I stood in the doorway.
You were dancing.
Dancing with no goal.
Shuffling your legs, swinging your arms.
You looked like a fool.
But you were so cute.
So carefree.
Dance, little puppy.
I clapped when the song ended.
You whirled around, embarrassed that I had witnessed you dancing.
I laughed it off and stepped closer to you.
I knew I wasn't a good dancer like you.
But I could try something simple.
I took a hold of your small hand.
You licked your lips and shyly smiled at me.
I knew then that I couldn't live without you.
And deep down, you couldn't live without me.
You placed your hand on my shoulder.
I placed mine on your waist.
We intertwined our hands.
And we danced.
Twirled.
Spun.
At one point I dipped you.
And I saw your eyes.
Full of adoration.
Amazement.
Love.
And I kissed you.
But we were not alone.
