrived at the swamp, the zombies stopped moving one by one as though they had sensed the danger which was ahead of them and Ying Yannuo was unable to lure them forward any further.

At the same time, something was roaring from afar...

The sound was strange, and its voice was hoarse and loud. When Gu Xijiu heard the roar, she felt that her ears were buzzing as though her eardrums were going to burst.

It was as though the white-clothed zombies had heard something calling for them as they began to turn around and were about to run in the opposite direction.

Gu Xijiu panicked and was at a lost for words. F*ck! Was it all just wasted effort?!

Ying Yannuo suddenly grabbed her and tossed her towards the big tree which was far away, "Hide yourself!"

Gu Xijiu helplessly flew towards the big tree. When she turned around and looked back, she realized that he was using his Flying Wind Magic to levitate in midair. She had no idea what kind of spell he was using, but a blood chain formed around his fingertips and surrounded him. Eventually, a blood membrane formed around him and the air was overwhelmed by the smell of blood and herbs.

The white-clothed zombies who were about to flee began turning around to face them. Countless pair of eyes were staring straight at Ying Yannuo who was hanging in midair. All of them had the expression as though they were drug addicts who had just seen a stack of drugs. They started drooling, and their eyes turned blood red as they rushed towards Ying Yannuo!

Ying Yannuo flew towards the swamp as the white-clothed zombies frantically chased after him... Countless zombies started to fall into the black swamp one by one and immediately sank right to the bottom of it as they had nothing to support them. The of group zombies had been running so fast that they were unable to stop themselves on time and eventually all of them had fallen into the swamp...

In fact, the swamp was not very deep; it was only about three to four meters in depth. As some of the zombies had reached the bottom, those who fell into the swamp after that stood on top of them. Eventually, the zombies had buried themselves in the swamp layer by layer.

Gu Xijiu felt sick as she watched from the big tree. She was surprised that Ying Yannuo's blood possessed such powerful magic to the extent that it made the zombies chased after him like it was the most important thing in their life.

She looked at her palm and decided to cut herself too. However, her blood was not as attractive as Ying Yannuo's. The zombies continued jumping into the swamp as Ying Yannuo moved around in midair. Though the blood membrane fully engulfed him, she could still clearly see him through its layer.

His fingers continuously emitted the spell as his eyes were watching the scene that was taking place beneath him. It was as though he was the almighty god. Her heart was pumping rapidly as she clenched her fingers wondering who he was.

"Little Cang, Little Cang, do you know what type of Kung Fu is this?" Gu Xijiu could not help but to seek enlightenment from the Firmament Stone on her wrist.

The Firmament Stone replied her after a while, "No idea." This type of Kung Fu must be extremely rare as even the Firmament Stone did not recognize it!

"Could someone who possessed a spiritual power of level three past six perform this Kung Fu? Look, he was levitating in midair and had yet to fall even after so long..."

Though Gu Xijiu was also able to levitate in midair using the Flying Wind Magic which she had learned at Tianju Hall, she was only capable of doing so for about a minute at best. Furthermore, Gu Xijiu who was considered the best student among her group and was the only one who was able to master the Flying Wind Magic entirely. However, Ying Yannuo had been circling in the air for three minutesmidair, and there was no sign that he was going to have to come down anytime soon...

Besides, it did not look like he was using Flying Wind Magic. What was it then? She wanted to learn!

A strong suction force existed inside the swamp. Hence, the zombies were unable to escape once they had fallen into the swamp. However, they were not dead yet as there were a lot of bubbles bobbing in the area where they had fallen. Apparently, many of the zombies were still struggling at the bottom of the swamp.

All they had to do now was to wait until all the zombie had fallen into the swamp before they ignited the swamp with fire. While she was pondering about it, she realized that Ying Yannuo's body was falling! Gu Xijiu was shocked, and worried that he would soon fall into the swamp!

She was about to teleport over there, but to her surprise, Ying Yannuo tapped the tip of his foot on the head of a zombie that just swooped over when he was about to sink, rendering his body fluttering in the air once again.

Gu Xijiu breathed a sigh of relief. It looks like Ying Yannuo has no more danger here anymore. There was a sudden vibration in her waist. Taken by surprise, she fished out a hexagonal amulet; upon tapping on its surface, Little Fox's frantic and distraught voice leaped out, "Heavens, it's about to catch us!"

Gu Xijiu's expression changed. Gu Xijiu invented this hexagonal amulet based on the fundamental principles of a Walkie-talkie. Although this era did not have modern technology, it possessed spirit powers that were capable of conjuring all elements of nature.

Experiment after experiment, and failure after failure, she was finally able to invent this type of amulet. Although it was unable to transmit sound over ten thousand li-like a telephone, conversations within a hundred li were still audible through the amulet.

Upon its invention, the amulet received a heavy promotion at Tianju Hall. As the enchantment of the amulet required the spirit power of practitioners above level eight, in addition to the high expenditure of spiritual power in its production, not everybody was able to get their hands on one. It was only during dangerous missions that the amulets would be provided.

As Gu Xijiu was the inventor of the amulet, she and her friends enjoyed a special privilege and were each able to receive one. Of course, the amulet was wholly powered by spirit power and had a high consumption rate, depleting a considerable amount of spirit power upon each usage. So even though they carried the amulet with them, they would not use it for communication unless in dire circumstances.

The voice coming out of the amulet now must be because of Little Fox was accidentally pressing the switch in a state of panic. Little Fox and her group must have met with danger!

Gu Xijiu thought of the deep, heavy bellow she heard just now - was it the voice of the zombie king?

"It can fly! It's chasing up to us!"

"Ah..."

"Bang!"

A menagerie of voices leaped out of the amulet; it was clear that Little Fox's group's situation was getting more dire and dire...

Gu Xijiu uttered a silent incantation and took a look at Ying Yannuo. Knowing that he was no longer in danger, she spoke to him, "I'll go check on Little Fox and her group."

Ying Yannuo was speechless. In a swift flash of movement, she vanished immediately. In that girl's mind, the safety of her companions is forever the priority.

...

Darling, do you know that for the sake of not breaking our promise, I have not paid heed to the accursed wounds of my body just to return to your side?

Darling, do you know that the exertion of my current spiritual level burns on the strength of Gods?

Darling, do you know that the blood that I shed now is that of the heart of the gods, every drop of which heavily depletes my spiritual power?

Darling, the only reason that I dare to use this move now is that you are not far away. I thought that you would teleport me away to safety at the critical moment...

Darling, on your leave, would you feel sad if anything unforeseen happened to me?

You would probably not feel too sad.

In his time by her side for nearly half a year, except for that time when she uttered "Di Fuyi" in a state of inebriation, she had always been normal. She spent each day practicing and romping with her friends in Tianju Hall; her days passed by with richness without ever once mentioning his name.

He thought that the cold-blooded girl must have forgotten who the hell he was!

Little brat, I'll make you pay for this once I recover! I'll get more than just even with you!

Little Xijiu, you just wait!

...

A horrifying and unfathomable abyss ruptured from the earth, tumbling down the snow, clouds, and stones to its depths from time to time.

The dreadful monsters that were pursuing the group on the snowfields at that moment had emerged from the abyss. There were two monsters, each of which possessed a bizarre shape and unparalleled monstrosity in size.

One looked similar to a dragon but was in actuality a Chinese alligator which had a stature that was as imposing as a dinosaur's. The squamous and dense objects layered on its body were not scales, but the hands of humans.

The other looked similar to a Phoenix, but was again not actually a phoenix and was rather akin to a pattern made by the amalgamation of the random parts of the human body.

These two entities possessed extremely imposing figures and extraordinary combat prowess; in agape of the jaws, an ink-black decomposing odor capable of melting everything would be released; in a sweep of a tail, even mountains would fall!

These two creatures had emerged from the abyss after the zombie crowd was attracted away; once they have surfaced it was the beginning of their mindless carnage—the hunting and the killing of all moving and living targets!

When the creatures have just emerged, Lan Waihu's group was not nearby and had instead complied with Gu Xijiu's orders to drive ten li away from the location. After finding a safe place to disembark, the group of people caught their breath and discussed the prospect of driving in search of Gu Xijiu's group to see if they could offer a helping hand.

Before they reached a conclusion to their deliberation, they heard a strange noise coming from the road and saw the earth trembling greatly. From that same direction, they could hear the faint voices of battle and shouting, and described the occasional flashes of light illuminating the sky.

They did not know what was happening and could not make out the situation from a far distance. They suspected that Gu Xijiu and her group must have been in a confrontation with the zombie again... After a brief discussion, they soon got onto the chariot again and let the Flying Lion bring them back.

They planned to provide all the support they can and join in the struggle if Gu Xijiu and her group were over there battling against the zombie.

If Gu Xijiu were not over there, then they would fly back to catch wind of the situation and assess whether their aid was necessary. The chariot they were riding on was capable of flying anyway, so the zombie would not be able to catch up to them no matter if their numbers were rising from the subterranean.

Being wet behind their ears and in their teenage years, they were easily curious and fearless to take risks in hot blood. Their plan was not bad; however, they froze in their tracks when they clearly saw the struggle in front of them.

The somber-colored version of the dragon and phoenix combination was surrounding the dragon-riding woman and her golden armored giant in a series of fierce attacks—

The dragon-riding woman clearly did not expect the two creatures to emerge from the abyss; the physical appearance of the two monstrosities had repulsed her and rendered her visage pale.

She was very skilled; streaks of lightning discharged from her palms and etched black visible scorch marks on their hides, brimming the air with the smell of roast meat.

The golden armored giant with its Heaven Halberd danced like a wind-and- fire wheel; the golden rays gleaming furiously from the halberd shone on the bodies of the creatures, leaving scars that flowed with blood that was as black as ink...

But whether it was the woman or her steed or her servant, they were unable to deliver the fatal blow to the creatures and drove them to a more frenzied state instead; the two creatures enveloped and besieged her in a belch of smoke and fog!

Just when she was in a difficult situation, Lan Waihu and his group's lion chariot appeared from not far away.

With a quick thought, the woman gestured toward her servant and made a feint of weakness, then bluntly charged through the basement to the direction of the lion chariot!

The monsters were incapable of recognizing faces and attacked without discrimination or mercy.

Therefore, when the woman and her servant surged past the lion chariot and soared straight into the skies, the lion chariot became the attack target of the two creatures.

The two creatures were entities of extreme misfortune; any ordinary animal that saw them would be scared shitless and would be paralyzed by fear, let alone run away.

Even the dragon rode by the woman in the combat just now was so anxious that all of its scales stood on their ends! It was wholly petrified and would have fallen in fear were it not well-trained.

However, the Flying Lion pulling Qian Lingyu and his group in the escape was able to summon extraordinary courage at such a perilous moment—not only did it not cower and fall in fear, but it also pulled the chariot in all sorts of fancy patterns as well!

For a while, it flew in the shape of zig-zag, in another the shape of an "8", and another in the shape of an "S"...

Although the two creatures were frightful and ghastly in their pursuit, they could not even touch one wheel of the chariot that was flaunting a swift evasion.

In this world, the Flying Lion are the steeds of the noble and the rich and were quite abundant in number in the mainland. Although they were quite esteemed and valuable, they were not considered to be rare beasts; even the lowest steed of the elders of the three main clans was superior to the Flying Lion.

When Qian Lingyu and his group saw the two monsters charging over like a train, they thought they were doomed for sure!

They had even tried to use their abilities against the two creatures in desperation to slightly slow them down.

But the two creatures were too fearsome and mighty. No matter how strong the Lan Waihu's group's abilities were and their formidability that triumphs even the eight level beasts in the Dark Forest, the barrier that they put before the monstrosities were nothing but paper and broke in one charge!

When Lan Waihu and his group saw their barrier flying away in pieces and the fangs of the creatures taking shape in front of them, a chill ran through their spines, thinking that it must be all over for them!

However, to their surprise, the Flying Lion took a complete and abrupt turn and charged through the gap between the two beasts; its tail even swept across the eyes of the Chinese alligator monster, leaving it to screech in agony...

The two creatures were utterly enraged and pursued after the chariot relentlessly, but the Flying Lion was more than well-trained and always managed to evade their attacks within a hair's breadth.

It was clear that this Flying Lion was no ordinary Flying Lion.

This chariot was clearly specially made as well. Even when it was gyrated in a series of the Flying Lion's spiraling evasions, the chariot did not get shaken into pieces and was so sturdy that even the tassels on the carriage did not fall. It was only unfortunate for the four people on the chariot, who were quaked near to the point of hurling out their gallbladder. They held onto the handles of the carriage tightly, and their bodies were violently heaved around, crashing into each other from time to time.

It was fortunate that the four had considerable ability, or else they would have already been flung out of the chariot and become feed for the creatures.

As the Flying Lion was, in fact, carrying a load of four people, it could not achieve its maximum speed. Though the two creatures could not bite it, it could get them off its tail as well—

When Gu Xijiu made it to the scene, she was presented with this image.

The Flying Lion was scampering helter-skelter in the sky while being pursued by two extremely ugly monsters—

The dragon-riding woman was instead standing close to the zenith of the layers of clouds, shrouding herself and observing from a safe distance with no intention of helping.

The Flying Lion was flying with increasing danger.
