Beep Beep Beep
Ugh. I swear that sound alone is gonna be the death of me...
I got up from the bed slowly so the heart moniter wouldn't give me away. Then walked to my only roomate Clara, shes in a coma so shes good company. I quickly waited for the pause between the heart beeps 1,2 1,2 1,2.....NOW! I clipped my finger clasp onto one of Clara's fingers so it would think her heartbeat was mine. Hers is a little slower but the nurses will think I'm asleep.
"Thanks Clara" I kissed her cheek and crept out into the hallway. I walked to the staircase heading to the roof. There was going to be a full moon and I wanted to see it before I was caught.
Once I made it I just sat down, panting....God this disease was a burden. Then I saw it...the moon looked go big and...touchable...the face in the moon looked like...it was screaming, and for the first time since the incident I sang one of my favorite songs, Hero by Skillet.

God that song...it's sounds dumb but I wish it really was true for me...
"I wish a hero could save me before I die..." then I heard scuffing behind me and I whipped around, there was a boy who looked my age.., with straight black hair covering one of his blue eyes that looked silver in the light of the moon. He was cute but I didn't care for boys...not now at least.
He just stared at me with something shining in his eyes...I was getting weirded out so I talked first,
"Y'know if you were gonna listen, I should've charged you for a first class viewing of my voice's debut." I said. He looked like he wasn't expecting that then smirked, then his voice that was very comforting yet arrogant like his smirk said, "Well I was just coming to my spot, didn't expect a mostly naked girl to be singing Skillet."
"You like Skillet?! I like you more now. Their awesome...and really speak to me..." I wispered the last comment hoping he wouldn't ask or give me pity.
"So you just ignore the mostly naked remark?"
"Yep" I said "Most pateints wear this anyway. "
"Yeah, but since most of 'em either can't get up or the wear the pants right?" He questioned.
"There not comfortable so i'm wearing ripped pants turned shorts see?" Then I lifted my gown a little to show my shorts. Then he did something I so did NOT expect HE FRIGGIN' BLUSHED?! "Dude, there shorts not panties."
He fake scowled still a little red and spat, "There pretty damned close."
"Bloody hell dude chill, what're you 5?"
"I'm 13 thanks" He snapped
"Same, but bout as far as I'm concerned I'll be dead young"
Then he did something else I wasn't expecting...he hugged me. I haven't been hugged in a really long time...I never counted the nurse who hugged me out of pity but he looked like he was the one dying...I swore he was about to cry...then I started to cry.....
He just held me the whole time then he started to sing the song I did so I sang with him too... he felt closer to me than anyone else.
After I was all cried out I finally asked what I wanted to ask for a long time, "Who're you anyways?"
"Lucas"
"I'm Ren"
"Ren?"
"Short for Renee but it's too girly to me so I go by Ren. Though the damn nurses refuse saying it's pretty." I scowled remembering that...
He chuckled at me, it sounded warm and his heart sounded nice. "Well I'll call you Ren then."
I snuggled a little closer and said, "Thanks Luke."
"Mmm I like Lucas more"
"Fine as long as you call me Ren I'll call you Lucas."
"Well lemme take you back to your room."
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwww!!!"
"Hey! Youre...sick" Lucas looked pained again, "So you need to get healthy and being out here for more than an hour is bad for a girl."
"Fine then every night I'll come at 11 for an hour and you have to be here!" I snapped, I didn't want him to go...and when I'm scared I get angry.
"Okay."
"Fine then I'll go back..." I pouted a little...don't think I'm a baby I just liked my new friend.
"Good" Then he grabbed my hand and started to walk.
I got to my room gave him a hug and madde him swear he'd come back. Once he did I lossened my grip.
Then he grabbed me again and kissed my cheek. "Goodnight" He whispered so softly...and I kissed him back and said, "I will, your the reason it's good tonight, so...thanks."
I went in, clipped back my heart moniter and laid back down...my heart was a little faster but it calmed down. Then I whispered, "Lucas" as I touched my cheek and sighed content for the first time in a while, and drifted off to sleep....
Lucas POV
"Ren..." then I walked off back to my parents room.
