DOUBLE UPDATE

I had the Monday blues today.

I didn't want to go to classes because I was beyond tired and I just wanted to go back home to sleep for hours.

Unfortunately, we had a test today in Mrs. White's class so I couldn't miss it. I don't think I'm doing that great in her class anyways, and that's because my mind wanders off to other places.

If I do not get my mind right, I won't ever pass her class.

I can't help it when she is the instructor and she's standing up in the front looking so damn beautiful.

It takes away from my actual learning time and it's so frustrating.

Kaylee has been catching me also. She would slap my arm when she knows I'm not paying attention and I'm just thankful that it doesn't draw attention to us.

As Emma was explaining something on the board before our test, Kaylee slipped a piece of paper towards me.

I glanced over at her then slowly picked the paper up and discreetly looked at it.

You're drooling over Mrs. White. Wipe your mouth.

I quickly wiped my mouth but didn't feel anything on it. I looked over at her as she was bent over holding her hand over her mouth, laughing.

She made a snort noise and I couldn't help but cover my mouth so I wouldn't laugh also. A few people were looking back at us, but I ignored them as I tried not to make any noise.

"Dakota and Kaylee." Mrs. White spoke. I straightened myself up and looked at her. I slapped Kaylee on the arm and she coughed a few times before looking at her. "What is so funny?"

"Nothing." Kaylee said then pretended to be writing something in her notebook.

I looked over at her then back at Mrs. White as she was focused on me. "Dakota?"

"I'm sorry, Mrs. White. It won't happened again." I looked down at the table.

"Both of you, see me after class." She said then went back to the board.

Great.

I folded the piece of paper up and placed it under my notebook. I started writing down some notes as Mrs. White was explaining things on the board.

The good thing about having her as an instructor, is that she will go over things that will be on the test so everyone will understand better.

After she erased everything in the board, she turned around and told everything to remove everything from their table.

I moved my notebook onto the floor then sat there as she was walking around the room handing everyone their tests.

As she got to me, she placed the paper in front of me then Kaylee. I watched as she bent over next to my table and when she leaned up, she looked at me. "Next time don't disrupt my class." She stared at us then walked away.

I watched her for a moment then sighed as I looked down at the paper in front of me. I looked over at Kaylee then looked at the front of the class to see Mrs. White standing in front of her computer.

When we made eye contact, she raised an eyebrow at me. I quickly looked down and started on my test. As I was answering a few questions, I could feel someone staring at me.

I looked up and saw Mrs. White just in time as she looked towards her computer. I watched her for a moment until I went back to my test.

For the most part, it was fairly easy but some questions I had a hard time on. I just guessed on most of them and looked it over once before I stood up to take the test to Mrs. White.

I walked up to her and held the paper out. She looked over at me and slightly smiled before grabbing it. "Thank you, Dakota."

I smiled back then walked back to my table. I sat down and looked over at Kaylee as she was staring ahead. I stared at her for a moment until I nudged her and she looked over at me.

"What?" I whispered.

She leaned over and was about to speak but Mrs. White caught us and told us to be quiet. Kaylee leaned back and I looked towards the front as Mrs. White was looking at the computer.

As time passed, everyone was turning in their tests and soon everyone was done and we were sitting there as Mrs. White was doing something on the computer.

After a moment, she turned away from the computer and looked around the room. "Since there's time left until class is over, I'll let everyone leave early." She smiles as everyone cheers and starts getting up to leave.

I looked over at Kaylee as she looked back at me. Unfortunately, we couldn't leave so we're stuck here watching everyone else leave.

After the last person had left, it was only me, Kaylee and Mrs. White left. Kaylee placed her head in her hand as her elbow was propped up on the table.

I sat there watching Mrs. White typing on her computer, then after a few moments, she stepped away and looked at us. "Can you two come sit at this table, please?" She motioned towards the table in front of her.

Kaylee and I got up and walked to the front table and sat down. I looked up at Mrs. White as she was walking in front of the table and stopped to look at us.

She crossed her arms. "I just want to know why you both disrupted my class as I was teaching."

I stared at her until Kaylee spoke. "I'm sorry, Mrs. White. We were goofing off and it's my fault."

I looked over at Kaylee as she glanced over at me before Mrs. White spoke. "Do not let it happen again." Kaylee and I both nod as we looked at her. "You may leave."

We both got up to grab our backpacks and I glanced over at Mrs. White as she was watching me. She looked away after getting caught and walked back over to her computer.

Kaylee and I both walked out of the classroom, and that's when Kaylee grabbed my elbow and looked at me. "I have to tell you something."

-

I was sitting outside of campus as my mind was in a fog. I couldn't wrap my head around what Kaylee had told me just a few minutes ago.

I was in a state of shock and also confusion.

"Can you believe she was actually checking you out?!" Kaylee practically yelled.

I looked around quickly then shushed her. "Are you sure you saw her staring at my ass when I was walking back to my seat?"

She nods as she looked at me. "I am dead serious, Dakota. When you turned your test in and was walking back to the table, her eyes were traveling down your back."

I sat there as I was watching Kaylee freak out just as much as I was. I was in a state of confusion because why would Mrs. White check me out?

It didn't make any sense.

"She wants that." Kaylee motioned towards me and I rolled my eyes. "I'm serious, Dakota! Why else would she check you out?"

"Maybe her eyes were just staring somewhere." I said, which didn't make any sense after I said it.

Kaylee stares at me. "Yeah, cause that made sense." She chuckled.

"It just doesn't make any sense as to why she would check me out."

Kaylee sat down next to me. "Be glad." I looked over at her as she was looking at me. "Mrs. White is so gorgeous and since she doesn't wear a ring, maybe she's not married. She could be yours!"

I quickly covered her mouth with my hand as a few people walked by and was staring at us. I look back at Kaylee. "Do you always have a big mouth?"

She moved my hand then smiled at me. "You need to talk to her."

I stood up and looked at her. "And tell her what? That you caught her looking at me?" I stared at her for a moment. "Kaylee, you're getting a little ahead of yourself on this."

"Do you like her?"

I stared at her for a moment until I looked around to make sure nobody was around. I looked back at Kaylee. "Yes, but-"

"Maybe she likes you too, Dakota. You never know until you talk to her. All you have to do is talk. That's all." She stared at me.

Kaylee still had no idea that she had a family and I wasn't about to tell her now.

I sighed as I looked around. When I looked back at her, she was making the puppy dog face. "Will it make you happy?" I asked her. She nodded and I shook my head. "Fine."

She jumped up then quickly pulled me into a hug. She was squealing like a little girl, and all I could do was pat her back and wondering what I am actually doing.

-

After classes, I went to that coffee shop that Emma took me to that one day.

I remember that she told me how she would go there most of time in the afternoons after classes to grade papers.

So, maybe she was here and I could talk to her.

As I walked through the door, I looked around but didn't see her. I didn't want to walk out of the door since I was already here, so I decided to order something and sit down and enjoy myself.

After I had ordered something, I walked over to one of the tables that were next to a window and I sat down. I looked around at everyone before focusing my attention out the window at everyone that was driving by.

As I was watching out the window, I didn't know someone was standing next to my table until I heard a voice.

I looked up and saw Emma standing there. "May I sit with you?" She smiled.

I stared at her for a moment until I nod. She sat down across from me and placed her bag on the seat next to her.

She looked over at me and smiled. "I didn't expect to see you here."

I shrug as I stared at her. "Thought I would start coming here." I looked around. "It's a nice place."

She nods as she looked around. "That's why I like coming here so much. I get away from everything and just enjoy myself." I nod as she started taking out something from her bag.

She laid a pile of papers on the table and I stared at her for a moment. "Damn, Mrs. White."

She looked over at me and smiled. "Emma." I slightly smiled back at her. "but yeah, I know. It's a lot, huh?"

I nod as I looked at all the papers. "Is that our tests?"

"Yes," She nods. "but also some assignments."

"And you have to do all of that before tomorrow?"

She nods again. "Yes." She sighed. "That's the disadvantage of being an instructor."

"What's the advantage?" I said as I picked up my drink.

She smiled. "I get to teach students and watch them grow into adults as they pursue their careers and graduate." I smiled back at her. "This is your last year, correct?"

I nod. "Yes, ma'am."

She smiled. "I bet you're excited to pursue a career, huh?"

"Yeah." I looked down at my cup. "It's always been my dream as a little girl to grow up to someone I love and doing something I love." I smiled up at her as she was smiling brightly at me.

"That's great to have accomplished something in life that big." She stared at me. "Your parents must be so proud."

I slightly smiled at her as I thought about my mom. "Yeah."

Silence fell upon us after a few moments and I looked over towards the window as cars were driving by.

I heard a few papers being flipped over and I looked towards Emma as she was grading some with a pen. I watched her face as her eyes were on the papers, never once looking anywhere else as her main focus was on them.

She glanced up and caught me staring. I slightly smiled at her as I was too late to look away. She smiled back then looked around for a moment until her eyes landed back on me.

"You know," She leaned back to look at me. "since there's a few people in here and there's a view outside the window," She motioned towards it. "you seem to be only focused on me."

I stared at her as I heard my heart in my chest and could feel my face heating up. I shrugged it off and looked somewhere else until I heard her chuckle. I looked over at her as she was smiling at me. "What's funny?"

"You." She smiled. I gave her a confused look. "You seem to be very nervous around me." I stared at her for a moment and was about to speak but she spoke before me. "I can see a light blush across your face every now and then." She smiled.

"Oh." I said as I stared at her. "I just.. I don't know." I looked somewhere wishing I could punch myself.

I saw her hand stretched across the table towards me. "It's ok, Dakota."

I looked down at her hand for a moment then back at her as she pulled back then cleared her throat. "I better do the rest of these papers at home. I have to make supper and everything." She looked at her watch.

We both stood up after she had placed everything in her bag. I told her I would walk her out as we both walked towards the door.

I followed her into the parking lot, and as we were approaching her car, some papers had fallen out of her bag. "Shit." She mumbled.

I smiled as I bent over to grab a few. I heard her open her car door as I grabbed the papers and stood back up. I walked over to where she was bent over in her driver seat, and I stood a little behind her and my eyes traveled down but quickly shot back up as I stood there.

When she leaned back up, she had bumped into me and made me step backwards a little. She turned around and smiled at me, and I noticed that we were pretty close.

Her smile slowly faded as she stared at me and I stared back at her. I watched as she eyes glanced down at my lips before looking back up.

Maybe Kaylee wasn't seeing things.

I didn't know what to do at this moment because my heart was hammering against my chest and my mind was going total batshit crazy.

I couldn't stop whatever it was as I was leaning in and pressed my lips against hers. It caught me off guard as I quickly pulled back to stare at her face, which was in a complete state of shock.

"Mrs. White, I-I'm sorry." I quickly handed her the papers and practically ran to my car like a crazy person.

After I fumbled with the keys, I finally pulled out of the parking lot and drove away as quickly as I could.

The whole ride back home was a complete blur. My mind was going crazy and my heart was pounding and I was in a state of complete shock as I could not believe I just did that shit.

I kissed Mrs. White.

What the hell is wrong with me?
