N E W Y O R K
new york:
a city of lights,
bursting in the darkness of the night
after the sun slips behind looming buildings,
an amber glow;
a city of dreams,
broken and chased after.
everyone meets at the subway,
veins running under bustling crowds,
lost in running streets.
icy fingertips curled within hanging sleeves,
faces wrapped in turtlenecks and scarves,
watching blowing hair and turning leaves.
wonderstruck,
much explored,
much yet to discover.
