When Valerie moved to Forks she never expected some things to happen, like finding out that the people she was closest to while growing up descended from wolves or meeting a family of vampires who after a short time, became her best friends and second family.
There was one thing that she didn't expect at all or at least she would like to think so. Her little crush, on a certan vampire grew even stronger and it wasn't so little anymore. It concered her because she was convinced that he didn't feel the same way plus there was that whole mate thing but oh how wrong she was.
But before we get into that let's disscus today, as we speak the two sisters are pulling up to the school, it was Bella's first day and Valerie being the good sister she is tried to calm her down.
Key word is tried since Bella was sure that something would go wrong.
"Honestly Isabella Marie you worry too much, everything is gonna be just fine." The younger brunette gasped as she parked the truck.
"Excuse you, Valerie Elizabeth Swan but have you met me? I'm a klutz!" Both girls got out of the truck but before Valerie could say anything, a friend of hers made a remark about the truck to Bella who just muttered thanks while the other twin stepped into view and glared at him.
"Shut up Tyler." she then turned to her sister, "Are you sure you don't want me to go with you?" Bella rolled her eyes but smiled a little.
"Yes I'm sure Val, I need to do this on my own and if I'll need your help then I can always find you or text you." The sisters shared a quick hug before the younger out of the two quickly departed to go inside.
The older sat on top of the truck putting her headphones in and waited for her friends to arrive.
She wasn't even listening to music she just hoped that Tyler won't bother her, which he didn't.
Don't get her wrong he's a good friend but he can be annoying sometimes, very annoying.
She saw their cars pull up so she jumped down from the red truck and made her way across the parking lot, as they got out she smiled at them.
"Took you long enough, I was begining to think that you 5 are abandoning me." the beautiful blonde out of the 5 spoke first.
"I'm pretty sure we wouldn't succed even if we tried." the brunette bopped her nose, "You're completly right with that statment Rosie!" her friends were non other than the Cullen/Hale siblings.
If this was any other human, hell if it was any other vampire Rosalie would of ripped their throat out by now but the vampire had a soft spot for the human girl, so she could get away with a lot of stuff. So instead of ripping her throat out the blonde rolled her eyes and smiled at her.
They made their way inside Emmett was telling Valerie about the wrestling match he lost to Jasper last night which the brunette girl found amusing since Emmett was so frustrated with it. As they walked through the halls people stared which wasn't anything new but it still annoyed Valerie from time to time.
Since she slept through her classes, she only really woke up right before lunch. Today she was sitting with her other group of friends since the Cullens haven't hunted in 2 weeks and Jasper wasn't holding up very good so he didn't want to risk it. As she made her way to the table she was suprised to see Bella sitting there.
Saying hi to everyone as she sat down with her lunch next to her sister, she turned towards her twin.
"Hey Bells how is it so far?" "Um good, I almost knocked out Mike in gym but other than that good." The older brunette smiled at her sister as she turned to Angela and asked her about the paper. The young girl with glasses looked at her best friend and told her how Bella gave her a few good ideas.
The 3 girls minus Bella started a coverstation about a boy in their year apparently, his little friend down there isn't so little which suprised them since he's really skinny and kinda short. Before they could countinue Bella spoke up.
"Who are they?"
All 3 girls looked at the direction Bella was looking and there were non other then the Cullen/Hale siblings who were about to enter the cafeteria. Valerie kept quiet intrested in what her friends will say, especially Jessica. Angela was the one that answered the question saying they were the Cullens follwed by Jessica, who said who's kids they were and when and from where they moved then Angela spoke again.
"They all kinda keep to themselves." "Yeah because they're all together like, together together." Valerie rolled her eyes at Jessica's comment and told her off since they only have one couple. Bella turned to her sister.
"You know them?" The older twin of the two popped a grape into her mouth as she nodded. "They're my friends."
Jessica talked about Rosalie and Emmett as they passed their table the couple gave their human friend a small smile which she gladly returned.
"-they're like a thing I'm not even sure that's legal." Valerie was sure she was losing brain cells everytime Jessica talked about them, "Jess they're not actually related."
The brunette was thankful for Angela, she was one of her best friends and a really kind person.
"Yeah but they live together, it's weird." Valerie was ready to choke Jessica to death and she wasn't even done talking about them.
She started to talk about Alice and Jasper, calling Alice weird and saying that Jasper always looks like he's in pain, she said that they're best friends and countinued by saying that she was sure that Valerie and Jasper are a thing.
"Jess that's not nice to say about people. And no, me and Jasper aren't a thing." "Not yet."
The brunette winked at her to which Valerie laughed but before they could countinue their playful argument Bella cut them off once again.
"Who's he?" Jessica looked at Edward then tured back to Bella, "That's Edward Cullen, totally gorgues obviously but apparantley, no one here is good enough for him like I care you know-"
She didn't hear the rest of the sentence since she zoned out, thinking about Jessica's statment from before.
Valerie was brought back by Mike plopping down next to her and putting his arm over her shoulder. He brought his voice down a little as he talked so only the brunette sitting next to him could hear him.
"Hey bestie. You never told me that Bella was pretty."
Valerie let out a small laugh at his words.
"Well Mikey I'm not gonna randomly tell you about my sister's looks because that would be weird."
Saying fair enough, the two chatted until the bell rang. The two alongside Angela and Bella had biology now, so the four teens decided to go together.
While walking to biology Bella tought about how to start the converstation with her sister, in the end she decided to be direct.
"So um what's up with you and this Jasper guy?" The older twin sighed while Mike and Angela laughed, "Nothing Bells. We're friends."
"Don't listen to your sister Bella. She's got a crush on him but won't admit it to anyone."
Just as she was going to defend herself and tell Mike off, Jasper and Emmett passed by them. Both boys sent her a smile but her stare seemed to linger on Jasper just a little bit longer as she smiled back.
They were getting closer to their classroom now and Mike gave Bella the 'I told you so' look while Bella gave her twin a 'really?' look.
"You're not helping your case Val."
Valerie let out a sigh as they entered the biology room. Bella stayed at the teacher's desk getting everything she needed while Angela and Valerie took their seats behinde Edward.
They told Valerie their secret about a year and a half ago. It was actually pretty funny how she found out.
She was hanging out with Edward and Rosalie that day, they were walking around Forks when Valerie spoke up.
"I don't want to ask any questions but I know that you guys are hiding something from me, let's call it a third sense. I respect you not telling me but stop acting so weird around me." She didn't even look at them as she kept walking ahead, both sibling let out a sigh before Edward spoke up.
"We have no idea what you're talking about Valerie." with that the young girl turned around and glared at him, "Oh bite me Edward."
Neither of the three spoke up as the two vampires looked at their human friend with shock. For a second Valerie was confused but then realization hit her as she looked at them with her mouth slightly open.
"Wait. I..I got it right? You're...vampires..." she whispered the v word as a smile slowly made it onto her face, "I knew it!! It was either that or some demon faires!"
She spoke again since her friends were still in shock.
"Aww, look at you two little Draculas. You're so cute when you're shocked."
Rosalie was the first to get out of her shock state, so it was up to her to say something.
"Well, I think we should go back to our house to talk." The girl hummed at the blonde and started walking towards where they parked.
Back at the house, Alice already told everyone what happened since she got a vision, so when the 3 friends got there, the whole family was waiting for them in the living room.
"Hello Draculas and she-Draculas. How is everyone doing today?" she sat down on the couch as the 5 sibilings looked at her like she grew 3 heads.
The parental figures, Carlisle and Esme found the whole situation amusing because of the reactions from their kids and the young human. Jasper was the first one to speak scared of her answer.
"You're not scared of us?" "Well duh mister obvious." she closed her eyes hearing Esme and Carlisle chuckle at her reponse.
Now all 5 vampires were even more shocked and confused, they didn't understand how she wasn't scared of them. Especially Jasper who saw himself as a monster.
The young human could hear the engines going off in their heads, she didn't need any powers to know that they didn't get it. She let out a sigh as she opened her eyes and looked at them.
"Look if you want I'll do the whole scared thing for show-" she was cut off by Emmett letting out a loud snort. The human narrowed her eyes at him before countinuing.
"Anyways, I'm not scared because if any of you wanted to hurt me you'd suck me dry a long time ago which you didn't. Plus I dobut it that you would go to highschool and be around humans that much, which makes me believe that you have a diffrent diet because I'm pretty sure our whole town would be gone by now." she smiled as she leaned back into the couch and closed her eyes again.
The Cullen-Hale siblings looked at eachother, knowing that she had a point. Alice asked her how she found out about them, Valerie without opening her eyes started to explain about this thing called the internet. Of course she was being sarcastic since all of them knew what it was but she wanted to humor herself a little.
By the end of her explanation she opened her eyes and sat up a little.
"And that's my friends how I found out about you being vampires. Well actually Ed and Rosie confirmed it for me. It was either vampires or some kind of demon-fairies hybirds."
With that Emmett started to laugh not beliving what he heard but his laughs we're cut short with both Alice and Rosalie hitting him on the head lightly.
In all honestly the whole family found it funny but they only let out little chuckles.
That was the day they told Valerie everything she wanted and needed to know. Now looking back at it, she's highly humored by her second guess. She eventually learned about all their past lives, being intriged by them.
Now as we speak Valerie saw Edward gripping the table, almost breaking it. So, when Angela went to the bathroom and Bella wasn't paying attention, the brunette whispered to him to calm down and kicked his chair a little.
That seemed to remind him that they were in a public place with humans so he let go of the table.
As soon as the bell rang he ran out, making Bella frown. Valerie approched her sister and gave her a little smile, telling her she'll be waiting by the truck for her at the end of the day. Quickly walking towards the school exit, she stopped Edward just as he was about to leave.
"What was that in there? And do not try to lie to me."
"I'll explain later Val, I have to go now."
With that he walked out of the school which made Valerie sigh. She didn't feel like going to her next class but she knew she had to. Walking to her AP History class she saw that Jasper wasn't there which honestly made her sad. She got into her seat at the back and just prayed that the class would go by quickly.
When the bell rang Valerie made her way outside to wait for her sister and as she was walking towards the truck she saw the Cullens drive off. So much for a goodbye Val, see you later she tought. Just as she leaned againts the truck, she saw Bella walking towards her. Giving her a little smile, she unlocked the truck and they both got in. The ride home was filled with silence, neither sister couldn't decide if it was akward or comfortable.
Once Bella parked the truck, Valerie quickly got out and went inside. Quickly saying a hi to her dad and giving him a kiss on the cheek, she went up to her room and plopped down on her bed. Today sure was something.
