"Randy?" Grace called, walking up the stairs
"Yeah?" She heard back from the bedroom, they had just celebrated another 6 months together, making it a 9 month relationship so far and Grace felt horrible about what she was gonna tell Randy
She felt her nerves race as she walked down the hallway to their bedroom of their shared house.
"Can we talk?" She asked, watching him sit up, with his laptop
"Of course," he agreed, putting it on the bedside table
"Wanna stay up here? Or go downstairs?" He asked her
"We can stay up here," she dismissed and turned to him as he put a hand on her cheek and she pressed a kiss to his palm
"Do you love me?" She asked him
"Yes." He stated without hesitation
"Are you in love with me?" She asked and he opened his mouth and paused
"Yes." He replied and she sighed
"I think we need a break." She said and he sighed
"Me to," he said and she looked at him
"I'll be out by tomorrow." She told him and walked out, he put his hands over his face and sighed a shaky breath as his eyes reddened with unshed tears, Grace walked down the stairs
"John, I need a ride tomorrow," she said on the phone and he agreed to pick her up
She sat at the coffee table, tears in her eyes, she knew that this was for the best though. The first few months had been incredible with Randy, but after awhile neither of them could deny the spark had gone out a little. They didn't make love anymore, it was kinda just emotionless sex. There wasn't a spark.
The next day came way too fast, Randy was asleep when Grace was packing and had gone to work out before she woke up. They had slept in the same bed last night but didn't touch at any point
She woke up and let John into the house, no matter their past, but he was still her best friend who she needed emotionally right now
She walked into the dressing room where all of her bags was and she froze and walked over to the bunch of flowers and the envelope next to it
She smiled as she opened it, staring at the flowers
"Nice card?" John asked from behind her as he watched her watch the letter
She laughed breathlessly with tears in her eyes
"The best." She replied, staring at the words so neatly written on the card
"Ready to go?" John asked her and she nodded, putting the card in her jacket pocket and walking with both her suitcases while John carried three downstairs
She walked back upstairs while John was loading the car and picked one flower from the vase and held it, with the card pressed to her chest, she sighed and leaned down to smell the beautiful flowers
She smiled sadly as she looked around. She made sure to leave the letter she had written for him. The picture of her and Randy kissing on the wall haunted her
She walked back downstairs and felt tears swelling in her eyes as she stared at the place she already considered home
"Love you Randy," she whispered as she closed and locked the door behind her and got into the car with John
Randy got home and immediately felt lonely, and he knew she was gone.
He walked into her dressing room and sighed when he saw it was bare. He walked into his bedroom, seeing the envelope laying on his pillow
He smiled slightly and walked over to it, picking it up and taking out the piece of paper
Dear Randy,
So much has happened in the past few months. Moments I'll treasure forever. There is one thing I regret more than anything though. The fact that we fell out of love, that breaks my heart more than anything.
I know I'll never meet someone I love more than you and maybe that's a good thing. I know that things don't look perfect right now, maybe far from it. I know this isn't goodbye. We can work on each other, let's work on us and gradually fall back in love.
I love you, more than you'll ever know
Yours always,
Grace.
Randy huffed a laugh as she signed off with her name and a blot of lipstick, in a kiss. He smiled and pressed his lips over the mark of hers
Grace was already on a plane heading to Connecticut for Smackdown Live
She sat by the window, watching the dark night that was lit up by the city lights shining from below. She looked around to see everyone either sleeping or too busy to notice and she took out Randy's card and opened it again
Grace,
The thought of being away from you for even an hour kills me. I don't know how long it'll take for you and me to fix things and I don't actually care either. My feelings won't change. I love you so much Grace.
The universe has mysterious ways of working and I've watched you become this even more incredible person while we've been together and honestly, these 9 months have been the best. I have no regrets with the time we spent together, other than the fact that I let you go so easily.
I promise that one day, we'll find our way back to each other. I love you Grace. I always have and I always will. I'll do whatever it takes to have you back in my arms, but maybe this is what we need. A break so we can realize just how much we actually need each other and maybe that'll be a step in the right direction.
Until that moment, you're forever in my heart, forever on my mind, forever under my skin, we'll get through this baby girl. We will. I promise.
I love you Grace
Yours forever,
Randy.
She smiled and closed her eyes tightly as she pressed the card to her lips
John opened his eyes and looked over to her, and he sighed, he hated to see her hurting.
"You're gonna be okay," he promised and she smiled and nodded
"I know," she admitted and sighed as she looked at the front of the card, it was a picture of her and Randy. A really old picture
She smiled and ran her fingers over his face on the picture. This was gonna be so hard, she already could feel the hurt in her heart but she also knew it was for the best. Atleast, that's what she hoped
