Karry's pov :
'Today's our 8th anniversary..... So I wanted to do something special for her. What should I do? " I asked myself stretching my head . She was so special to me - she was like a part of me that I never had thought I would find. She always made me smile even when I was upset of felt down. "Dude, how about taking her for a drive? Like a long drive? You've got your driver's licence didn't you? " Roy asked cocking his head towards me. 'Yes I did get my driver's licence but i was somehow nervous about this idea. "Yeah, it's not bad like you can take her out for a small picnic alone? " Jackson replied. All three of us were in Jackson's room, well we were hanging out. "That's not bad. But let me think about where to take her " I replied. "You can also just call her here and have a movie Marathon, i believe it'll also be a good one. Me and Jackson will both be busy tomorrow and your schedule is free Tomorrow isn't it? " Roy asked looking at me. "Hm.... That's not bad. I guess that's okay. I wonder what type of movies she'd like " I told saying the last sentence in a soft whisper to myself .
"So.... What do you do on during a movie Marathon? " I asked the both of them jerked towards my direction, "dude you don't know? " Roy asked, I shrugged my head. I really didn't know what it actually meant. "Bro, you sit on the couch or on the bed, and watch movies together with food surrounding you " Jackson replied quoting the food surrounding you part with his fingers. "Hm.... " was all I said. I was wondering what kind of movies would be watching. "I'll go to the store once " I told them and went to my room to get my wallet and my phone. As I went to the door someone knocked on the door. I looked at the watch, it was 9:30 am. "Who can be here at thus hour" I told myself as I peeped from the camera. It was my mother. I quickly opened the door and the moment she saw me, she engulfed me into a warm hug.
"Kaikai, it's been a while how have you been? " she said. "Yes, it had. I missed you a lot too. But what bring you here? " I asked, i was surprised by her sudden visit. "Honestly, I came here to give you a surprise visit " she said giving a radiant smile. "That's sweet of you ma, why don't you come in and take rest, I think it must have been a tiring journey " I said taking her bag and leading her inside. "It was a little bit but - KAIKAI ! (y/n) she lives around here doesn't she? " she asked suddenly turning towards me, I nodded my head unsure of why she asked such a question. "That's great! Can you call her over for dinner tonight? I really want to meet her and also I was going to cook dinner so... Please ask her to come to have dinner and also I'll make something tasty for you boys so tell Yuan and Qian xi too okay?" she said as she made her way into the kitchen. "Okay... " was all I said.
"And kai can you run an errand for me? Can you buy the things written in the list? " she said giving me a list. It had been a while since I did some chores for my mom. "And I'll be coming so -" before she could finish I cut her off, "ma, its fine. You can take rest, you'll be tired ". "My, my kai has grown up so much. okay you go and don't forget to tell her to come for dinner okay? " I simply nodded my head. I went out of the dorm after carrying my wallet and phone. I wore a jacket over my hoodie as it was really cold but it wasn't snowing yet - I wondered why.
I was really nervous about her meeting my mom because when it comes to me, my mom could be called a little protective especially when to comes to the girl I chose as my future. Maybe it is a Little too early to decide my future but it was the truth - I did really want to spend my future with (y/n) that was the plan and I intend to keep it. As soon as I went out, I called (y/n) after a few rings, she picked it up :
Me : Hey princess ~ (my mouth curved into a smile. Calling her princess always brought a smile to my face and I liked calling her that)
Her : Hey ~
Me : Uh..... You at home? I wanted to ask you something.
Her : Yeah... I'm at home. Sure go ahead.
Me : Well come over to my place for dinner tonight okay? Don't make other plans.
Her : Uh....I'll have to ask my mom but why so suddenly?
Me : Well ( I couldn't tell her, she might say no) I felt like having dinner with you....
Her : oh.... That's unusual. But sure I'll ask my mom and message you?
Me : Sure thing. Tell mother that I'll come kidnap you if you don't come * I let out a small chuckle ,i could hear her laugh *
Her : This guy, I'll see you later, love ya .
Me : Hahaha see you later love.
After the call ended I smiled. My wallpaper was our photo, the one which Roy took during the summer festival. 'I'm thankful for that guy ' I said to myself. "Man ! I forgot to tell Roy and Jackson that my mom had come ", I quickly messaged Roy
Hey! Mom mom made a surprise visit and she'll be staying for the night I guess. Plus she'll make us dinner.
After I finished typing I send the message. I put the phone in my pocket and headed out for my little errand. It took only about 15 minutes to reach from the dorm to the supermarket. I wore a mask just in case people would notice. But I was happy that people gave us privacy sometimes. But there were some fans who would come to take photos and autographs and then bam - we had to take off then because the areas would become too crowded. Luckily today there weren't many fans around. I took a cart and went in the supermarket - grocery hunting as I could label it. Well when we name it as grocery hunting and all it becomes more exciting doesn't it?. I got a buzz from my phone so, I stopped the cart and took out my phone, there were two, messages one from Roy and the other was from (y/n) .
Roy~
Bro, we know when me and Jackson went down to have some snacks we found your mother in the kitchen. She fixed us some pork noodles - it was heavenly 😚😚.
Princess ~
Hey ~ mama said she's okay with it. 😁 so I guess I'll be coming so at around what time?
I quickly started typing a message in reply,
Princess, come at around 5:00 pm. I have a surprise for you 😚😂. Wear something comfy and warm - it's ridiculously cold here and I don't want you to catch a cold. See ya ❤
After sending the message I put the phone in my pocket and started my quest of hunting the groceries.
After I was done with my shopping I checked out at the counter. I wasn't that good with asking discounts to be honest but my mom she could bargain. I paid for the items and went out. "It's weird that it's not snowing yet " I self noted as I went out. After another 15 more minute I reached the dorm. I rang the doorbell and surprisingly Jackson opened the door, "let me help you with that " he said carrying half of the things, "thanks " I muttered.
After safely delivering the items I went to, check up on my mom, she was sleeping in the guest room. "Kai, me and Roy will be having a sleepover at my place tonight " Jackson said as he came towards me. "Wah, then after having dinner? My mom wanted to cook for you two too ...." I said trailing off, "Yesh don't worry man~ we'll go after dinner, " he said giving me a bright smile. It made me really happy one way because things especially the atmosphere won't be that cold, awkward and nervous anymore. I was really nervous about her meeting my mom. As if he read my thoughts,Jackson reassured me "Kai don't worry your mother is going to like (y/n) for sure " . I smiled, I was grateful that I had wonderful friends like these two.
Time skip ~
I took a glance at the wall clock, 4:30 pm it showed. 30 minutes before she came, I was helping my mom prepare the dishes which we were supposed to have tonight. "Ma, the soup's done so I'll leave it here and go change my clothes " I said and after hearing an okay from her I turned off the stove and put the utensil on the table. I went up my room, directly to my bathroom, to have a quick shower.
After showering I changed my clothes - i wore grey sweatpants with a dark green hoodie ,black socks and wore the slippers we wear at home - yes, we have different slipper for wearing in the dorm, the bathroom and outside. It was more convenient because we didn't have to worry about dirtying the dorm while wearing shoes which we wore outside, inside.
I went out after changing and as I reached the bottom of the stairs and made my way towards the kitchen, the doorbell rang. I went to get the door and when I opened the door, she was standing outside . She looked adorable in those clothes. She was wearing a grey pullover, with a black over coat and blue jeans. "Um.... Hey?" She said giving me a bright smile . "Hey.. You look pretty as ever " I couldn't help but compliment here, I could see the pinkness forming in her cheeks. "Come in you and give me you coat, you can wait in the kitchen " I said as I took the coat from her hands and gave her a pair of slippers to wear. I took the coat and hung it on the, cloth rack by the door.
When I went inside, I saw mum and (y/n) talking about some things. (y/n) and my mom were looking every happy together. Seeing them both happy made me more than happy.
Noticing me come in, they stopped their conversation, "KaiKai why did you tell me that she was this wonderful? She's such, a dearie " my mom said giving me a warm smile, I didn't say anything I just smiled in return. "Oh my call Yuan and Qianxi too, well start the dinner,(y/n) dear would you help,me out in setting up the table?" She asked (y/n),"sure thing aunty " she replied with a bright smile. "Dear, call me mother or mum like how kaikai calls me okay? " she said. This statement of hers made both of us really surprised. "Okay...mum " she said with a little tint of pink on her cheeks.
Time skip ~
The dinner went well. The atmosphere wasn't as quite as i had imagined it would be we'll honestly the atmosphere was really warm - it felt like we were already a family. This made me more excited as to how my future would be with (y/n). Just thinking of that made me really happy. It was around 7 that Roy and Jackson departed for Jackson's house. "Eh.... Mom, I'll be going the dinner was delicious and it was fun. Thank you for having me" she said smiling. "Aiya sweetie, don't worry. Why don't you stay for the night? " her sudden response made me really surprised. I looked at (y/n) and she was wearing the same face of shock. "Mom.... It's okay. My brother came to pick me up. He's by the corner" she replied smiling. "Awww....okay. Kaikai take the responsibility of dropping her off till the car " ma said and I nodded my head. "I'll bring your coat, wait by the door" I said to her and I went to take her coat.
After talking for a bit with my mom she came back all flustered. I wonder what she did. She was wearing her coat so I helped her wear her shoes. Isn't it a man's job to help his woman when she need it?. I lead her out of the door . The moment we steppes out of the door and entered the surroundings, it started to snow. "Woah.... Tonight's the first snow of This year.... " I said smiling. "Yeah.... The snow's really pretty " she said reaching her hand out and touching the snow flakes. "You like it? " I asked looking at her. "It's beautiful " she replied not taking her eyes off the tiny flakes that were falling . "That's good to know. One more thing off my bucket list " I said smiling with triumph in my voice.
"Bucket list? " she asked looking at me,,"yeah a list of the things I wanted to do with you . And this was one of them - watch the first snow together with you " I said smiling. She looked really flustered. I couldn't take it anymore i pulled her into a warm embrace. "Thank you for coming today. And thank you for your presence in my life " I said in a soft voice. How I wish time could just stop by in this moment. "You bring me joy like the first snow on a winter evening " I told myself.
