It was so warm, you try to roll over but you feel tangled. You're eyes ease open, finding Kid nuzzling your collarbone, arms around your upper body. You feel Zoro cuddling your back, tail curled around your thigh. "... It's too warm." You murmur, grimacing slightly, and this was odd. You carefully squeeze out from between them maneuvering out of the room sleepily.
"Good morning ___." Your mother's voice jolts you to fully wake.
"Mom! You're back! Good morning." You gasp going to hug her.
"What's up? You look alarmed. You're not hiding a guy in your room are you?" She jokes teasingly. You pause stiffening briefly.
"Heh, two actually." You hum in response.
"Oh wow, so popular." Your mom chuckles in amusement, thinking it was a joke. "Want to go out for breakfast?" She inquires.
"What time did you get home? Shouldn't you rest?" You ask.
"I got home just this morning, but I'm so hungry." She offers a slight sheepish smile.
"... Alright but you should rest when we get back. I'll go get ready." You tell her before slipping back into your room. Zoro was sitting up looking grumpy, his feline ears drooping. He looks at you.
"Come back." He frowns, reaching for you.
"Sorry, I'm going out for breakfast with my mom. You two can do what you like while I'm away. I might have modern clothes thatll fit you..." You look to the closet and Kid sits up, scratching the back of his head.
"Your mom..." He echoes. "Should we hide?" He inquires.
"Just... Try not to alert her that you're living here." You smile, touching his chest. "See you two when I get back." You add before grabbing some clothes and going to change in your bathroom. You soon go out, blinking as Kid eases on his jacket. "Hm? You going out?" You tilt your head.
"I want to meet her. So I'll meet you at wherever you're going to eat." He responds. Your eyebrows raise in surprise.
"Huh?" You huff, taken aback.
"What's with that look?" He raises an eyebrow.
"Just surprised. Dont get lost." You touch his shoulder. He nods quietly and Zoro stands grumpily.
"I want to meet her too." Zoro states.
"Um..." You start but Kid glares at him.
"No, we don't need to go hunting for you again." Kid growls.
"... Next time." You assure Zoro when he glares back.
"___! Lets go." Your mom calls.
"Coming!" You call. "And for the love of all good things Zoro do not wander off." You murmur before heading out.
"You seem different... Did something happen while I was away?" Your mom asks curiously.
"Um... No not much." You scratch your cheek. You didn't know how to make the latest events sound... Not crazy at least.
"Mhm..." She leans forward, eyeing you carefully.
"What? Mom?" You frown slightly.
"You're glowing." She nods smiling. You pause and blush slightly. "Is it Ace?"
"What? No! Mom I-" You stammer.
"___?" A familiar voice makes you squeak slightly and look up at Kid. "You okay?"
"Y-Yeah Kid I'm fine." You manage swiftly with a smile, standing up and hugging him.
"You made a new friend." Your mom comments. You pull away from Kid and clear your throat.
"This is-"
"Eustass Kid. It's nice to meet you." Kid offers a hand with a smile. She takes it, glancing between you two.
"Sit with us Kid, we were about to order." She hums.
"Is that okay? I know you just got back, right?" He glances at you unsurely.
"It's fine." She assures. He glances at you again and you nod, sitting again. He sits as well, rather awkwardly. But after a few moments the three of you start to chat. You spend most of the day together. Shopping, sight seeing, lunch. Kid stayed beside you the whole time too. The sun started to go down and your mom decides to leave you two alone- without telling either of you.
"You said you were going to get snacks. Where are you? The movie is about to start." You whisper into your phone.
"Oh, I lied, you two have fun though, be home by ten." She chuckles on the other end.
"Mom!" You gasp blushing.
"Bye!" She chimes before hanging up. You lower your phone dumbfounded.
"Is she alright?" Kid asks, raising an nonexistent eyebrow at you.
"... Yeah she just sorta left us..." You admit.
"Why?" He asks in confusion.
"No idea..." You bluff. You were concerned about showing Kid the big screen to begin with. "But we already got the tickets..."
"Then lets go." Kid steps to your side. "She planned this right? I'm not sure what for, but lets go." He offers a small smile. You blink a few times before nodding.
"Okay then." You breathe, following him into the show room. He looks at all curiously, you find some seats for both of you, sitting together as the lights dim.
As you expected, he got a bit freked out during it, even pulling you onto his lap and holding you protectively. You stopped watching at that point, watching him quietly. He really was determined to protect you. Did he really care that much? He pauses feeling your gaze and meets it.
"I'm... Overreacting right?" He guesses with a small frown.
"No. This is fine." You smile a bit, resting your head on his shoulder. He pauses, watching you quietly before brushing a knuckle against your cheek. You blink, looking into his eyes quietly. He leans over but a blast from the movie makes him jump and look to the screen again. You smile a bit and kiss his cheek, making him freeze.
After the movie you two start for home. "That was fun.." You hum. "We should do that again."
"Really? Alright then." Kid smiles a bit, putting his hands in his pockets. You smile too, looking to the sky and pausing, catching a pink feather.
"Huh? What's this from?" You mutter as Kid freezes, eyes staring at it.
"There's no way..." He stops in alarm.
"Kid? What's wrong?" You ask looking at him in confusion. He looks around uneasily before he stops, eyes widening on a figure ahead.
"... Law?" He breathes as you follow his gaze to a man in a black coat, hood hiding his face. You feel a chill as his silver eyes pen on Kid. He suddenly lunges, a sword appearing in his hand.
"Kid!" You gasp in alarm. Kid moves forward, hands overhead, making his greatsword appear from the air, bringing it down on Law. The other stops his blade easily, hood falling back to reveal raven colored hair and demonic horns. 'A champion...' You realize in awe.
"What the hell are you doing Trafalgar?" Kid growls.
"Must... Obey..." Law manages. You blink as Kid knocks him back.
"Obey who?" You ask.
"Fufufu, his master of course." A tall man chuckles, coming up. You look at the blond, feeling the blood leave your face.
"Who're you...?" You murmur uneasily.
"I am Donquixote Doflamingo little master." He smiles. "I'm here to take your champion." His words sent a chill down your spine while igniting a fire in your chest.
"Screw off old guy. Kid belongs to no one but himself." You growl. Kid smirks at that, and Law's eyes glint to you.
"Sweetheart you have no idea who you are talking to." Doflamingo chuckles.
"Neither do you." You glare at him evenly. He pauses before grinning.
"Interesting... Law. Show her the real might of a champion with an experienced master." He rumbles.
"I hope you realize how fucked up you just sounded." You frown. Law hesitates and Doflamingo growls, smacking him roughly.
"I said now!" He snaps. You flinch and Law grits his teeth.
"ROOM!" Law growls as a large bubble forms around them.
"___! Get out of-" Kid cuts off as you hurl a street trashcan at Doflamingo. "___?" He manages in surprise.
"Alright, you wanna fight? Lets fight." You growl angrily, starting at the stunned blond man.
"You..." Doflamingo huffs through grit teeth.
"Kid. Take his champion down! He's coming with us after I kick this guy's teeth in!" You inform him, eyes set on Doflamingo.
"Alright!" Kid grins, swinging at Law. Doflamingo growls, looking around and noticing the crowd that had formed. He pauses and backs up.
"Law, get us out of here. And you little master, be ready for our next meeting." His sunglasses glint at you dangerously.
"I will be..." You glare at him before looking to Law. "I'm going to come for you Law. So wait." You tell the champion. His silvery eyes widen and Doflamingo snaps his fingers, making him blink before they vanish. You frown at that and Kid grabs your hand.
"We should run." He breathes. You nod and run away from the shocked crowd with him. You frown a bit to yourself once you're nearly home.
"That poor champion..." You breathe looking down.
"That's how most masters were... and I guess there's still some from back then... Or..." He trails off frowning.
"Or what.?" You peer at him. He pauses and blinks.
"Hey. That thing you said to Law before he left... Don't tell anyone else that again." He frowns.
"Huh?"
"Actually. Why were you so pumped over that demon?" He huffs in annoyance.
"What?" You blink dumbfounded. "I wasn't! The Doflamingo guy pissed me off is all!"
"How? You hardly seem like the angry type." He points out.
"He reminded me of someone. And that made me want to take him out." You glare ahead. Kid blinks before smiling a bit and putting a hand on your head.
"You're full of surprises." He breathes lightly. You offer a smile, separating once you reach home. You go in and let out a breath.
"Hey! Did you have fun on your date?" Your mom greets smirking. You go over, pinching her cheeks.
"It was supposed to be mother- daughter time!" You huff.
"Come on, ___. I never seen you with anybody." She pulls her face away. "Consider it a treat for me." She smiles.
"You're so weird..." You sigh. "Anyway I'm checking in now.." You add starting for your room.
"Sleep well. I'll see you tomorrow." She hums.
"Goodnight." You smile heading into your room as Kid sits on the bed. You frown going to the computer. "Alright Donquixote. Lets see if I can find some information on you..."
