—y/n's pov—
you awake to the sound of your phone buzzing, i roll over to the nightstand to check who's calling you. 'dani' the contact read, you rubbed your eyes and squinted, the moon slowly faded away and the sun slowly crept out, leaving a pink and orange tint in the sky. your heart beats faster as you accept the call,
'hello?' you sleepily ask
'rise and shine, meet me on the roof of your apartment' daniel quickly stayed before hanging up
confused, you looked at your phone, then got up and made your way to the closet to pick out jeans and a hoodie. you didn't bother to put on any makeup since you weren't going anywhere that day. once you were finished changing, you grabbed your phone and keys and headed up to the roof. there a figure stood facing towards the sunrise. he had on black ripped jeans, a hoodie and a white hat.
'daniel?' you called out
the figure turns around and smiles
'hey, look who finally made it' he laughs, your heart fluttering at the sound of his voice
'oh shut it' you groan as you walk next to him
'so what was so important that you needed to call me up to the roof at 6?' you question
'so you really wanna know huh?' he smiled
you give him a look and he laughs, 'ok, ok, i'll tell you'
content with his response, you turn your head to face the sunrise once again.
'i like you, a lot' he breathes out
your cheeks turn a dark shade of pink, you look at the boy and furrow your eyebrows
'you do?' you ask
'yeah' he replies while rubbing his neck, 'i have for a while, but i just haven't had the guts to tell you until now'
you give him a gentle smile and turn your body towards him, you catch him off guard as you grab a hold of his hands
'well i like you too' you smile
a light shade of pink flows across his cheeks, he gives you his toothy grin and chuckles
'i know this is gonna be really cliche doing this under the sunrise but will you be my girlfriend?' he asks
'of course' you respond
he hugs you tightly, kissing the top of your head. you laugh into his chest and pull away.
'so, you up to visit the boys today?' he smiles
'yeah, but what about jack?' you question
'i talked to him yesterday and he told me he felt horrible about how he treated you. but he told me it's fine if you come over, also if you don't mind, his girlfriend is coming over too' he responds, awkwardly rubbing his neck
'cool, so that means i can meet my new best friend?' you jump in excitement
'wait so you're not angry?' daniel furrows his eyebrows
'why should i? what's done is done, as long as jack's happy, i'm happy, i just want my best friends to be happy' you reply
'before we go, i have to go freshen up a bit' you continue
'well let's hurry since they're expecting us to be there in an hour and a half' daniel warns
'i won't take long, i promise'

we arrived at the house after riding in an uber for half an hour, daniel knocks on the door and it immediately opens to chaos
'sorry, the guys decided to have a pillow fight again' corbyn shrugs as he lets us in
who i assume is jack's girlfriend stops and makes her way over to me.
'hey, i'm gabbie' she exclaims
'hey gabbie, i'm y/n' you greet her
'i already know that we're already gonna be best friends' she smirks crossing her arms
'so what do you like?' you ask her
'i love the beach and i surf a lot too' she replies
'no way! i surf all the time!' you excitingly exclaim
'we should totally go out sometime' she laughs
'we definitely should!' i respond
'oh hey y/n!' zach yells before getting smacked in the face with a pillow
jack immediately turns and meets my gaze, 'hey y/n' he smiles weakly
everyone immediately feels the tension fill the room and retreats into the kitchen, jack slowly approaches you and sighs
'look, i'm sorry for being a complete idiot i honestly didn't kn-'
'i forgive you' you interrupt his sentence
'what?'
'i said i forgive you jack, we all make mistakes. i'm happy for you, you finally found someone you're happy with and that's all i care about' you smile at the shocked boy
'uh, well, thank you' he stutters
'don't screw it up avery' you joke as you walk away from him
'so we're cool?' he yells
'yes we're cool, so stop asking me so many questions' you yell back
'wow you're rude!' he huffs
'get over it you big baby' you retort
'bully' he whispers
'that's what best friends are for' you wink before joining the snickering group
