________

This is the tutorial for the current cover of my book To Die For! I really love that book so you guys should read it ;) ANYWAYS this tutorial is really simple so let's get started ladies!

Apps:
Superimpose, afterlight, VSCO, Polarr, phonto

Step 1:
Select a close up image of the person you're using on the cover. Make sure it's one where there is a bit of a side profile or their head is tilted a little bit. You also want the picture to be closer up.

Step 2:
Open up the Polaroid below and place it at an angle on your person's face. Make sure you place the Polaroid on the side of the person's face that's being shown to the camera. When you have it placed how you like it, drop the shadow and merge.

Step 3:
Pick a picture of your person of an emotion you want go focus on. Think of how you want the direction of your book to go. If it's sad and the character is supposed to be 'broken,' use a picture of them crying. If it's supposed to be suspenseful, use a picture of them scared, or nervous looking. Really, just pick a picture that's appropriate for your cover.
Turn the saturation of the picture down and put it on multiply. Fit it to your Polaroid so it looks like the picture is part of their face. Use the rectangle masking tool to cut off the surrounding part of the image. Merge normally when it's cleaned up and positioned properly.

⬇️

Step 4:
Filter it how you normally would, then go into polarr. Click on the three circles that say filter then click on the button that says 'all'

Next, press 'import filter' and add in this qr code I've provided. I made this filter so credit me please if you use it for any other cover besides this one! I muted the filter to 50!

After you add your filter, add your title then you're done! Finished product:

Fonts: couture-bolditalic, riven

I hope this tutorial was more detailed than my last one! I really like this cover. It's really easy to make! Next chapter will focus on filtering! I'll show you guys my favorite free and paid filtering apps!
