After 2 days
*Nandini*
I am recovering well; all because of my family's love and care. Manik also stays here with me even though I insist him to go to office. But you all know him...he says;
"I can do the work from here."
Huh! Manik and his logics!
Even right now he is doing some work. He is looking at something in his tablet.
"Manik what are you doing?"
I asked out of curiosity.
"Nandini vo Cabir aur navya ki engagement ka decor check kar Raha hoon"
He asked still looking at the tablet.
Hearing him my face fell.
Getting no reply from me; he looked at me and seeing my sad face; came up to me and said;
"What happened?"
"Because of me; tum Apne hi bhai ki engagement ki preparations me help nahi kar pa rahe. I am very sorry!"
To my statement he replied, a bit disappointed,
" Nandini, you don't have to say sorry for every damn thing!! And who said ki main preparations me help nahi kar Raha? I am here with you but still I am checking the preparations from here. You are as important as Cabir is for me..so never say that again!!"
But the way I m , I still was feeling bad..and I again tried to say...
"But..."
Before I could say any further.. came cabir's voice who had been listening to our conversation all this while,
"But kuch nahi!"
He came near us and then continued,
"Vaise bhi konsa Ghar par rehke ye Kam karta hai? Karte to ye log hai. He just checks if they did it right or no!! Isliye tumhe Bura feel karne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai!"
His words made sense and realising I smiled slightly.
"Ye to bas apni beauty sleep leta hai Ghar pe"
Manik gave Cabir a glare as he said this and I laughed hearing his statement.
"When will I be discharged Manik?"
I asked suddenly.
"Kyun? Kya hua?"
He asked confused.
"What do you mean by Kyun? Cabir and navya ki engagement hai. I had promised Navya that main uski help karungi shopping me."
I explained him.
"Koi zaroorat nahi hai"
Came Navya's voice from behind who was carrying a lot of bags.
"First of all..you are not fit for doing that and secondly I have already completed my shopping so you can't make any excuses."
I looked at her angrily. She just ruined my plan of escaping this hospital. But wait..I have another idea. I smiled to myself mischievously and said;
"What about my clothes?I have to buy clothes too!"
I am sure now they won't be able to say anything. But to my surprise;
"No need! I have bought them."
Said Manik and suddenly realised what he said.
"I..I mean..I told mom to buy them for you. So..."
He tried to cover up but miserably failed. His face went red with embarassment. While I smiled thinking how lucky I am.
"Seekho kuch Manik se!"
Navya said to Cabir while she hit him.
"Vo..uh..excuse me. I m getting a call!!"
Manik said making an excuse and ran outside.
"Main bhi Abhi Aya"
Saying this; Cabir too left.
"Kitna pyar karta hai na vo tumse!"
Navya said out of nowhere.
"P..pyar?? Wo Navya..it's just.."
I tried to say..but interrupting me she said,
"Kab tak? Kab tak avoid karogi? You love him or not..but he loves you like crazy Nandu!"
She said holding my hands. I looked at her and said;
"Navya, I think.."
Before I could continue Manik and Cabir came in.
" Uhmm..Navya I think we should leave."
Cabir said and they both left. Before leaving Navya gave me a glance.
After they left there was an awkward silence between us. I was pondering over the words Navya said and Manik because of his own statements.
"Um..manik please doctor Ko Pucho na!!"
I tried to change the atmosphere.
"Kya?"
He asked
"When will I be discharged?"
I said. Before Manik could say anything the doctor came in and said;
"After two days."
To which I replied,
"After two days. That means one day before the engagement. Right Manik?"
"Yeah..."
He replied.
"Yipeeeeeeeee"
My happiness knew no boundaries.
"But you have to take care of yourself. No uchalna kudna. Okay?! You still have weakness."
"Okay"
I agreed and he went after a normal check up.
Two days passed very quickly with nothing eventful happened except I and Manik came closer with each passing day and today is the day when I will finally be discharged. I am so happy.
