Mitch's POV
I intertwined our hands as I led Y/N into her favorite café. After Hurley and I took down Ghost, I decided to go off on my own. I took down a few drug lords, mob bosses, and corrupt politicians.
I was spending time in Italy when I met Y/N. She was studying abroad while I was gaining intel on a possible underground casino when I bumped into her. Literally bumped into her.

I left my hotel room, deciding to go out and get food instead of eating the crappy room service food. I walked down the sidewalk, but stopped when I saw a small café across the street. With a shrug and a sigh, I looked both ways before quickly jogging across the street.
I looked behind me as I opened the door. I turned around, instantly bumping into someone. I gasped when I felt the hot liquid now spilt on both of us. I started to get angry as I looked down at my shirt that was now covered in hot coffee.
I looked up and was about to yell at the person but stopped when I saw a beautiful girl looking at me with wide eyes.
"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!" She turned around and grabbed a few napkins from a nearby table. I watched as she awkwardly tried to dry my shirt off.
"It's fine," I stuttered as she continued to dab me with napkins. She looked up at me and when our eyes met, my heart stopped.
I cleared my throat and took a step back as I internally scolded myself. Why was I feeling like this? I just met her. . .
"I really am sorry," she said, the half-wet napkins still in her hands. "I really should have been watching where I was going. My mother always used to joke that I am in my head too much and that, sooner or later, I was going to hurt someone. I guess she was right. I should call her. . ."
"It's okay," I said, cutting her off. "Really. It's just a shirt." I laughed awkwardly, internally kicking myself. I smiled when she let out a small laugh.
"Can I at least buy you a cup of coffee to make up for dumping mine on you?"
"Sure," I said before I could stop myself.
"I'm Y/N," she smiled sweetly as she reached her hand out for me to take.
Without hesitation I reached out and shook her hand. The second I grabbed it, I felt a bolt of electricity shoot up my arm.
"Mitch."

I eventually found the underground casino I was looking for, but I ended up staying in Italy longer. Whenever I wasn't getting myself in trouble or going undercover, I was spending time with Y/N.
After that day in the café, we went to lunch a few more times before I officially asked her out. We've been dating for almost two years.
After telling her for weeks that I was just there on vacation, I decided to get a job. It wasn't anything major. Just driving people around, mainly tourists.
After we had been dating for six months, Y/N found out I was still living in the hotel. So, she suggested we find an apartment together. We found one close to town and close to her school.
Y/N finished her schooling last week and we were about to leave Italy. She got into UCLA's medical school so we were moving back to the states.
"Where are we going?" Y/N laughed as I led her down the street we've walked thousands of times, our hands intertwined.
"I told you," I laughed. "It's a surprise." I sent her a wink making her playfully stick her tongue out at me. I stopped walking and pulled her in, pressing my lips to hers. I heard her giggle into the kiss.
"Hey! Cosa c'è di sbagliato in voi due? Questo è un luogo pubblico. Adolescenti americani," grumbled an annoyed Italian man.
We pulled apart, laughing. "What did he say?" Y/N asked with the smile that always made my heart skip a beat.
"Something about this being a public place and us being annoying American teens," I shrugged, pulling her in for another kiss.
She pulled away and smiled up at me. "I love you, Mitch."
"I love you too, Y/N." I pressed a soft kiss to her lips before pulling away with a playful smirk.
"Come on," I said, grabbing her hand and leading her down the street. I smiled as we stopped in front of the café where we first met.
"What are we doing here?" She looked over at me with a big smile on her face and happy tears building up in her eyes.
"Since we are leaving tomorrow, I thought it would be a fun idea to go to the café where we met for our last meal here in Italy. Well, our last lunch," I said with a small laugh, ignoring how nervous I suddenly felt.
She stood on her toes and pressed a soft kiss to my lips. "I love it,"she whispered when we pulled away. I grabbed her hand and led her inside.
We sat through lunch, talking about anything and everything. One of the things I love about Y/N is how easy it is to tell her things. Especially the truth.
When I told her about Katrina, Hurley, and Ghost she was completely understanding. She didn't judge me. She didn't think I was crazy. She believed me.
"What do you want to do the rest of the day?" I asked after we had finished eating.
"I don't know," she shrugged. "Maybe we could just walk around? Maybe do some window shopping?"
"That's a great idea," I smiled as I lifted her hand I was holding up to my lips and kissed her knuckles. "I'm just going to run to the bathroom real quick and then we can go."
She nodded as I stood up. I leaned down and kissed her forehead before heading to the bathroom.
After I was done, I washed my hands and walked back out to our table. My eyes narrowed when I saw our table was empty. I looked around but couldn't find her. I quickly ran to the woman's restroom to find it empty. My heart dropped into the pit of my stomach and my hands started to shake as I walked back to our empty table.
"Where are you Y/N?" I mumbled, all my training that I haven't used in a year and a half coming rushing back. I jogged outside and looked at the busy street.
I froze when I saw a man leading a woman who was wearing the same jacket Y/N had on, to a car. I gasped when the woman turned around.
"Y/N," I said under my breath. She looked around and when her eyes met mine, she started to fight the man off.
I ran across the street, dodging cars, as the man continued to hold her. I froze when I saw him turn and punch her.
"No!" I yelled as she fell limp in his arms. The man looked up at me and smirked as he placed her in the trunk of his car. I ran over, dodging through the crowd of people.
When I got to him, he was getting into the driver seat. "Hey," I yelled making him turn around. I pushed the door, pinning him, as I punched his face. I tore the door open and grabbed the front of the guys' shirt. As anger pulsed through my veins, I punched him over and over.
I grabbed his shirt and brought his bloody face closer to mine. "You never should have laid a finger on her," I sneered at him. I punched him one more time, knocking him out.
I tore the keys from the ignition and walked around to the back of the car. I unlocked the trunk and threw it open. My heart sank when I saw Y/N lying unconscious. "Y/N," I said gently as I tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
Her eyes fluttered open as she jumped away from me. "Y/N," I soothed. "It's me, baby."
"Mitch?" Her voice broke as she looked at me with tears in her eyes. I leaned down and gently picked her up and got her out of the trunk.
The second her feet were on the ground I pulled her into my chest, wrapping my arms tightly around her. "I'm here, baby." I whispered as I ran my fingers through her hair.
"Everything is going to be okay. I got you. I'm so sorry."
Once I finally calmed down, I pulled away and looked her over. When I saw the bruise forming on her cheek, my heart sank. "I'm so sorry," I said softly as I reached up and gently cupped her cheek. I pulled her back into my chest, hugging her tightly. "I'm so sorry, baby." I whispered over and over again.
"It's okay, Mitch," she said. "I'm okay."
I pulled away and looked at her intently. "I promise, when we move back to the states, I will never let anything happen to you. I love you, Y/N."
"I love you too, Mitch."
