I looked out the window.
Another flash caressed the sky.
A rolling drum following in a crescendo of percussion
as the sky's tears roll down the clear face.
Another blink as hot sparks touch the oblivion.
A clash of cymbals muffled by a crackle.
Red tongues licking the glowing charcoal.
Liquid stones clash against the field in defiance.
Creating a symphony of beating drums
And clapping gods filling the darkness in light
For only a second, their wrath unleashed
For only a second the outside is bright.
The roar of the sky does not phase the red
It's flickering glow calm and full.
I looked out the window
The percussion still playing its tune
In time to the fingers twisting and flicking
Showing its defiance in a calm crackle
A clocks lazy hand with a constant ticking
Is oblivious to all of the fighting
As it keeps time to the thunder and fire.
