"LYDIA, where is Holton?" sheasked as she noticed that he's not in his room.
The servant's face got serious in an instant and stopped wiping the picture frames for a while. "He went on a business meeting, mistress. Why?" Lydia answered with a flat tone.
"Nothing, I never knew he even works." He didn't even told me, she thought. They just ate their breakfast and went back to their own rooms. Poof! Now he's gone. But what is she complaining about? I'm not even his mother for him to ask permission or even say goodbye before he left!
"He's a stockholder in a certain company and is a catwalk model in an agency." The servant informed.
"Oh... No wonder he is rich. Anyways, when will he come back?"
"I'm sorry, master. But I have no idea."
"Well that's okay. I'll just wait for him."
"You might get bored, mistress."
"Don't worry. It's fine with me."
The servant just smiled as she open a drawer. "Here, take a look at this." Lydia was holding a clear book, and she invited her to sit beside her on the sofa.
"What's that?" she asked as she sat down.
"This is Holton's portfolio."
"Portfolio?"
"Yes, a modelling portfolio. This contains every single photo from the start of his modelling career up until now."
"How did you know all these?"
"I'm his servant since the day he was born."
"Cool."
She smiled as she flipped the pages.
"This photo is like his debut photo. He endorsed a certain brand of jewellery in magazines. Actually, he started as a catalogue model. Later on, he decided to be on runways. He only appear on magazines for editorials and endorsement of such expensive products . After that, a lot of projects came like a bomb. To tell you, he's not that confident and hard-working. That is why he barely appear on television. He refused being an artist and record an album."
"Whoa! He's talented. Too bad he didn't accept the offers." She frowned.
"Yeah. That was his choice. But that made him a high paid model."
"Oohh..."
"He barely appear on magazines and runway because he is 'expensive."
"So, he's a supermodel?"
"Uhuh. He's already became a supermodel at such a young age."
"Then why is he still living here? I mean, why not buy a modern home or something. Besides, he can afford it."
"He has one."
"Then why not live there?"
"Because he hated the idea of being watched by the paparazzi. Also according to him, this is his home. He could be himself here."
She just nodded and smiled. There's no other place like home. "Where does he work?"
"It depends. Mostly, he flies to different places abroad for runway and photo shoot."
"Hmm... I wonder what it feels like to be outside the villa."
The servant was surprised in a split second but then. She remembered that a body doesn't have a pure memory. It can only remember something for a few days, unless that person recalls it almost everyday. It doesn't keep a feeling for too long like hatred or love, unless that person remembers it always.
Holton finally arrived home by night.
"Hi, Holton!" Haruki greeted. She's the one who opened the door for him.
"Hello!"
"How was your day?" Her question quiet surprised him. She's not like that before. She doesn't ask how he was or how his day was.
"It's good. Haruki, it seems like you mellowed down."
She didn't answer but she shyly glanced at Lydia. The servant nodded and speaks for her. "Actually, master, she has a request."
"What is it?"
"She wanted to join you in one of your photo shoot for once if you won't mind."
He glanced at Haruki then back at Lydia and smiled. "Not at all, as long as it is Haruki. It would be great if you join me."
"Really?"
"Uhuh."
She squealed and rushed to him. She hugged him tight which gave him quiet a surprise. He just smiled. She's just too happy Holton so don't exaggerate, he reminded himself.
"I have a street photo shoot tomorrow at eight in the morning. Make sure you'll wake up early, okay?"
"Okay! Thank you!"
"Are you excited for tomorrow?"
"Yeah!" she beamed.
"Have a good night's sleep. Tomorrow's gonna be a long day."
She nodded and smiled.
