Staying awake in class:
- try to at least get 6-7 hours of sleep every night
- make sure to eat breakfast and lunch
- do some stretches in your chair (legs, arms etc)
- Drink water to regulate your body
- Apples are more likely to be more powerful at keeping you stay awake than caffeine
- Method: Hold your breath as long as you can and breath out slowly
- Take cold showers in the morning

Keep your grades an A:
- pay attention and participate in class. If anything confused you, come up with questions you could ask during class. Even if you understand the material, it doesn't hurt to ask some good questions.
- have smart friends. Having motivated friends dedicated to their studies will help you put a lot. You can ask them questions about things you don't understand. Sometimes they can explain it better than the teachers.
- when there's the opportunity to take notes, make sure they are clear. While you also want to be thorough, summarize the lecture instead of writing everything. And if you missed some notes, ask your friend if you can copy or tell them to send a recording of the lecture. Highlight Vocab words and star things that will be on the test.
- Take every opportunity at extra credit you can get. Never know if your grade would be deopped down. And when that does happen, it won't drop as much because of extra credit.
- If you got a bad grade on a test, don't be afraid to ask for a retake. I got a really bad grade and when I asked to retake it, it brought my grade way up. Don't be shy, let yourself take that opportunity when you can now.
- Never ever be absent. No matter what if you're sick, you'll save yourself in the future if you attend class. Health is important but school is more important. Missing one day of school can do a lot of damage especially if you're often absent from school
- Don't study with friends. Study with people that perform better than you in that subject area.
- Find other activities that fill in your free time. It helps you from procrastinating and makes your schedule more productive. I took cross country and not only has it made me faster, but it also replaced my free time with a useful activity.
- Have a planner to organize all your homework. You'd be surprised how many times you'll text your friends for homework so be sure to be organized and keep it neat.
- Make sure your friends are keeping you updated on the latest notes & homework you missed the days you were absent. Missing one day of school can actually do a lot more pain than you would think.
- Don't pull all nighters. You're brain cannot function at its highest potential on lack of sleep or food.
- Get into the habit of finding a place to study. Your mind will associate that place with learning and studying so when you go there, you'll automatically bring your mind to learn and study
- Read on your own. I read every before I go to bed. This will increase your vocabulary, reading comprehension and creativity.
- Get most (if not all) of your homework assignments checked by your professors ahead of the due date. Almost all of them will be willing to go over it.
- Balance is important. Exercise, eat, journal and have a little fun. You don't want to burn yourself out from all that work.

Study Tips:
- Do hardest before easiest. It teaches your mind to get into the mindset of getting that outta the way.
- dedicate a desk to do your homework. It's so important to have a clean and quiet space where you can study without things getting in the way.
- get in the habit of doing your homework first and getting that sht out of the way
- study 30-50 minutes with breaks
- listen to lofi or classical music
- say your notes out loud and rewrite them to remember the notes better
- when reviewing notes and material, imagine the words being said in your teacher's voice
- Try using symbols or drawing something put visually memorize something. This works especially if you have to be able to list something. Sometimes you can even think of a story line or use a phrase to memorize it.
- To memorize something write it in blue ink
- If you're u feel overwhelmed or stressed, eating 10-12 almonds have the same effect as taking an aspirin

Stress:
- First off, stop complaining and saying your stressed while you feel stressed. What happens is when you say you're stressed, you associate the feeling you felt the last time you said you were stressed. Stop associating stress with that memory
- Write what you need to get down. Your mind can't process so many things at once so teach yourself to get things done one at a time
- Sometimes you may feel too tired to do anything and it can lead to procrastination and stress. - - Start by indulging in physical activity like exercising or yoga so you stay active and allows your brain to awake at all times
- Try breathing techniques and stretch to relive your mind
- Learn time management. When you have so many things to get done, always take every opportunity you can during school to finish your homework. Keep doing this and you'll start to build a really useful long term habit.

Other:
- Learn time management
- Be prepared at all times
- Stay organized
- Watch over your health (physical and mental)
- Remember that what you do or how you act doesn't define you, but it can create a reputation
- Don't hang around the wrong crowd
- Be involves in activities

Apps:
- slander (textbook answers)
- quizlet (studying & flash cards)
- photo math (answers with explanations)
