The day has been pure hell, and to be honest, the fact that you were dating Luke Hemmings, from 5 Seconds of Summer had a lot to do in it. Ever since you guys decided to become a couple, people started to bully you at school, making fun of you, saying that Luke only got with you as a joke because there was absolutely no way someone like him could like someone like you. That’s actually what you thought yourself but hearing other people, that used to be your friends say it was definitely something else and hurt you a lot.
You tried to hide the situation to Luke at first, but he was really good at reading you and soon figured out that something was wrong, and begged you to talk to him. So you did, you told him that people were being awful, that you couldn’t walk down a hallway without people stopping their conversations to turn to you and laugh. You remembered his eyes filling up with sadness as he asked you if there was anything he could do. After you told him no, he basically spent the rest of the day saying that he was the lucky one in this relationship and not the other way around, he always knew how to make you feel better anyway.
Luckily, you had your best friend, who stayed loyal to you and supported you through it all but there was still days when you felt incredibly alone and it was worse when Luke was on tour.
You were tired today, and people’s constant remarks particularly got to you. You couldn’t wait to go home and just lie under your blanket, forgetting everything.
As the bell rang, you let out a long sigh, quickly put your stuff in your bag and stood up. Your best friend was by your side as you walked in the hallway one last time. You’d mastered the art of ignoring everyone, and that’s exactly what you did as you walked through the school doors. When you did finally lift your head up, you noticed that everyone had stopped in front of the parking lot, looking at something or someone that you couldn’t see.
You started to walk towards the opposite direction, just wanting to get away but you felt a hand grab your arm, stopping your movement.
“(Y/N)! (Y/N), I think it’s Luke!” (Y/BF/N) said, bringing you back to the parking lot.
As soon as the words left her mouth, you started to walk through the crowd, elbowing people to get to the place where everyone was turned to. When you finally managed to catch a glance of Luke, you saw him staring over the crowd, obviously searching for someone.
“Luke!” you yelled as you finally got to him, his eyes falling on you. You threw your arms around his neck as he caught you, engulfing you in a warm hug.
“What are you doing here?” you whispered in his neck, tears threatening to spill out from the happiness you were feeling at the moment.
“I just thought I’d surprise you” he answered, tightening his grip on you. You were totally oblivious to the people around you as you lifted your head to meet his deep blue eyes.
“And I thought maybe I could try and show them just how much you mean to me” he added, placing a finger under your chin and lifting you head up, then gently placing his lips over yours, kissing you slowly. This would have been a perfect movie scene.
People started whistling around you and you smiled into the kiss, putting one of your hands on his waist. The kiss became passionate as Luke brought you closer, not leaving any space between your bodies.
When you finally pulled away, Luke grabbed one your hands and placed a light kiss on your knuckles, looking directly at you.
“You’ll always have me, no matter what. You know that, right?” he asked you, one arm still around you. You nodded and placed your head on his chest, hugging him tightly again.
“Thank you, I love you so much!” You confessed. He rubbed your back, “I love you too” he whispered so only you could hear. “There’s gonna be pictures and videos of us all around the internet tomorrow” he stated, looking around at all the people holding IPhones. “I don’t really mind, it was definitely worth it” you replied, kissing him one last time before going home with him.
