I awake alone on Dave's bed. I was all wrapped up in his weird blanket with the quadrants on it. I looked like I was in a ***super*** thin recuperacoon
I sit up and smell good coming from the kitchen. Surprisingly it smells appetizing. Might aswell give human food a shot.
I get up on my sleepy feet and walk slowly out of the room and I follow the aroma of cooking food. I stop and see dave cooking.

It's a Miracle. Ew now I sound like Gamzee goin' on about miracles.
I approach the coolkid and he turns to look at me. He had his shades on as usual. I sigh in defeat of seeing him without the mirror shades
" well good morning nubs " he says in his casual tone of voice. I twitch at the nickname but I don't argue with him about not calling me nicknames
" Morning fuckass " I reply to him with a curse like I usual do with anyone
" Geez someone's being crabby to their boyfriend"
" I'm not being crabby! And, boyfriend?" I speak with a puzzled look across my face.
" Yeah. Oh sorry man, I mean Matesprit"
" M-Matesprit?! we did not discuss that!"
" I just figured cause' you like me and I like you so y'know how it works. "
I roll my eyes as a reply. " Y'know I don't enjoy seeing myself every hour of the day"
Dave looks at me confused " what? I don't get what you are saying "
" Thoses fucking hipster shades. They just portray a reflection of me! I want to see your eyes"
" No. It's not important. Besides they'd just freak you out "
" How would you know that?"
" I just do " he retorts harshly.
I let him cook and we eat breakfast which was good. I didn't eat much since I don't eat much food or get sleep.
I look at him caught off guard. I rip off his shades and he covers his eyes quickly like he has a 'my shades are off' reflex
" Give them back" he says
"No not until I see what you've been hiding!"
"Give them the fuck back Karkat!"
My eyes widen at hearing him raise his voice. He hands dave his shades and leaves the room as a mess. He goes into the bathroom and cries in the bathtub.
Dave puts on his shades and after a while he goes to the bathroom door
"Karks? You okay?"
I don't speak. I cry into my gray jeans that covered my legs and knees. Dave keeps trying to get my attention.
"C'mon please? "
"I'm sorry if I said something mean babe! "
" I'm coming in " Dave opens the door and I hide my tears and wipe them away. Dave places his hand under my chin and lifts it to make our gazes meet
" I'll show you what's under. " Dave removes his shades and shows me. My eyes widen.
His candy red eye hue matched Karkat's exactly. Karkat couldn't help but stare " they are beautiful dave.."
" Sure they are"
" I want to show you something too. " Karkat uncaptchalogues his sickle and cuts his arm, allowing candy red bold to drip/pour out.
"Oh. I guess we both have secrets having to do with red " Dave chuckles and bandages my wound after he cleansed it.
" I guess so"
