When we got home, my mood seemed to have lightened. Rather than letting my social worker pick up my bags and drag them into my room, I did it myself. I even smiled at my Foster parents as I went to my room to lay down.
My grey walls triggered something as I felt the urge of change. Maybe I don't want to be like this forever? Maybe it's me stopping my self?
I go down stairs and see my Foster parents and my social worker talking about adult things I don't really bother with.
"ermmm.. Kate,"
They looked shocked, probably because is the first time I've talked to them for the month I've been under thier care.
"yes sweetie" my Foster career said, a bit excitedly.
"Can we redecorate the room, grey seems a bit morbid?" I stutter over my words shyly. I feel bad, demanding all these thing when all I do is ignore them.
"Of course" Irene, who is Kate's wife, says. "We want you to feel as at home as possible."
"Also what was that song you played in the car." I asked eagerly, desperate to hear it again.
