Chapter one
Hey! I'm Lola and I'm 14 years old. I have always lived in a care home. My parents dumped me at Burnywood (which we all call Burnyhell) as a newborn and I never saw them again. Not that I care- I'm Lola; Lola Pearce and I don't care. I ran away from Burnywood a week ago and got hit by a car! I have been in hospital since; but I'm going home today! Well, not home- just not here in the hospital! I'm going to a new care home called Elk Tree I think? I'm not too sure... Anyway, I have got all the things from Burnywood, that had not been nicked, packed into a small bag. I had:
A pair of black skinny jeans
Purple Hoodie
Pink Polo
Converse's
Underwear
And that's it- not a lot! But that's life; we all live it!
I got changed, into my only other clothes which were the same as the others. So I zipped up my purple hoodie, and walked out of my hospital room being watched by a social worker called Elaine. I went into the car park and got told to stay in the front seat and behave! A couple seconds later, a younger woman with black hair opened the door. This must be Tracy. 'Hello Lola! I'm your new co-care worker Tracy, Tracy Beaker. I know what you feel I have been there! So, tell me about yourself!' Tracy introduced herself and waited for my reply. 'Oh, Hi Tracy. I'm Lola yes. I'm 14 years old and won't be making friends at the care home.' I said bluntly not saying what I thought. 'I'm sure you will Lola- 14? We have Liam;Frank and Elektra.. They are all 14!' Tracy replied obviously not understanding my statement. 'Nope I will not! I don't make friends. They just turn and nick your stuff; or beat you up!' I snapped whilst Tracy shook her head.
'Were not like Burnyhell! ' Tracy chuckled 'We don't do stuff like that! The worse we have, was some one borrowing some one else's shampoo Lola!'
'Oh! Well... Ill think about it. So, Liam Frank and Elektra- sound cool!' I said not meaning a thing. We then pulled up at a huge nice looking house.
