I didn't care anymore. I just didn't give a good goddamn about anything. I knew my foster mom cared and wanted to help, but really she made it worse. She was always bringing me soup or something else I wouldn't eat. all I could do was lie in bed, but I wasn't sick. I just had no energy at all.
The day she took me to see the first doctor was bright and sunny. I only know this because she opened my curtains and I pulled the covers over my head rather than get up to close them. Sometime around noon she came in and said to get up and get dressed. I must have looked at her like she was crazy, and she amended the requirements to just getting up.
Eventually I did, and the next thing I knew I was in the car staring out the window through my haze and thinking how nothing they did would change a thing.
