A cypress tree stood tall and firm
Glooming with a sort of yearn
I stare at it, oddly without a concern
Beside a gravestone filled with mourn
I looked beside me, a family filled with tears
But oddly, I feel nothing at all
I looked in the mirror, without a gleam in my eye
No emotions unveiled
No tears shed
What's happening to me?
There are no emotions that I could see
Am I dead?
I can't even tell
My heart beats without purpose
Patiently waiting for the time for it to stop
I look back at the cypress tree
And I scoffed, smirking bitterly
Oh dear cypress tree
You're there till the bitter end
My everlasting companion
A shade to my lonely grave
So when the time comes
And my body catches up to me
Only then I'll be truly dead
So when death do us part
I'll greet it as my first ever friend
Because we'll be best friends forever
And ever.
