Chris let a yawn as she stood beside Endeavor & Hawks, a small grin appeared on her face when she saw the new hero costume Endeavor was wearing, it made her happy that he was actually wearing it. It looked good on him as well, she was also wearing a new suit that made her at least a few inches taller than Endeavor, at least she wasn't 2ft taller than him anymore
"The reason we held this sort of ceremony at this time... is because we judged this turning point. Its been about 3 months since All Might's retirement & a few weeks since the reveal of Micro, & word is circulating that we still lack a hero icon." Chris rolled her neck as she pursed her lips when she heard her hero name being mentioned, she raised an eyebrow & moved her eyes to her left & saw Hawks tilted his head to the side, she shook her head & looked forward again "The heroes that will shoulder society's burdens going forward are all in this room. Lets all strive towards a more peaceful society."
"So, whats it like to be in 2nd place?" she couldn't help but jump a bit at his sudden voice, she looked down at him before shaking her head & glaring at him to shut up, he looked forward & did the motion to zip his lips
"& now, statements from each individual!" a lady then came toward Yoroi Musha & held a microphone to him
"What I must do from now on has not changed."
"Wash (seriously, when I first saw this hero I was fucking laughing while I was confused as fuck)!!!"
"I intend to work hard as a part of Edgeshot's team without bringing shame to my senpai's." Kamui declared, he then leaned forward & looked at Chris "& kouhai?" he questioned, she waved her hand
"I've been doing this longer than you, Kamui Woods. You're my kouhai despite being older than me." he nodded
"Okay." she winked at him, next up with Crust
"Why was I not there on that day in Kamino?! That regret still lays heavily on my heart!!" Hawks made a face, now it was Miruko, she smirks confidently & pointed her thumb at her chest & her index pointing at the crowd
"Hey, you, all the guys scheming bad out there!! Get ready to be pummeled by me." Hawks looks down this time
"If the rankings were purely based on approval ratings, you would have been No.4...!"
"Numbers don't concern me. I'm grateful for the high approval that comes from my work, but I'm not doing this for fame! I believe the fostering of peace is the true essence of heroism." suddenly Hawks speaks up
"Who cares about that?" everyone went silent, Endeavor & Chris look at each other before looking down at him surprised
"Damn, that was ballsy!" Miruko exclaimed
"... as usual you enjoy throwing everyone in a loop, don't you?" he just looks at them as he takes the microphone out of the lady's hand, more like snatched it to be precise
"Hey, I'm just bad at keeping it in." he spreads his wings "Let's see... if we're going just by approval ratings, Micro would be in 1st place due to her supportive fans & for the fact that she is more suited for the role as No.1 because of her kindness, generosity, etc. Best Jeanist would be 2nd due to his extra boost of support during his recovery. I would be 3rd, Edgeshot would be 4th, Endeavor would be 5th, & so on." Chris felt a little surprised when Hawks considered her as the No. 1 hero, how thoughtful "I think approval ratings are the most important metric right now. Is it time to be clinging to the past? Is it still okay to uphold the status quo? We no longer have a symbol." she crossed her arms as everyone in the building looked up at Hawks as he used his quirk to fly "Why are people who can't even get a higher rank than me... being so tame & subdued on a day that's supposedly deemed a "turning point"?! Please speak more like heroes."
Hawks, 22 years old. The hero that reached the top 5 in the last Billboard Chart, started his own agency hero office at the age of 18, he was already in the top 10 by the same year's second semester rankings. Reaching the top 10 as a teenagers is a historical first. He's the youngest & quickest of the pack!!! People call him the precocious man, the crowd began muttering & talking to themselves
"Talk about doing things his own way..." Fatgum said, Rock Lock sweats a bit
"Such arrogance." he came down
"That's all from me." he stopped just right next to her & handed her the mic "So, next in line. With higher approval ratings than me, No. 2." she took the mic from him & gave him a look, she covered the top of it
"You've left me in quite the situation, Hawks." he smiled at her & shrugged
"My bad." she rolled her eyes, she thought for a bit before putting on a gentle smile, she spun the mic in the air before catching it
"Its quite thoughtful of you to think of me as No.1, Hawks, & the words you used is quite kind as well. Hmm, how should I start this? Well, first off all, I completely agree with you that approval rating is the most important thing a hero should have, & come on, I'm 15 & yet I'm the No. 2! Come on guys, you need to step it up a bit! Its a bit embarrassing that a mere child is ahead of you. The reason I only gave up No. 1 because I didn't want the stress of everybody depending me, that's to much for me to handle, as a society we shouldn't just be depending on one hero!" she sighs to herself "Another thing, nearly every reporter, interviewer, etc., has been asking me about my fighter bots. Will they overpower pros? Will we need pros anymore with these fighter bots?" she sighed softly with a smile & looked down, chills went down people's spines when Chris suddenly looked up with a gentle smile but a smugish dark look in her eyes "Its just that... its not my fault that my bots, are doing a better job than you pros." no one dared say a word, one guy though... he decided to speak up
"& what makes you think that?! You're just a child!" a few agreed
"So?" the tone she used made him quiver "I'm just stating the facts! Just remember this, the reason I am up here, & not you, is because I have a higher approval rating, more incidents resolved & a better contribution compared to you. So, if a CHILD can do that, why can't you?" he gulped & backed down when he saw her give him a dark look "That's what I thought..." the audience was left silent, a gentle smile returned to her face as she spun around on one foot & went over to Endeavor to hand him the mic "& that's all for me! Your turn, Endeavor!" he snatched it from her & glared at her, she grinned
"What Hawks & Micro said actually kind of make sense."
"That's a tough act to follow, Endeavor." a few heroes say, he breaths
"Apart from what this novice tried to stir up & this child getting at... there is not much to say." he started as he clenched his fist "Just watch me." a few people in the crowd began to sweat, Chris & Hawks clap their hands
= Christian H. Jitami Drakos =
"Todoroki~!" I squeal out as I slam open the door to his room, I saw that his flames were flared up but once he saw me he seemed to have calmed down "Hello!" he waved his hand
"What do you want, Jitami?" I merely grin
"Do you like the suit I made for you?" I saw his eyebrow raise, he looked down at his new costume & nodded
"I knew I could count on you to make this, you do have the No. 1 Support Company/Agency. Most pros go to you when it comes to new support gear & costumes, so I thought I'd do the same." I smile at him, I go behind him & left his arm straight & rub his arm to feel the fabric
"Well you did ask me a bit to soon, I kinda rushed it before I could put some finishing touches on it." he looked at me
"Finishing touches?" I let his arm drop & pull out a holographic screen from my arm
"A self repairing fabric, so whenever it gets heavily damaged it can easily repair itself without you needing to come to me or other agencies for it to get fixed! Think of it as Super Regeneration or Healing!" he nods "I also wanted to embed a stone in it, Ignis, is what its called. To give you an extra kick with your flames!" he hummed
"That's interesting." I nod
"I might actually do that as well."
"I'd appreciate that."
"I'll get to it, but that doesn't give you an excuse to destroy that costume, alright?" he nodded his head
"Of course, I don't plan on it." I smile & nod, I then turn & wave him goodbye
"Well, that's all I wanted to say. I'll see you sometime later, hopefully!" I say as I skip towards the door, I had my hand on the doorknob & just as I go to open the door I stopped when I heard him say
"Thank you... I'm glad we're finally getting along, Jitami." I hum
"Yeah, same with you Todoroki." I then open the door though just as I do I look down & see Hawks in the motion of knocking on the door "Oh, he's all yours if you want to talk him now." I say, he smiles at me
"Cool, see you later Micro." I wave
(Time Skip)
"I sincerely apologies for, um, breaking through your window unexpectedly ma'am." I apologize as I sat on a couch with glass in my hair, some in my clothing & all over the floor in this lady's room, I'm guessing she's a patient because I saw that she was wearing hospital clothes "I really am sorry." she looked at me with a bit of a surprised look before waving her hand
"Its okay, you're known as a remarkable builder, inventor, fixer, etc." with a blush I nod my head
"Yeah, that's true." Chris was doing her own thing when suddenly a villain, or more like a thug, appeared out of nowhere & used their quirk to fling her across the air & she came crashing through the glass window & landed conveniently on a chair couch & the woman who I'm currently talking too was sitting on her bed while reading a letter, luckily before I was shot off there were heroes coming towards the scene
"Would you like something to drink, Micro?" I smile softly
"That would be great, but please, just call me Christian." she hums
"Such a beautiful name." I chuckle as I ruffle my hair to get the glass out, I clench my fist & twist it a bit to activate Terra, I manipulated the glass & slowly put it back into place, lucky glass is made out of sand, which it made out of earth that is broken down into pieces
"Mm, a common name if anything. What do you go by?" I ask as I managed to place the last piece of glass in its place
"Rei, Todoroki Rei."
"Todoroki?" I ask, she nods her head "Whoa... whoa! You're Shouto's mother?! Wow, he wasn't kidding, you're absolutely stunning! & your name is more beautiful than mine, the kanji's in your name means cold." she nods her head again with a bit of a smile on her face
"Those are very kind words, Christian, & you mentioned Shouto. How is he doing?" she asked as she handed me a cup of coffee
"Ooo thank you, & your son is doing great! He's made friends with great people, I'm happy that he's embracing Enji's power." I shook my head as I lean my head on my hand "I can't believe I said Enji, I just don't want you confused whenever I speak of anyone in your family." she nodded her head in understandment as she took a sip from her cup
"Its alright, I'm happy for him as well. Sometimes when he can't visit me, he sends me letters." she said happily as she pulled them out
"That's good for you!" I hum "Even if I don't attend U.A anymore, I believe he's still doing wonderful. I hope his classmates can keep him happy, I know Izuku & Tenya are doing a great job at that!" she tilted her head to the side then suddenly lit up
"I recognize those names! He mentioned them quite frequently actually." I clap my hands
"That's nice! He usually hangs out with those two, or maybe with Momo & sometimes Devion." I remember something & it made me laugh softly
"Hehe, what?"
"Oh, this one time during training, Devion was freezing the water then began skating on it, Shouto tried to copy it but ended up getting jelly legs & falling on his face instead!" she started laughing as well
"That sounds like him!" we sat there in silence for a few more moments until she spoke up again "How is Enji doing?" I slowly look over at her
"Are you sure you... you want me to talk about him?" she sat there for a few seconds before nodding her head
"Yes please."
"Well, its safe to say that he's changed... or, well, changing! He still needs to work on his temper but at least he doesn't yell at me anymore, or threaten me! I actually saw him treat Shouto nicely, has he visited you?" she hums
"Once actually." she gestures to a flower "He gave me that, though... we haven't exactly seen each other face to face, I'm still to scared." I see her shake so I stood up & pat her shoulder
"That's okay, you just need time. One day you'll be able to see him & be comfortable with his presence again." she smiled up at me
"Thank you, I've appreciate this talk with you, Christian." I salute her
"As to you, Rei."
