Alec and Stiles were hanging out in Stiles' room before the lacrosse game. They were doing homework together despite being in separate grades. Stiles figured out that Alec was pretty much a genius. He was in advanced math and biology plus he also took chemistry despite not being in the right grade to take that. Suddenly Noah burst into the room.
"Drop what you're doing. I'm taking you both out to dinner. Whatever you want." Noah exclaimed happily. Alec smiled seeing the man so happy knowing he helped at least a little bit.
"Dad, I don't think a man of your debts should be treating anyone to anything." Stiles said. Alec rolled his eyes knowing that Stiles stll didn't believe a word he said about paying everything off.
"Well, we no longer have to worry about any debt." Noah told him sending a glance at Alec. Stiles noticed the envelope that Noah was holding and got curious.
"What is that?" He asked pointing at the envelope.
"A letter of apology from Eichen House. Apparently, they've decided to pay us some extra money since our debt was already paid by Alec. They wanted to give a compensation since you know you and Lydia almost got murdered." Noah told them making Alec raise his eyebrows and for Stiles to look at Alec.
"They can do that?" Alec asked never hearing of something like that happening.
"They can do it and they did it." Noah told him still grinning.
"So you were serious huh?" Stiles asked Alec. He couldn't believe that Alec would do that but at the same time Alec did say he would do anything for him.
"Yep." Alec nodded.
"I can definitely afford to take my son and his boyfriend out to dinner. Alec, what's your favorite food?" Noah asked the younger boy who thought for a second.
"Pizza."
"So Stiles how'd you tell your dad." Alec asked after they started walking down to the cars.
"He ran into the house then screamed. When I asked what happened he said that you said yes then passed out. I used context clues to figure the rest out." Noah answered instead making Alec laugh out loud and Stiles to turn a deep shade of red. Stiles sputtered trying to say something that would make it seem better but he couldn't think of anything at all. That made Alec laugh even harder.

After dinner with Noah, Stiles and Alec had to be at the high school for their game against Davenport Prep. Scott and Kira were nowhere to be found and Liam looked like he was going to have a panic attack without Scott around.
"Everything's fine." Alec told him not wanting to deal with a freaked out Liam.
"I got a text from him this morning and he said he might be a little late." Stiles said. Liam didn't look any better in fact he might have looked worse. If Alec didn't know any better he would have assumed that Liam and Scott were dating or something. Liam would be the clingy one in the relationship.
"Well, how late is late? Is he always late? We're playing Devenford Prep again and this time it's an actual game." Liam asked. The kid looked like he was going to break down and cry any second now. Alec couldn't help but wonder if Scott was like this when he was first bit too. Liam kept mumbling things to himself about Scott. "He shouldn't be late."
"Who shouldn't be late?" Coach asked coming up from behind the three boys scaring the shit out of Stiles.
"Scott and Kira." Alec answered shrugging.
"They might be slightly late." Stiles told him after his heart started to properly work again. Alec sent him an amused glance.
"Slightly late is still late. What are they doing?" Coach asked getting slightly annoyed. Alec rolled his eyes knowing that coach couldn't be that oblivious. Everyone could feel the sexual tension between the two of them.
"They're doing something that's going to make them slightly late." Stiles told him not wanting to be the one to tell coach what was probably actually going on.
"What could Scott and Kira be doing right now that's more important than playing in the first game?" Coach asked only thinking about lacrosse and nothing else.
"Oh, Coach." Stiles sympathized. He refused to say anything more about it to coach feeling awkward.
"They're probably gonna fuck." Alec deadpanned. Liam, Stiles, and coach all choked on their spit at the bluntness. Stiles and Liam looked at Alec mortified while coach just started laughing.
"I knew there was a reason I liked you." Coach told him making Alec smirk.

It wasn't even twenty minutes later when Liam spoke up again. Alec couldn't help but think that Scott was the only thing ever on that boys mind.
"They're still not here." Liam practically whined.
"Okay, what's really going on? Are you nervous about the full moon? It's not for another 24 hours." Stiles asked finally getting fed up with Liam. Alec has been fed up the moment he smelled Liam's anxiety, but they're like friends or whatever so he stuck it out wanting to help him.
"Liam, you're gonna be fine." Alec told him trying to make it sound sincere instead of forced, but based on Stiles look he didn't do the best job.
"Okay? Just try not to rage out on anyone." Stiles told him sounding way more sincere then Alec probably ever could.
"You're not worried?" Liam asked. Alec wanting to say just how worried he was, but that wouldn't help anything.
"Okay, I'm mildly concerned. Mildly." Stiles told him before sending Scott a text. Alec read it over his shoulder and couldn't help laughing at it.
'How late you gonna be? Very worried. Very.'
Alec loved the faith that Stiles had in Liam. Alec missed the look on Stiles' face as he looked at Alec, but Liam didn't. Liam smiled happy that his friend has someone that cares for him like that, whether he knows it or not.
"We're gonna lose without him." Liam said looking at the two other boys.
"No, we're not." Alec said gesturing to himself before winking to Liam.
"We can be just as good without Scott. Okay? I've been practicing. Let me tell you something. I'm getting good. Really good." Stiles seemed extremely confident in his abilities which is good because he's going to start of the match.

Ten minutes into the game and coach already called a time out and Stiles ran over to Alec and Liam who were already waiting on the bench. Liam and Alec glanced at each other before turning their attention to Stiles.
"Yeah." Liam said nodding his head towards Stiles.
"Real good Stiles. Never been more proud." Alec told him with his hand over his heart. Both younger boys couldn't help but make fun at Stiles because of how bad he was despite saying he’s been practicing. “Stiles I’ll take you out to help you practice one of these days alright?”
"I'm gonna call Scott again." Stiles nodded after agreeing to Alec’s help.

Halfway through the game Scott and Kira still haven’t shown up and coach was getting mad about how bad they were doing. Alec managed to score three goals while Devenford Prep had six, coach congratulated Alec as he ran towards the bench and glared at everyone else.
“Come on! All right.” Coach yelled glaring harder as Greenberg ran past him.
“Neither of them are answering.” Alec told Stiles as he kept checking his phone. It’s been half an hour since he texted Scott and Kira separately and neither of them answered him yet. Judging the look on Stiles face they didn’t answer him either.
“I gotta go see what's going on.” Stiles said getting more and more worried about his two friends.
“You're leaving? What are you going to tell Coach?” Stiles glanced at Alec before looking at coach as they watched him yell at other players.
“Stupid! Stupid!” He yelled, mainly at Greenberg who didn’t look upset at all.
“Uh, you don't tell him anything. Okay? Liam, you're gonna be okay. Alec will still be here. All right?” Stiles said starting to take some of his gear off. Stiles winked at Alec before running off.
“Want me to stay here if he shows up?” Malia asked as Stiles walked past. She was sitting with Noah since she didn’t know anyone else that was there that weren’t actually playing.
“Yes.” Stiles told his dad what was going on and they both left since Noah drove both Stiles and Alec.
“Liam! Alec! Get on the field!” Coach yelled. Everyone got back on the field and continued the game. Everyone started cheering making Alec tune it out so he could try and even out the score. A few minutes in and Brett tackled Liam, but Alec didn’t go towards them since Brett seemed to be telling Liam something.

Alec watched as Brett walked up to Liam in the locker room as he was sulking by his locker. Alec has been waiting at the door for the last five minutes watching him as he practically cried.
“You okay?” Brett asked him. Liam looked up at Brett as if he asked a stupid question.
“We lost.” Liam told him making Brett roll his eyes. Apparently that wasn’t what he meant. Alec also rolled his eyes, they barely lost it was like a point or two.
“But you're okay, right?” Brett asked again. Liam looked up at him in recognition before looking confused.
“Why'd you do that? Why'd you help me?” Alec didn’t know what Liam meant but he assumed it had something to do with Brett tackling him during the game. Alec listened more intently wanting to know what was going on.
“Because of Scott and Alec.” Brett said making Alec even more confused. What did he have to do with Brett helping Liam. “They saved me. They saved all of us. Do you know how lucky you are?”
“What do you mean?” Liam asked more confused than before. Alec was also curious on why Liam would be lucky that involved Scott and Alec.
“Scott's a True Alpha. That means he didn't get his power because he was born with it. He didn't get it by stealing or killing someone. He earned it.” Alec nodded his head understanding why they would be lucky to have Scott but he still didn’t know what was so great about himself. Apparently Brett wasn’t done talking though. “Satomi also says that Alec isn’t a normal beta. That he’s something more powerful. You're not strong just because you can lift a lot of weight now. You're strong because you endure. Satomi calls it strength of character. You're lucky to have them.”
“Then why isn't Scott here?” Liam whispered to himself as Brett walked away. Alec was focused on how he isn’t a normal beta and what could possibly make him so special.
