I put my bag on the top of my trunk, ready to get inside the toasty cabin and escape this horrific weather. The parking lot for our school was huge, but as I looked around, the first person I spotted was her. Even through the large crowd of around three hundred students, she was already staring back at me.

I opened my bag, so that I could sort it out, listening to whatever music was in my playlist, as we continued to stare at each other. It was like an intense battle with our eyes. Neither of us looking away. I looked back down at my bag after a little while, trying to pull something out of it, when I heard a loud car horn. I turned around, seeing a van slip dangerously across the ice. He'd lost control of the vehicle.

And it was heading straight for me.

I turned fully around, backing as far back against my truck as I could and gasping in shock. I fell down and suddenly, she was right there. She gently placed one hand underneath my back, making sure that I didn't hit the ground, whilst the other one was held out against the van. Once the van collided with her hand, it bounced, almost and moved in the opposite direction, a large dent now present where my head should have been.

I heard the back of the van collide with the back of my truck, but the front didn't touch me. It just stopped. I gasped, looking at the large dent. She had just stopped a van. She had just effortlessly pushed it away with her hand. No human could do that. It would crush their hand and then their skull soon after. But it just stopped.

I slowly looked up to meet her eyes, seeing them filled with confusion and surprise. As were mine. She was at the complete opposite side of the parking lot. How did she get over to me so fast?

Her dark hair fell, surrounding the sides of her face. She was so close. Even in that moment, I couldn't help but think about how beautiful she was. She was truly magnificent.

She gently let me down, so that I was sat on the floor, before letting go of me and simply, walking away. Not even seconds later, I heard people screaming my name with worry. "Mila!" I recognised that to be Demi's voice. She ran to my side, instantly checking to see if I was okay. Everyone began fussing over me. I didn't know what to say.

"Mila, I'm so sorry. I panicked." The driver of the other vehicle appeared, sticking his bleeding head out of the van's window. It was the same guy that had pulled Kelly's chair out that time.

"Camila!" Alejandro exclaimed, as he entered the hospital room I was sat in. He was definitely worried. I could see it on his face. "You okay?"

He looked at the guy who was driving the van, who was sitting on the bed beside mine. There was only a curtain between us. "You and I are gonna talk." Alejandro told him, sternly. He was half in police mode, half in dad mode. "You alright?" He asked me.

"I'm fine, Dad. Calm down." I assured. I only called him dad to his face. I'd grown used to calling him Alejandro when he wasn't around. He put his hands on his hips. He looked mad and worried at the same time. Only one of those emotions was directed at me, though.

"I'm sorry, Mila, I tried to stop." The other boy apologised again. He seemed genuine. He seemed much more upset about hurting me than he did hurting his van and that was definitely something. The only thing was, he didn't actually hurt me. I wasn't hurt at all, but they insisted that I was checked out, anyway.

"I know. It's okay." I replied, trying to make him feel a little better, while the nurse messed around with my arms.

"No. It sure as hell is not okay." Alejandro argued, glancing around the room, worriedly.

"Dad, it wasn't his fault." I defended, not wanting to get the guy in trouble, when he hadn't actually hurt me. Apart from the small dent on the back of my truck, everything was fine.

"You could've been killed. You understand that?" He asked me, tucking his fingers into his belt. He was stubborn, so there wasn't much point in fighting with him, but I did anyway. I fully understood that I could've been killed.

"Yes... But I wasn't, so..." I trailed off, trying to get my point across. It was icy. The guy didn't deserve this when it wasn't hit fault. No one got hurt in the end, right? He turned to the guy once more.

"You can kiss your license goodbye." He told him, making the guy even more upset. I just sighed, feeling like I wanted to roll my eyes. I felt like that would only irritate him further though, so I didn't.

Just then, a pale man with light brown hair walked in. "I heard the Chief's daughter was here." He told us, as he walked over.

"Oh, Dr. Jauregui." Alejandro acknowledged. He was too pissed off to be nice right now.

Dr. Jauregui?

This man didn't look like Lauren at all, apart from the fact that his skin was as white as snow. He had very different features. He had a sharp, prominent jawline, light brown hair and dark blue eyes. He was also extremely tall and lanky.

"Alejandro." Dr. Jauregui greeted, nodding his head. He dismissed the nurse that was previously playing with my hands, so that he could look at me himself. "Karla." He read aloud, flicking through a few sheets of paper.

"Camila." I corrected, seeing him nod in understanding.

"Well, Camila, looks like you took quite a spill." He said, looking over one last sheet of paper, before he put it down. "How do you feel?" He asked, grabbing a small torch-thing.

"Good." I told him.

"Look here." He ordered, holding up his finger. I stared at the tip of his finger, as he shined the light in each of my eyes. "You might experience some post-traumatic stress or disorientation, but your vitals look good. No signs of any head trauma." He told me, finishing with what he was doing and putting the light down. "I think you'll be just fine."

"I'm so sorry, Mila. I'm really-" before the guy could finish his sentence, Alejandro grabbed the curtain and roughly pulled it over, so that the guy could no longer see us. It was rude, but it was better than him getting arrested.

"You know, it would have been a whole lot worse if Lauren wasn't there. She knocked me out of the way." I pointed out, trying to see what reaction Dr. Jauregui would have to that.

"Lauren? Your girl?" Alejandro asked, clearly talking to Dr. Jauregui. I nodded, already knowing the answer to that question.

"Yeah, it was amazing. I mean... she got to me so fast. She was no where near me." I explained, staring at her father's face. He didn't seem to have much of a reaction. Did she do this often?

"Sounds like you were very lucky." He told me, before giving me a small smile.

"I gotta go sign some paperwork. You should, uh... You should probably call your mom." Alejandro told me, as he swung my backpack over his shoulder. I stopped still for a second.

"Did you tell her?" I asked, afraid of the answer. He just lifted his hand, as if to say, isn't that an obvious question? This was going to cause so much drama.

"Ugh, she's probably just... freaking out." I explained, with a sigh. My mother had always been one to worry. I walked away from him, slipping my cell phone out of my back pocket, so that I could let her know I was okay. I planned to call her in the hall, so that I wasn't shouting over people. However, when I rounded the corner, I heard a familiar raspy voice.

"What was I supposed to do, then? Let her die?" Lauren asked, her tone defensive. She was talking to Ashley and her dad. I wasn't quite quite sure of his name just yet. Her and Ashley seemed to be in a pretty heated discussion.

"This isn't just about you. It's about all of us." Ashley fought back, shaking her hand to make her point more clear. I moved back for a second, but then let my head peep around again. I needed to talk to Lauren.

"I think we should take this to my office." Dr. Jauregui interrupted, nodding his head in my direction. Both girls turned to face me. Ashley looked annoyed, where as Lauren looked emotionless.

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" I pleaded, looking directly into Lauren's eyes. She seemed to be having a mental debate in her pretty little head. She didn't move, so Dr. Jauregui did.

"Ashley." He called, gently grabbing the girl's arm, before pulling her in the opposite direction. She scowled, but followed him anyway and I froze as Lauren approached me.

"What?" She asked, rudely. I stared at her in shock. I had so many questions. I didn't know what to ask first.

"How..." I trailed off, trying to think of the right question. "How did you get over to me to fast?" I asked, looking into her eyes. She seemed tense again. Uncomfortable and rigid. She seemed to always be like that.

"I was standing right next to you, Camila." She lied, making me want to scoff. How could she lie to me like that? I saw what happened.

"No." I corrected, not letting her make me believe I was stupid. "You were next to your car, across the lot." I told her, matter of factly. She couldn't get away with this. I wouldn't tell anyone, but she needed to explain.

"No, I wasn't." She said, laughing as if it was a joke. I knew she was. She wasn't going to do this to me.

"Yes, you were." I stated, anger rising in me. I wasn't going to deal with this right now. She couldn't make me feel any crazier than I already did. It wasn't fair.

"Camila, you're, uh... you hit your head." She told me, as if it were a joke. As if it were a fact and I was just completely crazy. But I knew I wasn't and I wouldn't let her make me feel like this. "I think you're confused."

"I know what I saw." I told her. And I did. I remembered it, because it all seemed to happen in slow motion for me. I remembered everything. Who, what, when, where, why and how.

"And what exactly was that?" She asked, seemingly angrier now. How could she be angry at me? She was so confusing! I knew what I saw, because it happened to me.

"You... you stopped the van, y-... You pushed it away with your hand." I answered her question and her face hardened even more. What right did she have to be angry?

"Well, nobody's gonna believe you, so..." She trailed off, looking away from my eyes for a second. I stared up at her angelic face, feeling like I wanted to slap and kiss her at the same time. Damn her.

"I wasn't gonna tell anybody." I told her, honestly. One, because, yes, no one would believe me and two, because I could never expose her like that. I still wanted to know what was going on, though. No human could do something like that and walk out perfectly fine. "I just need to know the truth."

"Can't you just thank me and get over it?" She suggested, raising a perfect eyebrow.

"Thank you." I replied, scanning her features again. I found myself doing that a lot. She seemed to scan my face too, but for a different reason.

"You're not gonna let this go, are you?" She asked, shaking her head.

"No." I answered back, honestly and shook my head. This only seemed to aggravate her more.

"Well, then I hope you enjoy disappointment."
