So much for trying to survive, I took a second to look back at Mia and saw that she threw herself at the zombie. That second could have been useful on my part- I could have got up but no I just sit here like a complete dumbass. The zombie in front of me threw it-self on top of me and the impact send me lying on my back holding it back.
I manage to grip onto the zombies arms my elbows digging into the ground. Moving my head to the side to prevent it from biting me only added more to my struggle I was slowly losing my grip from the burn to my elbows. Mia’s growls floated beside me and it sounded like she was having trouble.
“Close your eyes!” someone shouted.
I did as I was told and felt the whoosh of air and the sound of impact made me flinched further into the ground. I felt something wet on my face and remained on the ground, my hold on the zombie’s arms fell and I immediately shoved it to the side and turned to my other side.
“Keep your eyes closed I’m going to wash your face,” Ronald instructed and I let out a small okay.
The water was cold and I jumped at contact and just laid there washing away the blood, when it was off I opened my eyes and took Ronald’s hand to get up and saw Mia right by his side.
“What the hell are you doing outside?” he demanded.
“I got curious to what was out here,” I meekly said, looking down at my feet.
“Come on we better go back to inform everyone about this,” Ronald said, turning around and heading back to the front of the house, Mia following behind.
I caught up with him and said thank you but we can to a stop to find Jack and Luke running up the driveway and not far along a heard of zombies behind.
“Don’t thank me yet, hurry run inside and get everyone,” he ordered and ran towards Jack.
All at once question after question pop into my head and I could not breathe. We were leaving without Natalie? How far away from here will we go? What if I never find here? Would we be able to live long enough to find others?
I was too into my rant that I heard a loud bang right next to me and a thud on the ground. I look down and find a zombie on the ground.
“Damn it Alexis focus we have to go,” William said running inside the house. I followed behind him. Once inside everyone was already up and grabbing what was needed.
“Alexis!” Riley said and jogged towards me. “What is going on is Anthony okay?” she fired. I did not see him outside but I hope he is.
“I’m not sure Riley but there are a lot of zombies and we all have to leave now,” I said and went to go grab my bag by the couch.
“We have to go save him!” she panicked. I grab her wrist before she can move further, “No, Anthony will be fine and he will right behind us we need to get into one of the trucks and leave.”
“Alexis where is my uncle Jack?” Danny came up to us with a backpack strapped on his back.
“He is outside holding back as much zombies with the others we all have to leave now,” I said to him and finished off looking at everyone else.
‘Alexis we have one truck out back with Jeff and Anthony get back there!’ Jack said through a walkie-talkie.
Hailey and Riley ran towards the back door and we all followed behind, we open the door to find the truck right at the foot of the steps, “Hurry there is not many zombies out here,” Jeff said.
“Come on William and Holly get in,” I said taking Danny’s hand.
“No we will wait for Jack to come and get us,” William replied.
“I want to go with Uncle Jack too,” Danny said stepping out of the truck. No this was not up for discussion we have to move fast.
“Close the door and got towards the porch door Ronald is over there there’s more coming!” Jeff said. Looking ahead of the truck zombies emerge red from the dark wood.
William, Holly, Danny and I went back inside and barricaded the door with a chair and ran towards the porch door.
“Will we can’t leave our home like this, I don’t want to go,” Holly cried stopping behind us.
“Sweetheart we have no choice, I know it’s hard but we have to,” William said going to her and bringing her into a hug.
“There’s so much history in this house I will not leave it behind,” she protested pushing him back with tears in her eyes.
“We can’t Holly.”
“Yes let’s stay Will we will board the windows and doors,” Holly said sounding hopefully. I turned away from them to talk into the walkie-talkie.
‘Ronald I need you to pull up by the porch.’
‘Okay be ready to hop in.’
I turned back to William and Holly and saw them comforting each other. William was wiping Holly’s tears while holding back his own. Why would they not cry Holly told me that they both worked long and hard to build this house? They raised all their children and made so many memories in this house.
“I know it’s not easy to leave but there’s so many of those things surrounding the house. Sorry to break it to you two but even if you do stay those monster will tear into this house and eat you both. Please excuse my rude behavior but you two better get in that car before I unwilling make you, because I rather have you two as alive as you are now than zombie food.” I told them.
I know I should not speak to them like that but I come to love both of them and I can’t afford to lose more loved ones. They stood there daring me to move them so I did something that will really piss anyone off I pulled my gun on them and told them to get into the car Ronald was in. Jack is so not going to like me after this.
They got into the car not one bit happy with me but at least I got them in. I ran towards the other side to get in only to be met by three zombies cutting me off. Shoot.
“Leave!” I yelled shooting one zombie in the head. “No get in!” Ronald shouted.
“Alexis!” that was Danny’s voice, oh crap how could I forget him.
“Go!” I told Ronald and shot the other two zombies and ran back inside to get Danny.
“Danny where are you?” I shouted.
“Alexis I’m over here,” I heard his little voice and then some growling. I ran towards the living room and saw Mia pulling on a zombie’s leg to get it away form Danny.
I shot the thing in the head and ran towards Danny, “Are you hurt?”
He shook his head and put his hands around my neck, “I want to leave. Where is Uncle Jack?”
“I know you do me too but we have to be prepared Jack is outside and there is tons more of those things outside so are you ready to run?” I asked him.
He gave a small nod and wipes the little tear that escaped his eye, he then took my hand. I took out the walkie-talkie to find out where Jack was at.
The back door was no longer barricaded with the chair that was good; unfortunately the dead were inside the house. The three of us hide behind every wall we could to avoid being seen. There were only two zombies by the door if I shot those two we could get away but it would draw the attention to more.
Okay I know what I have to do Jack said he was at the end of the driveway in the truck. He was already ready to leave but we just caught him in time. Let’s hope he is not surrounded.
I bent down to Danny’s height, “Okay we have to be ready to run as fast as we can. Once you see the truck run with all that you can and don’t stop until you are in. Got it?” I whispered to him.
“Okay what about you and Mia?”
“We will right behind you.”
I gave a count of three and fired two shots into the zombie’s heads, and we began to run outside. We rounded the corner towards the front and zombies were scattered all over the yard.
“Mia no stopping just run,” I told the K-9.
Through the corner of my eye I saw a group of zombie digging into the trash cans and turned towards us once they smelled us.
“Run.”
Danny was tugging onto my arm and running with as much as his little feet could carry him. We manage to zigzag half of the drive way, “I see that truck!” Danny yelped in excitement and let go of my hand.
“Wait, Danny!” I shouted as a zombie appeared in front of him. I shot it right before he could attack, if I did not snatch up Danny he would have fallen on him. The gun shot only turned the attention of all the zombies to us but then I heard the roar of the truck come alive.
The truck was far away but I guess we were going to have to meet half way. I fire the last of the bullets and took off running with Danny in my arms with Mia leading the way.
Everything went in slow motion, I was exhausted with the run but the zombies were a blur all around me and they seemed slow with all the dodging I did. I felt as if Jack was never going to stop or go. The rise of dirt and crushing of rocks and dirt screech as he turned the truck around us to block us from the danger and the door was thrown open.
At the same time I heard a bark and a “Get in!”
Doing as I was told I jumped in with Danny and called for Mia. After the door closed Jack took off like there was no tomorrow, in our case we can’t be sure.

So I now know how they will find Natalie but is she alive or dead? Will Jack find his other family? will everyone met up again? Lots of questions so lets hope I can sit my butt down and write the rest. :D
