⠀⠀A few days had passed, and Jungkook's mood matched the grey weather outside on this Halloween afternoon. For the past week, Taehyung had been apologizing to Jungkook nonstop about what he said during their heated argument. Sure, Jungkook forgave him, but he made it clear he needed some space and time to think.
⠀⠀This whole online dating thing had left Jungkook feeling pensive; to contemplate if he truly wanted this. Times like this were when he craved that physical affection from Taehyung. He wanted to be wrapped in Taehyung's arms and peppered in kisses to reassure him that Taehyung didn't mean what he said; that Taehyung didn't question why they were dating.
⠀⠀Jungkook was in the middle of applying his face paint when he received a text from Taehyung. He was dreading their conversation today, honestly. He hadn't told Taehyung about his impulsive decision to be Lucas's plus one at the party, and Jungkook knew Taehyung's reaction wouldn't be pretty. However, he was doing this regardless. He was determined to prove a point that Lucas was simply a friend.

⠀⠀Jungkook wasn't really sure if they were on bad terms again, but he opted to not dwell on it and finished up the final touches of his outfit. It was a rather lazy outfit. He had on bunny ears, face paint on his nose and whiskers on his cheeks, and a plain white tee and ripped jeans to complete the look. Since it was a party, he figured he'd keep it casual.
⠀⠀As time flew by, Lucas sent Jungkook a text that he was here to which Jungkook darted out the door. He saw a black Escalade parked outside his house and walked up to it to get inside.
⠀⠀"See- I told you, you'd look cute like that," Lucas spoke, smile on his face and wrist draped over the steering wheel.
⠀⠀"I look like a busted Bugs Bunny, but go off," Jungkook retorted and buckled his seatbelt.
⠀⠀He then eyed Lucas' attire and quirked an eyebrow. The older had on a black greaser jacket, a white tee, jeans held up by a belt, his hair was gelled, and a cigarette was tucked behind his ear. "What are you, uh, supposed to be?" Jungkook asked.
⠀⠀"I'm a greaser from the fifties," he answered with an airy chuckle.
⠀⠀"Right~" Jungkook drawled and looked down at his own lap. He then sucked in a sharp breath when he felt a soft pinch on his cheek.
⠀⠀"God, I love your cheeks. They're so cute and chubby- I could pinch 'em all day," Lucas husked.
⠀⠀"L-Lucas, I have face paint on. You'll- you'll smear it," Jungkook whined while nudging Lucas' hand away.
⠀⠀"Sorry. Couldn't help myself," Lucas apologized and gave Jungkook's thigh a light pat. "Let's get going then, yeah?" Jungkook nodded.
⠀⠀Jungkook's lips spread into a coy smile as Lucas shifted the gear into drive. A drive full of small talk later and they were at some dude named Jaehyun's Halloween party, and that smile Jungkook had plastered on his face had faltered. See, Jungkook had only been to one party before and that was child's play compared to this one.
⠀⠀A sea of unfamiliar faces were spread out through the living room, dancing to some techno music and drinking cheap beer out of red solo cups. Jungkook swore he could hear some moaning coming from upstairs, and he saw some drunk dude slipping on his own vomit. He also saw people playing strip poker in the corner, and some dude streaking through the house. Yeah, this whole party was a mess.
⠀⠀Before Jungkook even had time to think, he felt himself being dragged into the sea of sweaty bodies by Lucas. "Let's dance!" Lucas bellowed to be heard due to the blaring music.
⠀⠀Sure, Jungkook liked to dance, but that was in privacy of his bedroom and to pop music, not whatever dated crap was playing. So Jungkook just stood there awkwardly while everyone danced around them. Well, until Lucas stood from behind him and grabbed onto his hips to pull him close.
⠀⠀Jungkook's eyes widened as he felt his backside press against Lucas' front, and he could've swore he felt something hardening against his bottom. "Need me to show you how to dance?" Lucas whispered into his ear.
⠀⠀A boundary was definitely being overstepped, and Jungkook was beyond uncomfortable. Maybe Jungkook's wasn't going to prove a point tonight. "C-Can we go somewhere a little more quiet?" Jungkook shouted over the music.
⠀⠀"Sure. How 'bout we get something to drink," Lucas said as he grabbed Jungkook's hand and led him to the kitchen.
⠀⠀After Lucas poured them each a cup of punch, they found a secluded corner and sat down on some chairs, muffle music playing in the background. "Enjoying yourself?" Lucas asked as Jungkook sipped on his punch.
⠀⠀"I guess. I'm not really a fan of parties, if I'm being honest," Jungkook admitted while drumming his fingers against the plastic cup in his hand.
⠀⠀Lucas hummed. "Is that so? Well, maybe we could ditch this party and—" Before Lucas could continue, his phone rang and he sighed. "Hold that thought."
⠀⠀"What, Jungwoo?" he answered, voice gruff and drenched in irritation. "For the last time, I'm not going trick-or-treating with you! I'm at a party! ...Are you seriously about to cry over this? God, you're such a cry baby. I told you I had plans already!"
⠀⠀As Lucas talked back and forth with his friend on the phone, Jungkook sat there and stared with his big eyes. He felt his gut wrench as their conversation continued and he could hear Jungwoo's cries on the other line. It reminded him of Taehyung in a way. Not the crying, but the situation in general. A sudden guilt seeped into him; he was spending his Halloween at some trashy party instead of with his boyfriend. He was making a mistake.
⠀⠀As what felt like an endless phone call carried on, Jungkook decided to check his Twitter, and much to his surprise, he had a message from Namjoon.

⠀⠀"Lucas, I-I have to leave. Can you take me home? Like right now?" Jungkook pleaded.
⠀⠀Lucas furrowed his eyebrows. "Already? But it hasn't even been an hour."
⠀⠀"I-I know, but some things came up and- I just need to go home!" Jungkook covered his mouth, stunned at his own assertiveness. "Sorry. Didn't mean to raise my voice like that..."
⠀⠀"N-No, it's fine. If you don't wanna stay here, that's okay. I'm not gonna force you," Lucas reassured him and stood up, reaching his hand out for Jungkook to grab.
⠀⠀The younger smiled at him and took his hand, being led out the door back to Lucas' car. Jungkook's teeth began to chatter as the cold October air pricked at his skin. Taking notice to this, Lucas cooed, "You're cold? Here..." As he trailed, he took off his jacket and handed it to Jungkook.
⠀⠀Although hesitant to take it, Jungkook ended up with the jacket on, his much smaller frame drowning in it. Yet while he was in Lucas' clothes and talking to him, all Jungkook could think about was Taehyung. Taehyung and only Taehyung.
⠀⠀Upon reaching Jungkook's house, Lucas hit the breaks and turned off his car. "Th-Thanks for the ride. Sorry I couldn't stay longer," Jungkook muttered as he fidgeted with the zipper to the jacket he adorned.
⠀⠀Lucas placed his hand on Jungkook's thigh and grinned. "No need to apologize." He then added, "But before you leave, mind if I ask you something?"
⠀⠀"Oh, not- not at all," Jungkook said while taking off his seatbelt and Lucas' jacket.
⠀⠀Lucas's grip on Jungkook's thigh only tightened as he leaned closer, eyes looking at Jungkook sharply as he asked, "Do you ever get urges, Jungkook?"
⠀⠀Jungkook blinked and gulped. "Urges? Wh-What do you mean?"
⠀⠀"Y'know, urges. Urges to act... reckless, I guess you could say." Jungkook felt his stomach tighten and his breath hitch as Lucas closed the gap between their faces. Lucas' eyes trailed down to Jungkook's pretty lips, a glazed look on his face as he continued, "Do you ever have an urge to act on your feelings? Hmm? Do you, Jungkook?"
⠀⠀"Feelings? Lucas, I have no idea what- I-I'm so confused," Jungkook stammered, heart beating faster than a hummingbird's.
⠀⠀"Such a clueless boy, aren't ya?" Lucas snickered. "Let me show you what I mean then." After uttering those last words, Lucas' mouth found a new occupation as his lips attached to Jungkook's, acting on those urges.
