Chapter 20
*Scarlett's POV*
I was running away from everything. Just when I needed to get away from the world, it finds it's way back to me. I can't believe he's not my dad! I always thought he was. And he always said he was. Did I have no dad at all then? I can't remember anything of my childhood other than being with Kellin my entire life. How was he not my dad!
My thoughts were interrupted when I knock into someone. Nice going retard, I thought to myself.
The person fell on top of me and had fairly long hair. I soon realized it was a boy. This situation just got awkward.
"Holy shit, I'm soo sorry. I should've seen where I was riding." The boy said and got off and helped me up.
"Oh it's fine. I wasn't looking where I running anyway. It's not your fault." I told him. His skateboard was next to me so I handed back to him.
"Well I still feel bad. Are you okay?" he asked. He took the skateboard with a worried look.
"Yea I'm fine." I said, giving him an reassuring look.
"Okay that's good." he said with a smile.
I noticed he had brown eyes. He was fairly tan and pretty tall. His hair was black and fairly long as I noticed earlier. He was wearing an Anthem Made shirt that said "Make Friends Not War", black skinny jeans and white converse. He didn't look half bad.
"Oh my name is Scarlett by the way." I said
"Nice to meet you Scarlett," he said and shook my hand, "my name is Jayden."
"Nice to meet you Jayden." I said with a smile.
He seemed pretty cool, I thought to myself.
"So, why were you running?" he asked.
"Oh, just for you no, exercise." I lied.
"Really? Oh that's cool." He said
"Yea. Why are you here?" I asked. Not like I was trying to be noisy or anything but I was curious.
"Oh I just came to ride on my skateboard and think about stuff." he said and pointed at his skateboard.
"That's cool." I said and he smiled. His smile is so contagious, so I ended up smiling.
"So, you wanna walk around and talk?" he asked and I agreed.
Turns out he just moved here, San Francisco, from Michigan. He has three younger siblings and one older sister. He was 13 just like me and Xavier. He was home schooled because of bullying but he's gunna go to the same school as me at the end of summer. He was really cool and funny.
"So, who do you live with?" he asked me.
"Oh, well I live with my dad and his friends." I told him. As much as I wanted to say something different, I couldn't.
"Oh cool." He said and that's when I saw Xavier. He ran up to me and Jayden.
"Scarlett are you okay? I've been looking everywhere for you and who's this?" he asked
"Yea X I'm fine. This is Jayden. Jayden this is my best friend Xavier. Jayden is new here." I introduced Jayden to Xavier.
"Nice to meet you, Jayden" Xavier said and they both shook hands.
"Yea you too dude." Jayden said and looked back at me.
"Hey, I better get going. My mom is probably wondering where the heck I'm at. Ill text you later?" he said
"Yea sure." I said and we switched phone numbers.
"Alright, see you later Scarlett!" he said and he left on his skateboard.
"Well than." Xavier said and I gave him a funny look.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh nothing." he replied.
"Liar!" I said and gave him the, you better tell me what the hell is wrong with you right now, look.
"Ugh it's nothing Scar, forget I said anything." He said and looked away.
Just when I was going to tell him off, I got a phone call.
"Ugh, your lucky someone decided to call me right now." I told him. He murmured something but I couldn't hear him. The caller ID said "Mikey =P". That's when my heart stopped beating for a second.
~ringggg ringgg~
Scarlett: Hello?
Mike: Hey, where are you?
S: The park with Xavier, why?
M: Where exactly?
S: Umm, by the playground, by the slide next to the swings.
M: Ha! I told you! *background of Mike's phone* yea, yea whatever. I could've guess that.
S: Mike who are you with?
M: You'll see in a bit. Don't go anywhere imma go pick you up. See you in a bit rugrat.
S: Yea, see you later.
~end of call~
"Well looks like my ride is coming." I told Xavier.
"What? Already! It's only been like 1 hour." He wined
"I know but, you know how they are." I told him.
"Yea true. Well I'll wait here until your ride gets here." He said and I just nodded.
-10 minutes later-
Xavier and I were on the swings, talking about the stupidest things we could think of. Then all of a sudden, someone grabbed my shoulder. I punched the person in the stomach with my elbow. I got off the swing and turned around and saw Jack on the ground.
"Mercy, Mercy!!!" he whispered/shouted at me.
"Holy cow, I'm soooo sorry Jack! I didn't know it was you." I told him and helped him up.
"It's all good. I would've done the same thing. Good reflexes by the way." He told me.
In the distance, you could hear Mike laughing his ass off. I guess he saw, which made me blush like crazy. Mike came up to me, Jack and Xavier.
"Damn, you got beat up by a girl! How does it feel? Please let us know." Mike said to Jack as if he were a reporter. Mike held a fake microphone up at Jack.
"It feels bad and cool at the same time, you know. I feel like imma throw up, that's the bad part. But at the same time, this chick knows how to fight and protect herself, that the cool part." He told Mike the "reporter".
We all started laughing. We stayed at the park alittle bit after Mike and Jack came for me. We all tried not to make a scene but that was pretty hard considering the fact Mike was carrying me over his shoulder and I was screaming for him to get me down.
"MIKE, PLEASE PUT ME DOWN!" I screamed at him.
"I would but I don't wanna. So your out of luck rugrat." He told me. I could feel him smirking so I started kicking him.
"Oh calm down, babygirl! I'll put you down if you say one thing." he told me.
"Oh yeah? What's that?" I tell him.
"You have to yell Mike Fuentes rules, everyone should bow down to him!" He told me with the biggest smile on his face.
"Yeah right! That's never happening!" I said.
"Oh really?" he asked and I nodded. That was a huge mistake.
After that, Mike started spinning around while I was still on his shoulder.
"AHHHHH!" I yelled and laughed so hard.
"SAY IT!!" yelled Mike.
"NEVER!!" I yelled and Mike spun faster and faster.
"NOW SAY IT OR I WILL GO FASTER!" Mike yelled at me.
"OKAY! MIKE FUENTES RULES, EVERYONE SHOULD BOW DOWN TO HIM!!!" I said while laughing.
Then Mike put me down and started laughing so hard. I smack his arm playfully and I felt dizzy.
"You okay babygirl?" Mike asked me.
"Yea I'm fine you jerk." I told him and gave him the biggest hug ever. He hugged me back and we laid down on the grass, waiting for Jack and Xavier. Where were they?
