(Y/N P.O.V)
I woke up the following morning feeling fully rested and ready for the day. I could hear Hazel running around and the sound of Connor trying to keep her quiet.

After I heard something being knocked over, I decided it was time to get up. I slipped some slippers on and opened my bedroom door, Hazel quickly dashed over and almost knocked me down.

"Good morning" I laughed as she licked my face. Eventually, she stopped attacking me with kisses.

I walked into the kitchen, immediately noticing (fav. Breakfast food(s)) on the table. Connor was standing beside the table with a smile on his face. I also took notice of a knocked over chair at the table.

"You didn't have to cook me breakfast" I smiled as I sat down after picking up the chair. Connor sat across from me.

"I wanted to. Besides, you usually never eat breakfast, it'll be good for you to eat something in the morning"

My stomach decided to make some lovely grumbling noises as if agreeing with what Connor had said.

I ate relatively quickly so I wouldn't be late for work but still enjoyed the food. Everything tasted amazing and was cooked/made perfectly. Connor must secretly be a chef or something.

Connor did the dishes as I got ready for the day, I put on my usual work clothes and fixed my hair a bit. As I got ready, Hazel decided to let herself into my room.

I cringed as she jumped onto my bed, the thoughts of sleeping in dog hair didn't sound too appealing. But, she's cute so I'll learn to deal with it.

After giving myself a final check over in the mirror, and giving Hazel a pat on the head, I decided I was finally ready to leave.

I grabbed my jacket as I walked out of my room, Connor was filling up hazels food bowl. I glanced at my phone and saw we still had some time before we had to leave.

"I'm gonna take Hazel for a quick walk before we go" I grabbed her leash and attached it to her collar.

(^That's literally how Hazel is if we say the word 'walk' 😂😂)

I walked down the sidewalk, smiling at the people who passed by. Thankfully, not too many people were walking yet. I smiled as the slowly rising sun warmed my skin. The fresh air seemed to take some stress away, and it also helped wake me up a bit more. Hazel also seemed to be enjoying herself as she went around sniffing the ground and barking happily at any birds she saw.

After walking for a few more minutes, I decided to turn back. I didn't really feel like being late today.

"Sorry, Hazel. I'll take you for a long walk tonight" she seemed to understand and once again barked happily.

After returning to my house, I took her leash off and laid it on a table. Connor was already waiting outside for me.

I closed and locked my front door behind me, and got into my car. Connor was sitting in the passenger seat, looking a bit antsy.

"Don't worry, we're not gonna be late" my attempt at reassuring him seemed to work as he nodded at me.

I started the car and drove towards the police station. The radio was playing some music and I couldn't help but sing along.

"You should sing more often. You're really good" I couldn't help but blush as Connor completed me.

I pulled into the parking lot of the police department with a few minutes to spare before we were officially late.

The workday was extremely boring and uneventful. Hank, Connor and I spent the whole day trying to figure out why so many androids are deviating and if we could get any new clues for our investigation. In the end, we found no new clues and basically wasted our entire day.

As I sighed for the hundredth time that day, I decided it was time to head home.

"Ready to go, Connor?" I questioned and he nodded. He stood up and fixed his tie as we walked towards the exit.

I decided to let Connor drive. I hopped into the passenger seat and let out yet another sigh as I closed my eyes.

"All that sighing can't be good for you," Connor said as he closed the car door.

"I'm just stressed over today, I guess. We found absolutely no new clues. We're basically still on square one for this investigation."

"We just need to search harder. There has to be something that's linking all these deviant cases together, we just aren't seeing it yet"

"I'm sure you're right. It's just hard not to worry about it. I mean, this is our jobs that we're talking about. If we can't find any evidence soon I'm scared we'll get fired" Connor shook his head slightly.

"Stop worrying about it so much. Everything will be alright" he gave me a small smile.

Soon after, we pulled up to the house. The sun was slowly setting and the sky was that lovely blue-orange colour.

(Connors P.O.V)
"I'm gonna take Hazel for another walk" I watched as (y/n) grabbed the leash.

"Alright, Be careful" she nodded and stepped outside, closing the door behind her.

I sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. The news was on and they were talking about the deviants.

What (y/n) had said earlier had upset me a bit. I knew what would happen if we were fired from this investigation. I didn't want to be sent back to CyberLife to be destroyed, I know can't let them destroy me. I can understand that it would affect (y/n) if I was sent away to be destroyed.

I don't ever want to be separated from her. Not after what happened yesterday. I want to be with her forever.

I know I shouldn't have these feelings, but I can't help it. I know Amanda's not going to be happy with me, but I can't please everyone. I'd prefer making (y/n) happy rather than Amanda any day.

My train of thought was broken as (y/n) walked through the door. I glanced at a clock and noticed a half hour had passed.

(Y/N P.O.V)
"Hank called me a few minutes ago asking if I could go pick him up from a bar. Care to join?" I took Hazel's leash off and turned to Connor.

"Yes, I'll come with you" I nodded and grabbed my car keys.

I hopped into the car and started driving towards Jimmy's Bar. I'm hoping that Hank stays in one place and doesn't go to another bar. I parked along the sidewalk.

"You can stay here, I'll go get him" Connor nodded as stepped out.

I walked into the bar and glanced around until my eyes landed on Hank who was sitting at his usual place.

"C'mon Hank. I'm not waiting all night" He rolled his eyes and finished his drink.

"Can you stop by a liquor store too? I'm all out at home" his voice sounded tired and depressed.

"Do I look like a taxi to you?" I smirked slightly, trying to lighten the mood. He only shrugged.

Hank got into the back seat and I got back into the driver's seat. I drove to the nearest liquor store, which was only up the street. Hank got out and went inside, reappearing a few minutes later with a case with six beer inside it.

"I'm assuming you're going home now?" I questioned as he sat back down.

"Nah. Can you take me to the Riverside Park?"

I sighed and started the car again. Thankfully, the park wasn't too far away.

I once again parked my car and stepped out. Connor and I followed Hank through the park. Eventually, he sat down on a bench with a beautiful view of the Ambassador Bridge. I sat down on the bench and admired the view.

"Beautiful view, huh?" Hank opened a beer as he spoke, "I used to come here a lot before..." he trailed off as he took a drink.

"You should stop drinking, Lieutenant. It could have serious consequences for your health" Connor gave him a worried look, and Hank just laughed a tiny bit.

"That's the idea"  he took another drink. Silence filled the air once again.

"Before what?"

"Hm?"

"You said 'I used to come here a lot before'. Before what?"

I wanted to tell Connor to stop talking, but there was no point. I knew this was a sensitive topic for Hank.

"Before.. Before nothin'"

"Can I ask you a personal question, lieutenant?"

I leaned my head back on the bench a bit. Connors personal questions can sometimes be way too personal.

"Do all androids ask so many personal questions or is it just you?"

"I saw a photo of a child on your kitchen table. It was your son, right?" I knew this was coming and yet it still surprised me that he questioned that.

"Yeah. His name was Cole" Hank went quiet after saying this, obviously not wanting to talk about it.

Connor slowly started walking forward towards the railing across from us.

"We're not making any progress on this investigation. The deviants have nothing in common. They're all different models, produced at different times, in different places..."

"Well, there must be some link" I decided to speak up as I stared out at the bridge.

"What they have in common is this obsession with rA9... It's almost like some kind of myth. Something they invented that wasn't part of their original program"

"Androids believing in God.. Fuck, what's this world coming to?" Hank took another long drink. I couldn't help but feel worried with the amount of alcohol he was drinking tonight.

"You seem preoccupied, Lieutenant... Is it something to do with what happened back at the Eden Club?" Connor turned to face us.

"Those two girls... they just wanted to be together. They really seemed in love."

"They can simulate human emotions, but they're machines. And machines don't feel anything" it almost seemed like Connor was trying to tell himself this. As if he was simulating human emotions, which he obviously wasn't. He was showing real emotion.

"What about you, Connor?" Hank took another drink then stood up, "you look human, you sound human, but what are you really?"

"I'm whatever you want me to be, lieutenant. Your partner, your buddy to drink with, or just a machine designed to accomplish a task"

"You could've shot those two girls, but you didn't. Why didn't you shoot, Connor?" Hank shoved Connor causing him to stumble back. I quickly stood up.

"Don't hurt him!" Hank just glanced back at me.

"Hm? Some scruples suddenly enter into your program?"

"No! I just decided not to shoot. That's all."

Suddenly, Hank took out his gun and aimed it at Connors' head. My eyes widened as I tried to pull Hank away from him.

"But are you afraid to die, Connor?" I felt tears enter my eyes at the thought of Hank killing Connor.

"Hank, please! Don't hurt him!"

"Stay out of this, (y/n). I don't want you to get hurt" Connor glanced at me then back to Hank.

"I would certainly find it regrettable to be.. interrupted before I can finish this investigation."

"What will happen if I pull this trigger? Hm? Nothing? Oblivion? Android heaven?"

My heart started beating faster as Hank placed his finger over the trigger. By now, tears were rolling down my face.

"Nothing... there would be nothing..." Connors face suddenly turned to an upset look as he said this.

Hanks' hand shook and he lowered the gun. He turned away from us and grabbed his beer of the bench.

"Where are you going?" I yelled after Hank as he walked away.

"To get drunker. I need to think."

Connor and I watched silently as Hank walked out of sight, tears still rolling down my face and Connors mouth slightly open in shock.
