"Just let it be, Jiu, lets not recall those old stories, as theyve already passed. After six months, youll need to practice kungfu nicely to go through that Dark Forest. Shall I help you get a master? I know of a good kungfu master in the city, I can invite him"

"No!" Gu Xijiu chimed in, "I know my kungfu ability and I also know how to practice it. So, I dont have to trouble you, general. Please go back."

Gu Xietian had no choice but to go back.

When he got back to his yard, he recalled that he actually wanted to talk about something else but had forgotten after being scolded.

He actually wanted to ask for Gu Xijius favor to intercede with the emperor for the sake of Rong Yan and Gu Tianqing.

After all, Gu Xijiu was no longer the same. The emperor valued her very much and cared for her more than a princess by gifting her many things; he even called her into the palace to ask about her recent progress and the like.

From the degree of favor from the emperor, she probably could even convince the emperor to be more lenient with Rong Yan and Gu Tianqing in prison.

As Rong Yan was a prince, the son of the emperor, His Majesty would try to exempt him from death.

Nonetheless, Gu Tianqing was just a daughter of the general. After such incident, perhaps the emperor would think that she was the person who trapped his son, Rong Yan, hence, making her a scapegoat in the case of Count Le Hua, to provide an explanation for Duke Lu

These days, Gu Xietian had been working to save his daughter but to no avail. Hopelessly, he thought of Gu Xijiu

He could not contain himself and decided to go back to Gu Xijius yard.

Gu Xijiu did not expect his return and slightly frowned.

Gu Xietian braced himself and told Gu Xijiu about his request while observing her expression.

Gu Xijiu looked normal; she was just staring at Gu Xietian.

Her glare frightened Gu Xietian, yet he could not help but continue, "Jiu, daddy know that bastard, Tianqing has not been kind to you, but she has already received her due punishment in prison. Her child has also been miscarriedShe is after all, your elder sister. You cant see her die in prison, can you? Is it possible that you beg His Majesty when you enter the palace again?"

Gu Xijiu stopped him from continuing, "General Gu, here are my three points. First, she killed and she has to repay it with her own life. Second, she isnt my sister. My mom is Luo Xinglan and hers is Leng Xiangyu. And third, when she and Rong Yan were plotting against me, she didnt count me as her sister at all! If their plan had succeeded, Ill be bullied to death by Count Le Hua! You wouldnt have thought of that right?"

Actually, the true owner, Gu Xijiu had died in that incident!

It also meant that both Rong Yan and Gu Tianqing were indeed responsible for murder!

Though they did not kill Count Le Hua, they killed the true Gu Xijiu!

That poor kid had not received any love; she was alone all the time even till the day she died!

Where was Gu Xietian at that moment? Where was that fatherly love of his?!

Gu Xietian was completely speechless and turned slightly red, "Xijiu, I know... Im sorry, as your dad, Tianqing is sorry to you too. She plotted against you, you should be hating her but she didnt succeed, right? Fortunately, youre still alright now"

"Didnt succeed?" Gu Xijiu repeated again and teased, "General Gu, do you feel that your little girl deserves to be bullied to death? And that she also deserves to be plotted against and killed by your other daughter? Gu Tiannuo and your little girl Gu Xijiu had actually been marked and killed too! Are you treating Luo Xinglan fair enough? Is this how you show your remorse towards her?!"

Gu Xietian, ""

"Sometimes, a word of apology is unable to solve resentments or bring someone back. Im treating you fair enough for not hitting you in this case of Gu Tianqing! General Gu, please do go back and stop talking about this again!"

As Gu Tianqing failed to convince her, he left quickly.

Gu Xijiu went back to bed and yawned twice continuously. She then tapped on the bracelet on her wrist, "Little Cang, how are you doing now?"

The Firmament Stone did not send her any messages but dimly blinked once to show that it was still surviving.

That day at the Open Heaven Stage, it was the one which absorbed all the five colors of the lightning snake and released seven colors of light to surround her like Buddha

After the test which left Gu Xijiu dazzled with a vision, the Firmament Stone left Gu Xijiu its words and slumbered, "Master, Im almost stuffed to death, Id need to absorb them slowly"

Then, it slumbered and showed no signs of waking up yet.

When the vision showed up at that Open Heaven Stage, she thought it was Di Fuyi but with those words, she knew all the credit went to it.

However, she did feel that the Firmament Stone and Di Fuyi had an agreement in advance or else, Di Fuyi would not say that she was Holy Lord Scholar so smoothly, and how nobody could spot a single flaw.

Holy Lord Scholar

By the way that Di Fuyi lied, was he not afraid of being punished by the Holy Lord?

Or the seven colors of light was indeed the kungfu of the Holy Lord, whereby even Di Fuyi had misunderstood?

Gu Xijiu looked at the bracelet on her wrist and started to wonder if it was originally owned by the Holy Lord, when she recalled the scene when she first saw it.

This Firmament Stone was indeed faithful but it was also hiding something from her.

Gu Xijiu did try to trap it into telling the truth but she failed to.

This fellow looked talkative but it was indeed good at keeping secrets. When it did not want to say anything, it would close its mouth tighter than a clam and refuse to loosen up even when being pried open.

She closed her eyes for a while and slept before she knew it.

Outside the bed drapes, the candle dimed and a young man appeared in the room.

The young man had dark hair, purple robe, and a glistening pair of foxy eyes. Yes, he was the Celestial Master Zuo, Di Fuyi.

Gu Xijiu, who was in bed, seemed to have felt it. Her eyelids vibrated as if she wanted to open her eyes. Di Fuyi waved his sleeve and a faint smell had made Gu Xijiu fall back into slumber.

He stood in front of the bed and looked at her face with his sophisticated eyes. Nobody knew what was he thinking about.

Gu Xijiu could not sleep nicely. She tossed and turned, and kicked away the quilt.

She was wearing her handmade thin pajamas, which was rather cooling.

The pajama was rather unkempt and exposed her fair legs.

There was still a patch on Gu Xijius face, but her skin was still fairly white and the shape of the exposed legs was perfect.

If there were to be no accidents, she would have a pair of perfect legs when she grew up.

Her feet were looking good too. With just the perfect size and her five pinky toes, it drew people to yearn to hold it in their hands.

When Di Fuyi realized that he was not in a right state, he had already stared at her feet for a minute!

He coughed slightly and shifted his focus away.

What a little bastard - was she not afraid of the embarrassment for wearing such thin garments?

"Cold" Gu Xijiu, who was dreaming, muttered and curled her body up.

Di Fuyi slightly squinted his eyes.

Her legs curved towards herself with her arms folded on her chest while lying on her side, which was a sleeping position that showed insecurity.

This little girl seemed to be arrogant and strong, but she was in this position even when she was sleeping unguarded.

This position would soften a persons heart

"My dear, why would you kick away the quilt if youre cold? Are you looking for trouble?" He adjusted her pajamas tidily before he covered her with the quilt.

He found out that her little feet were cold, hence, knowing that she had a cold-intolerant body. he tucked in the quilt so that she was covered tightly, only exposing her little face and tiny hands.

He shifted his focus from her face to her hand.

The Firmament Stone was lying motionless on her thin wrist. It was probably seriously injured, as it was glimmering occasionally.

He touched the Firmament Stone as if he sensed something.

After a moment, he slightly frowned.

He could clearly feel all the spiritual power in the Firmament Stone, but it was not as much as expected.

He did order the Firmament Stone to absorb some of the five colors of the lightning snake and release its own seven colors of light onto Gu Xijius body.

Yet, he did not expect the Firmament Stone to absorb all the five colors of the lightning snake, much to everyone's surprise.

Though he did not say anything, he came to confirm his doubts.

The fact proved that he was right - the Firmament Stone had only absorbed less than one-third of the five colors of the lightning snake and the rest were absorbed by Gu Xijiu herself!

Naturally, Gu Xijiu's tiny body which had just opened some spiritual power, should not be able to withstand absorbing so much from the lightning snake with strong spiritual power and would probably explode. Yet, he did not expect that those absorbed into her body would disappear completely and could now not be detected

Would it be related to her special physical body?

Or probably it was because her soul had originated from another world?

He touched the red patch on her forehead lightly and his eyes darkened.

After a moment, he finally arose and disappeared with a blink of an eye.

With a ripple of water on the bed linen, Gu Xijiu woke up from her dream and opened her eyes.

She looked at the quilt covering neatly on the bed and slightly frowned.

She had a habit of kicking her quilt and it was unexpected that her quilt would be so neat when she woke up. She wondered if it was because of the cold weather?

She rubbed the spot between her eyebrows and ambiguously felt that she woke up once and fell right back asleep before she was truly awake.

And when she was in a state of stupor, somebody seemed to have come in.

She got flustered, woke up and wore her clothes.

Then, she quickly went around the house but she could neither find anything strange nor any sign of people coming in.

Was she being over-suspicious?

As it was still early, Gu Xijiu went back to bed to have more rest. After all, she was very tired for the last three days. She did not have to deal with those visitors but had been training hard to cope with the Dark Forest adventure after six months.

There were numerous types of spiritual powers in this world. Other than gold, wood, water, fire, and soil, there were also rare thunder talents and wind talents. Each type has a different practice method, thus requiring different books.

Gu Xijiu had tested herself and found out that she had double talents. One was the common fire talent, while another was the extremely rare wind talent, hence, requiring special books to practice with.

She could not find such book at the mansion of general. So, she could only ask for help by going to the crown prince, Rong Jialuo.

Rong Jialuo was not selfish towards her at all. He led her directly to the library of the palace and only found two relevant books after searching for a long time.

However, Gu Xijiu was rather disappointed because these two books were not basic but rather, at an intermediate version.

As she was a beginner, these books were definitely unsuitable, yet she could not find anything else.

Therefore, she could only take the two books back and tried to figure out some basics from these books.

She studied for one whole day yet failed to figure anything out.

That feeling was akin to a junior school student skipping algebra and immediately advancing to learns university-level calculus. She felt a headache studying them.

Therefore, she had to give up temporarily and started practicing her fire talent instead.

She had been practicing throughout the day and felt that she had improved her spirit power by a little.

She also talked to Rong Jialuo who had been through the Dark Forest a day before, as she wanted to understand the conditions above and below the third peak.

Rong Jialuos spirit power was a level six when he went through that Dark Forest. At that time, his spiritual power was considered very high at Tianxing Kingdom.

Yet, he could only reach the edge of the third peak. He was troubled greatly and almost lost his life as soon as he got there. He also was injured badly and had to come out with much difficulty

According to him, there were not only extremely ferocious beasts but also the omnipresent poison gas.

There was a swamp that can absorb people but acted like grasslands, a man-eating tree, a man-eating army of antseven the illusions could eat man

Even the Thunderbloods Mastiff which Gu Xijiu met, was very common in the Dark Forest.

From Rong Jialuo, Gu Xijiu finally got to know more about the Dark Forest and knew that she had to start practicing as soon as possible.

After all, she could only help herself when she reached the third peak.

Six months sounded long but in fact, it was a short period of time for her.

The ability of Gu Xijiu was not only very precious to the emperor, the other two countries were coveting on her too. Therefore, the emperor had ordered an imperial troop to protect the safety of the generals mansion and had sent four masters hiding beside Gu Xijiu to prevent any accidents from occurring.

With the protection from these people, Gu Xijiu was much safer.

Yet, she was on her guards deep within herself.

Guarding against Long Siye!

Guarding herself against being taken away secretly again to Tianwen mountain for the sake of his fiance

Neither can these masters that the emperor sent nor she herself could fight against a master like Long Siye.

After three days of guarding, she was slightly relieved as she did not see Long Siye at all. Yet, she wondered...

From what she saw, Long Siye seemed to be determined and would not give up regardless.

She did not expect that Long Siye would not appear after she was brought back by Di Fuyi. Had he given up?

Or did he stumble upon something?

It was actually good that he did not come. Gu Xijiu had wished that he would not come forever.

As for Di Fuyi who was like a plague, always turning up unannounced, had not been showing himself after the test.

Then, she got to know from Rong Che that Celestial Master Zuo went disappearing again. He had left Fucang Palace and nobody knew where he went. Even the emperor could not find him despite having something important to talk to him about

Celestial Master You too, did not come back at all. However, he did send a message to the attendants of his mansion that he was going to be back after half a month.

The emperor knew that Gu Xijiu needed to practice and ordered that no government officials and families could visit her at the mansion of general after three days.

The life of Gu Xijiu finally returned to peace, albeit temporarily.

....

A month had passed in just a blink of an eye. Gu Xijiu had been practicing hard and her spiritual power got better. Besides, she was growing taller as she was taking good care of herself.

She was shorter than 1.5 meters but had now grown up to 1.55 meters tall. More excitingly, her chest started to grow a tad bigger

As for the red patch on her face, it was disappearing gradually. Though the rate of its fading was slow, Gu Xijiu was joyful enough.

The red patch had turned pinkish, like peach blossoms, from the initial dark red color, hence, she could easily cover it with thicker make-up.

Gu Xijiu lived rather cozily too. Not only the fact that nobody was disturbing her, she could eat anything she wanted and do whatever she liked too.

The only dismal was the Firmament Stone was yet to wake up!

It seemed to have been addicted to sleeping. If it was not blinking to show that it was good when Gu Xijiu was talking to it, she almost thought that it was broken by the high voltage electricity!

Before the Firmament Stone could wake up, she could not practice her wind talent. She had been searching for books everywhere she could think of, including Celestial Master Yous place, but to no avail. She was very worried, but she could not do anything.

One night, she seemed to be dreaming.

She dreamt that she was walking around a mountain and entered a cave. After she entered, she felt that the cave looked familiar and remembered...

It was the cave she used to hide from the rain when she first came here. It was also where she met that jade statue and took away its cloth.

She was not expecting to visit the same cave again. Therefore, she went in, wanting to see if that jade statue was still around.

She finally got in and saw that carved jade statue!

It was still wearing clothes as white as clouds, had cascading long hair like a waterfall and was surrounded by mist. The differences were its ghastly mask that looked like it was frosted, emitting chills, and its position, sitting upright like Buddha.

Gu Xijiu still had her memory even she was dreaming. She was excited when she saw that the jade statue was still there!

She quickly went to it and took a look at that mask. It was made from materials she had not seen before and was glimmering.

As Gu Xijiu was alone in the cave, she wanted to take down the mask.

Before she could touch it, she suddenly felt a chill and an intimidating aura emitted from the statue, increasing her heart rate. Surprisingly, she looked up and her eyes met directly with those pair of eyes that had just opened!

Gu Xijiu, "!!!"

What? The jade statue was alive!

No, he was not even a jade statue, he was a living person!

No, he was not even a jade statue - he was a living person!

She retreated a few steps, and an idea struck her, "Youyou are the Holy Lord?!"

It was until that moment when she realized that though his hair was like jade and silver-white in color, they were truly real.

But she had a preconception that misled her to think that he was a jade statue

His eyes were bluish like the unpredictable deep sea with an on-and-off godly light in it. Watching them induced constriction and tension, making people want to worship him.

He was like a god sitting on a cloud and would let anyone buckle under pressure with just a glance.

For common people, they would have kowtowed soon after being suppressed by his intimidating aura.

But Gu Xijiu had never worshipped anyone and would not have believed in any god or ghosts if she had not crossed over to this world. Though her heart was beating fast and drops of sweat were dripping from the pores of her forehead at that moment, she did not even drop to her knees, only subconsciously taking a few steps backward.

He was staring at her and his eyes were emotionless.

Gu Xijius heart missed a beat. Though they were very close, with a distance of only three to four meters away from each other, she could not see his face clearly, not even the patterns of his mask, as wide as she tried to open her eyes. It seemed that he was using something to hide.

"I am sorry for trespassing ." She had after all, trespassed the place of another. So, she felt that she should apologize.

"I summoned you here." He finally spoke and his voice was like the flowing water - very magnetic and melodious.

Gu Xijiu was stupefied, "What?"

He stared at her, "Very unexpected?"

"Yes, a tad bit." Gu Xijiu nodded her head to confess.

"Since you call yourself the Holy Lord Scholar, why are you not kowtowing upon seeing me?" He spoke indifferently and coldly.

Gu Xijiu replied, "Im sorry. I didnt call myself a Holy Lord Scholar but somebody else did. I dont know"

"Who said it?" He said coldly, his aura as cold as ice and snow.

The silhouette of Di Fuyi flashed through Gu Xijius mind and she slightly looked downwards and replied, "Its nothing related to anyone. Perhaps I was misled. If you want to blame someone, you may blame me."

Di Fuyi did it for her sake, hence, she did not want to betray him.

"How were you misled?" He questioned persistently.

Gu Xijius heart was throbbing fast although she looked extremely calm, "I absorbed all the lightning snake's colors and emitted seven-colored lights. I thought that was something similar to your kungfu."

"I heard you claimed that I imparted kungfu to you in your dreams? Was it real?" He lightly tapped on the lotus seat and said more indifferently, "I want to hear the truth."

Gu Xijiu was thinking fast and understood that he had heard about everything that was happening at the Open Heaven Stage. As he was the first man, nay, the first god of this world, he was not easily cheated. Besides, he could take away her life anytime!

Gu Xijiu looked downwards and replied straightforwardly, "It was a mess in the dream. I vaguely can recall that somebody was imparting kungfu to me but I cant recall if he was you."

"But you depicted my clothing exactly! Have you seen me before?"

Gu Xijiu felt a headache as his question was getting more and more difficult.

She pursed her lips and revealed the truth partially, "Yes, I have been to this cave in my dreams and saw a jade statue. I only knew that statue was you, much later."

"A jade statue? Are you sure that was a statue?" He seemed to be interested.

How would she be uncertain of it? She touched it herself!

Im sure; Ive seen and checked it myself."

"What did you see and check?"

Gu Xijiu, "" Somehow, she felt that the question was rather strange.

"The texture; I felt it by with my hands" Gu Xijiu replied frankly.

"Are you sure that it was a jade statue and not a real man?"

Gu Xijiu was stunned for a moment and nodded, "Sure!" It was rather easy to differentiate a jade statue from a real man.

"Hahaha" He laughed coldly and he was suddenly being surrounded by seven dazzling colors of light.

Gu Xijiu was surprised and then she observed with her very own eyes, how he turned into a jade statue.

Gu Xijiu was shocked, took a step backward and stumbled onto something!

The white light was shining so brightly that she subconsciously closed her eyes. When she reopened her eyes, she found out that she was still in her own room.

The Holy Lord, the jade statue, and the cave had all disappeared.

Looks like it was just a dream!

She actually dreamt of that jade statue being resurrected! It first turned into the Holy Lord before turning back into a jade statue

She sat up but her heart was still beating fast.

She rubbed her forehead and an idea flashed through her mind, "Would that jade statue she touched be a real man? The Holy Lord?"

It should not be! How could that jade statue be a real man?

She did verify it at that point in time. Every part of the statue was made of jade and felt nothing like a regular mans skin. It was indeed a jade statue!

Would that jade statue be spiritual?

After pondering for a moment, she shook her head. It was, after all, an absurd dream. Thus, it was rather silly for her to analyze it.

Though she thought so, she felt it was somehow strange.

It was already dawn, she woke up to wear her clothes and teleported to that cave after briefly doing some packing

Her memory was very good, so she was able to quickly find it although it was located very remotely.

The cave still looked like the cave she explored before. It was located in the middle of the cliff, which was as smooth as a mirror. Therefore, nobody could easily climb up and go into the cave.

If she could not teleport, she would not have gone up to escape the rain and chance upon that statue.

She stood on the ground below the cliff for a moment with her heart beating slightly faster than usual.

Would that jade statue be still around?

Would it be like what she saw in her dreams, with it hiding nicely inside, with a mask on its face?

She listened carefully and was shocked to hear that there seemed to be some movements inside the cave!

Of course, it sounded very soft and vague. Nobody could hear it without listening carefully.

Had that jade statue possibly have resurrected? Would the Holy Lord be inside?

She slightly gripped her fingers and felt that her dream was not simple after all

She was always courageous. With determination, she launched herself to the entrance, not by her teleportation technique but with Qing Gong!

After practicing for a month, she had accomplished a lot and was almost fifty percent as good as her Qing Gong abilities in her previous life.

This cliff of a hundred meters high, she could go up quickly into the cave with just a few taps of her feet.

The cave seemed to be set in a way that it was very dark despite the broad daylight.

Luckily, she had better spiritual power already, hence, she could see clearly in the dark cave.

The wall of the cave was rough and irregular like stones.

Gu Xijiu slightly frowned as she briefly remembered that the cave she trespassed did not look like this

The wall of the cave was flat and neat like it was man-made. There was also a pavilion located deep in the cave, while the jade statue was found in the middle of that pavilion.

She walked into the cave and the lights dimmed down so much that she could not see clearly despite her good eyesight.

Did she look into the wrong cave?

Gu Xijiu turned her body and wanted to go out. Suddenly, she seemed to have noticed something and suddenly turned back again!

A pair of lanterns!

A pair of green lanterns!

Each lantern was about the size of a teacup - so green, they looked terrifying!

Gu Xijiu, ""

She almost broke into a cold sweat! Those were not lanterns but the eyes of a ferocious beast!

A strong wind suddenly blew!

The two lanterns swooped towards her!

...

After an hour...

Gu Xijiu sat on a protruding stone, tidied her messy sleeves after the intense fight, tied up her hair and stood up to kick the uni-horn giant snake that she just killed. She felt that her legs were rather feeble now.

She had no idea what type of snake it was. It was about 50 meters long and was as thick as a bowl. Unexpectedly, it had a sharp uni-horn on its head. It could spout out poison liquid, gas, and even fire. Besides, its scales were much thicker than the scales of a pangolin. When she was fighting against it, she had slashed at it a few times with her sword but she could not cut out a single scale.

Though the body size of the snake was very huge, its dexterity was unexpectedly better than a rabbit's. When it was swishing and swaying in the cave, it looked like a ribbon of thunder -

extremely aggressive!

Gu Xijiu had been practicing her internal power for a month now. Therefore, she thought of testing out her skills and started fighting against it.

She knew some strange kungfu and with relatively good internal power, she could easily apply her Qing Gong and teleportation. Therefore, she went around the snake, disappeared and showed herself suddenly on its left, its right, its top, and its bottom to confuse it and make it dizzy. Therefore, she could slash at it a few times with her sword despite its swift moves

After about an hour, Gu Xijiu finally found its weakness and stabbed through its mouth into its brain and killed it.

The fight sounded simple but it was extremely dangerous. She would not have won with her original ability and would have ended up becoming its food.

From applying, she knew that her battling skills would improve very quickly.

After the fight, she managed to master some methods, as she summarized the experience and lesson she learned from the fight with the beast.

She had been questioning Long Jialuo and knew that such a poisonous python was present at the second peak of Dark Forest. However, she did not expect that she would have to face it much earlier

She took a short rest and started searching around the ruined cave.

Everyone knew that the poisonous and giant beast enjoys guarding something. As this giant python was big, strong and was hiding in the cave, it probably was hiding something precious

She was a professional in searching, thus she quickly found a white jade casket where the giant python was crouching on.

The white jade casket was not big and had a complexed built-in lock.

Gu Xijiu probed the white jade casket for a moment and after she confirmed that it was not poisonous, she lifted it to take a look and brought it close to her ear to listen to any noises. She felt that it had something thin within.

What was it that the poisonous python was guarding?

Could it be a medicinal plant or something precious?

The built-in lock of the white jade casket was extremely complicated but it was not a big deal for a veteran like Gu Xijiu. She took only a while to break it apart and used a thin stick to pry open its cover.

There were not any hidden weapons or a mechanism that shot out poison. So, she took a look and saw a neatly folded silk item.

The color of the silk was old and fading, obviously, it was at least a few years old.

After confirming that the silk was not poisonous, Gu Xijiu took out the silk and slowly opened it.

Then, her eyes brightened!

It was actually a silk book!

The stack of silk looked thin but it actually turned out to be a book with more than ten million words after she opened it.

More excitingly, it was actually a book about wind talents, for basic to intermediate level practitioners. The little wordings were luminous, hence, Gu Xijiu could see them clearly in the dark.

She was worried that she would not be able to get a book to practice her wind talent, but this would undoubtedly be a great help!

Gu Xijiu originally came here to verify her dream if the jade statue was still around but little did she know that it would turn out to be such an adventure.

She went on searching around the cave for a little longer but she did not find anything else.

She too, did not see the pavilion where she found that jade statue, and the structure of the cave was far from what she remembered it to be.

She had been racking her brains trying to verify the cave again and again, that if this cave was supposed to be that cave

There should be only one possibility for such incident to occur, which was the cave she trespassed before had a legendary enchanted boundary where the jade statue was located, which she accidentally crossed over.

Probably that enchanted boundary had now disappeared or was better hidden, hence, she could no longer find it

She recalled that dream and had a thought - would that jade statue be the Holy Lord? Was he hinting her to come over in the dream?

The guess was more reasonable but she felt it was absurd too.

The Holy Lord was a character with the highest status in this world and would not talk to any commoners. He might not show himself for the next few hundred years; even the two Celestial Masters, Zuo and You, along with the three overlords could barely see him. So, why would he help an insignificant person like Gu Xijiu?

If there had to be a reason, that would probably be because she had stripped him of his clothes before

She shuddered because if she really did strip him, she reckoned she would be killed.

How would he repay her with kindness?

Her little counselor, the Firmament Stone was still in bad shape and could not communicate with her. Therefore, Gu Xijiu could not ask about the characteristics of the Holy Lord.

Maybe the Holy Lord was a god, with godly characteristics. Therefore, he would not be like any regular Joe and would instead, pay resentment with kindness.

When Gu Xijiu thought of this, she was touched and bowed towards the inner part of the cave, "Thank you for giving me the book. If Ive offended you, I sincerely apologize. If you need my help, please do let me know in my dreams. Ill definitely do my best"

As such a kind act could not be repaid with just a word of thank you, Gu Xijiu made that wish.

Nobody responded in the cave. It did not seem like there was anyone in there too.

Gu Xijiu left and the cave returned to its silent state.

There was a cliff opposite the cave three people had appeared on a big tree where its branches were twisted.

One of them was wearing a white robe, had dark hair and was also wearing a ghastly mask -

he was Holy Lord indeed.

Behind him, there were two handsome young men looking at Gu Xijiu leaving and one of them sighed, "This girl is indeed a genius! With only a level two spiritual power, she dared to fight against this uni-horn viper and won the battle!"

"Thats right. This uni-horn viper is extremely ferocious and is also a quite a battle for people with a level four spiritual power. With just one mistake, one would easily die. Therefore, its better to escape if one ever chances upon it. Nevertheless, this little girl did not even want to run away but instead, put up a good fight. I was actually very nervous just now, fearing that she would be swallowed alive."

"Mu Lei, you think too much. With our Holy Lord here, that little girl would be alright." Another person shook his head.

"Thats right. Our master does care for this little girl" Mu Lei nodded.

"Holy Lord, what do you think of her performance this time?" Mu Feng asked, rather daringly.

"How could the person I choose be poor?" The Holy Lord drawled.

The two young men, ""

Mu Lei, "The little girl is indeed different"

Mu Feng taunted, "If she wasnt different, how would the Holy Lord place his efforts on her and claim that she is his scholar? He definitely has to train her to prevent her from humiliating the name of the Holy Lord."

"Do the two of you really not have anything else better to do?" With just a sentence, the Holy Lord shut their mouths instantly! They carefully observed their master, afraid if their very particular master would agonize them again if he was unhappy.

Fortunately, the Holy Lord did not mean to trouble them. Instead, he was tapping on the branch, pondering.

The surrounding became extremely quiet.

"Mu Feng, hows Long Siye?" Holy Lord suddenly asked.

"Replying the Holy Lord, hes still receiving his punishment at the Brahma region."

The Holy Lord slightly nodded and kept quiet.

Both Mu Feng and Mu Lei met eyes and acknowledged that they were both sympathizing Long Siye.

The name 'Brahma' sounded fancy, as though it was a merciful place when it was, in fact, a place of sufferings.

The living condition there was extremely bad, not because of the extreme topography or ferocious beast & poisonous mist, but rather the bad condition which changes according to the victim's spiritual power.

For example, if a person with a water talent was receiving his punishment, the condition will change to arid soil.

Long Siye had wood talents, so it was a hell of a fire. That fire would drain body liquids out and cause an extreme burning sensation

The Holy Lord was usually kind, especially towards his four disciples who received the heavenly gift. Though he always gave them some troubles, he would not punish them by sending them there.

Nevertheless, Long Siye deserved such serious punishment as he had kidnapped Gu Xijiu and disturbed the heavenly gift test - it was indeed unexpected.

Mu Feng slightly hesitated, "Holy Lord, I heard that the protective boundaries of Tianwen mountain were destructed before Long Siye came to receive his punishment. He had spent lots of his spiritual power and eight whole days to repair it"

"Yes? So?" Holy Lord shifted his focus towards him.

Mu Feng plucked up his courage to continue, "Hes been at Brahma region for almost a month now... can he be released now?"

Holy Lord slightly frowned and thought about it briefly while tapping on a tree branch and said indifferently, "You are right, a month is the longest for a person to be in Brahma region. Let him out and then put him in the Aqua Sky Court so that he can rest for a few months."

Mu Feng, ""

The two young men were looking at each other again. Though Aqua Sky Court was the place for people with water talent to recharge themselves, it could be considered as a good place for Long Siye to rest, as wood required water too.

Nonetheless, resting there was a suffering because it was a frozen world which was much colder than the North Pole.

Was it good for Long Siye to enter the frozen world immediately after the hell of fire?

Poor Overlord Long - he had to experience both a freezer and a furnace!

Holy Lord glanced at him, "Are you not going away now?"

The two young men were shocked and knew that they could not change the Holy Lords mind anymore. Therefore, they quickly replied and ran away as quickly the fury of a tornado.
