I watched in horror as Nagi had his voice box ripped out on the television. I knew that he would throw the fight forhis wife and unborn child...but such cruelty. Then what they did next..
"No, this is."
They cut his wife, "N-No, not the child."
Senji bursts in my room and saw my tears,
"Nagi...his-"
Senji pulls me in his arms, "I saw, but there is nothing that we can do. These sadistic bastards will do what they want."
Before Senji left soliders rushed in my room. I scowl,
"What is this?"
They take out their stun guns and zap me until I pass out. I wake up and a bed, tied down. I turn and out of the shadows came Tamaki, that snake bastard.
I yell, "How could you do this to Nagi?!"
He frowns, "I wasonly following the rules, He cheated so they both had to be-"
"The child...it did nothing, it was so pure...you monster!"
I look to my left and see the dead body of Nagi's wife with her stomach cut open. Her dead eyes wide and even horrific.
Tamaki says, "Ah yes...the child, oh what to do."
"What do you plan to do?"
"Well...I suppose with your power the child could live. But with you being such a danger to many, your branch of sin could save it...oh yeah, she's a girl by the way."
I pull at my chains, "I-I will do anything to save the child."
He snaps his fingers and I get stuck with a needle, going out like a light. Once I awake I look down to see my stomach stretched and stapled. The pain was unimaginable...but I felt her...she's alive. The monitors hear her heart beating. I held my stomach and cried.
"Forgive me Nagi, but I couldn't let your daughter die."
'Do i...how do I tell him?' A few weeks pass and they put me pack in my room to rest, tossing a candy to me on the way out. I force it down, 'Never will I get over the taste,' Suddenly Senji bursts in.
"[F/N], you're alive, I thought for sure that they-"
He looked me over and then flushed,
"H-How did?"
I run to hug him, he took a step back in surprise but gave in,
"Nagi-they took the baby..and they-I couldn't let her die."
"You mean they..and?"
I look up, "Senji, your eye?"
He chuckles, "Yeah, the woodpecker got me a few days ago, He's a good one..So did they hurt you?"
I sadden, "No, they put me out, they said since I heal fast that I was the one that they wanted. How is he?"
"He started a group called Scar Chain to take this place down. He's gone a bit crazy if you'd ask me."
He looks at my stomach, "Does it hurt?"
"A bit, but it has healed mostly. I'm just happy that she is alright...Nagi deserves happiness."
"But you do as well, you barely know him."
"I know him enough to save his child when all was lost. The-The child did nothing wrong."
Senji sighs, "I know, you should tell him. Do it slowly or I don't really know...I'm sure that he will be greatful."
I nod and then we both hear a scream in the hallway. We looked and it was Mina with a dark haired kid.
"What's going on?"
Mina looked shocked at my state,
"[F/N], what happened to you?"
I scoff at her fake kindness, she must be messing with the kid, I answer,
"I was going to ask you the same thing, we heard a scream."
The boy interupts, "Sorry, it was my fault, I bumped into her and she dropped the plant pot. My name is Ganta Igarashi."
"[Full Name], you must be the woodpecker that hurt Senji?"
He stiffens, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean-I."
I stop him, "Senji seems to like you, just dont tell him that."
Senji is behind me, "You know I can hear you right?"
I chuckle, "Take care Ganta, see ya."
I head to where I heard Scar Chain had their little headquarters. It was just a bar but it was pretty quiet. I had a blanket to cover my stomach the best I could. I saw Nagi but his voie was different.
"Nagi?"
He turns and smiles, "[F/N], I haven't seen you in a while, and never here to be honest, do you need anything?"
"I-I would like to talk with you...alone...please?"
He saw my silent plea and cleared the bar,
"So, where have you been? You know, my wife always said that you showered her with gifts and candy if she ever ran low. You were a great person to her...I thank you for that."
I begin to cry, "Nagi..they took me, dragged me by force...to her, what they did...it was wrong."
His eyes widen, "My child! [F/N] did they?"
"No, but I'm sorry. I begged them to let me save her."
I opened my blanket to show my large stomach,
"I couldn't let them take her too..I'm so sorry, I couldn't save your wife."
I looked up, expecting anger, but he had a smile along with tears. He fell to his knees and grasps my stomach.
"You saved her, my little girl, my world, I'm not alone in this world anymore."
He kissed my stomach and the baby kicked, he eyes lit up as he stood up.
"[F/N], words cannot describe how thankful I am, and no deeds can repay what it has costed you. I will always take care of you from now on. I will try to repay what you did for my wife while she was still alive."
He still held on to my stomach for a while. We sat on a couch and he just sat there holding and rubbing my stomach. I didn't mind at all, it was hic child after all. He got up and let the other back in and he told them with starlit eyes on how I saved his little girl. All were shocked and asked the hows and whys, I answered but they all seemed concerned.
Nagi says, "This doesn't change anything, it actually makes me want to get out more to give my daughter a life away from this."
They all looked relieved and they let out a sigh. I got ready to leave when Nagi stopped me.
"Where are you going?"
"I-uh back to my room."
"Oh...could I maybe walk you back?"
"Sure."
We walk for a bit and he chuckled,
"You know, I was actually hoping that you would move in with me, but you need your privacy."
I looked up and he smiled, but his eyes were not,
"I guess I wouldn't mind...I mean, she is your daughter and I would never keep her from you."
He looked a bit shocked, "But I worry about you as well, I don't want those undertakers to give you trouble."
I smile, "I guess you are my seond pair of hands to bring my things to your place."
He smiles back, "Thank you...really."
I nod before we ender my room and grab my things. Once I unpack mostly everything I shower before bed. I exit and was planning on sleeping on the couch but he insisted that since his bed was large to share so I didn't argue. I cover up and an image plays in my mind.
"Nagi?"
"Hm?"
"She-She looks like both of you."
"What?"
"I saw her, before they did the transfer, she is beautiful."
I didn't hear anything for a bit,
"I'm sorry Nagi. I-"
"My wife...was she dead when you saw her?"
"Nagi I dont-"
"Was she alive?"
"...no..."
"Did she suffer?"
I grit my teeth as tears started forming. He turns on the light and looks at me,
"[F/N], please, I need to know."
"But you don't , I don't want you to."
"...[F/N]."
His eyes were pleading, "Her-her eyes were wide with terror..but were dead...Her stomach was cut open like she was some kind of animal. Blood was everywhere...Nagi I am so sorry."
He cuts me off by closing the distance to embrace me strongly, but softly as well.
"I will kill everyone who had any part of hurting her. I already hated them, but to do that, to make the both of us fight. They knew the outcome, I'm sure that they knew that you would say yes. I have to protect not only my daughter, but you as well. You must play a part in the chairman's doings. I will protect you, they will never lay even a finger on you, I promise."
He looks at my flushed face, "Sorry I kind of overreacted."
He moves off of me, "It's alright, just give me a warning next time."
He smiles, "Night."
He shuts off the light. I squirm a bit to get comfortable,
"[F/N]?"
"Yeah?"
"If you don't want to it's fine...but...can I hold you? Just for comfort I guess. To have her close to me."
"I-Yeah, it's fine."
"You sure?"
"Yeah, go ahead."
He scoots to me and he presses his body directly against my back, wraps his arm around to reast on my belly.
He lets out a sigh, "Thank you."
"Good night."
"Night."
