(Y/N)'S POV
I was currently running through the forest to see my dad, the wind sailing through my (h/c) hair. I could feel my bare feet slapping the ground with every step, and my shoulders brushing against the occasional bush as I ran. I had a huge grin on my face, because today was my birthday. As I entered the clearing in which we lived, I saw him. The apocalypse dragon, Fatalis.
(A/N) The picture above is what he looks like)
My smile grew even wider as I began to run as fast as my legs could carry me toward my dad.
(Y/n): FATALIS! FATALIS!
His head rose, and he turned to me. His white scales were shining in the sun light.
Fatalis: What has you all excited like this, my child?
(Y/n): Guess what day it is!
Fatalis: Hmm, July 6th. If I remember correctly, today is your birthday.
I began nodding frantically, and was bouncing up and down with joy.
(Y/n): YES! You remembered!
Fatalis: I would never forget your birthday, child. If I did, I would never forgive myself.
I hugged his large head and chuckled. My fingers traced over a scar where his left eye would be.
Fatalis: Did I ever tell you how I lost my eye?
(Y/n): No, I don't think you did.
Fatalis: Well, it happened while I was in battle. Back then I despised humans and wanted to see them all burn. I was destroying a capital city when a young swordsman interrupted my rampage. I could tell he didn't want to fight me, so I began to try and provoke him. I told him he was weak, feeble, and a poor excuse for a wizard. He didn't let my insults anger him, but he ended up fighting me only to protect his kingdom. I tried to attack him, but he was too fast for me. When I was distracted, he caught me by surprise and slashed at my eye with his blade.
(Y/n): That guy sounds like a jerk.
Fatalis: I'm not finished, (y/n).
(Y/n): Sorry, please go on.
Fatalis: ok, when it came time for me to leave, the swordsman told me something, something I will never forget. He said "Fatalis, one-day you are going to find someone. That person will change your life, so when you find them please promise me that you will care for them." I took his words to heart and left without saying a word.
(Y/n): So, was that man talking about me?
Fatalis: Maybe he was. Oh, I just remembered, I have a gift for you.
(Y/n): really, what is it?
Fatalis: close your eyes and you'll see.
I did as I was told and tightly closed my eyes with both my arms extended forward, awaiting my gift. I felt his claws place something in my hands.
Fatalis: ok, you can open your eyes now.
I opened my eyes and saw something I wasn't expecting. It was a sword that was held within a deer skin scabbard.
(It looks like Dawnbreaker from Skyrim)
(Y/n): What's this for?
Fatalis: for battle, of course.
(Y/n): Why would I need a sword in a fight when I have magic?
Fatalis: you shouldn't always rely on magic, (y/n). What if you run out of magic power in the middle of a fight, what will you do then?
I look down at the sword in my hands and then back to Fatalis.
(Y/n): ok, I'll keep it.
We both stood there in silence for a bit until Fatalis spoke up.
Fatalis: Say, (y/n). Have you been working on your transformation?
Fatalis taught me a special type of transformation magic that let's me grow stuff like wings, horns, and even a tail.
(Y/n): yeah, why?
Fatalis: good, I want to show you something. Activate your magic and follow me.
I nodded and began to focus my magic power around my body. My wings sprouted, along with my tail. Horns jetted from my temples.
(Y/n): I'm ready.
Fatalis: alright, now let's go.
He began to flap his massive pair of wings while I was trying my best to do the same. I managed to lift myself of the ground and started to follow Fatalis through the air. I smiled as I felt the breeze on my (s/t) skin.
After a few minutes, we were both soaring high above the clouds. I loved being able to fly on my own. before he taught me this magic, I would always ride on his back and take in the view.
Fatalis: it should be right over here.
We began to fly downwards and landed on a beach. I returned to normal and turned to Fatalis.
(Y/n): So what did you want to show me?
Fatalis: Look over there.
I turned to look and my jaw dropped. It was a cliff that look like the head of a dragon.
(Y/n): Wow, it's beautiful.
Fatalis: It really is.
We both sat in silence staring at the cliff for what felt like an eternity.
Fatalis: (y/n).
(Y/n): yeah?
Fatalis: do you see that mountain over there?
I turned to my right and saw a fairly large mountain not too far away.
(Y/n): yeah, I see it.
Fatalis: I want you to roar at it with everything you've got.
I stood up, faced the mountain, and planted my feet firmly on the ground. I closed my eyes and focused.
(Y/n): APOCALYPSE DRAGON ROAR!
A beam of white and red magic energy shot from my mouth and toward the mountain. A loud BOOM was heard before I opened my eyes and saw that the mountain was nothing but dust and debris.
Fatalis: Excellent, child. Looks like I've taught you well.
Timeskip brought to you by chibi (y/n) taking a refreshing swim in the ocean
Night came and I was feeling a really sleepy.
Fatalis: Climb on my back, we should be heading home.
I did as I was told and climbed on to his back. I laid down and felt my eyes getting heavy as I drifted off to sleep.
I woke up to see the sun above me. My eyes squinted as they adjusted to the light. I sat up and noticed the sword that Fatalis gave me resting on the grass beside me. I now notice that I was in the clearing, and Fatalis was no where to be seen. The earth wobbled as I got to my feet.
(Y/n): FATALIS?
No answer.
(Y/n): FATALIS?!
Still no answer.
(Y/n): DAD?
Nothing but silence.
