After the devastation caused by the macro gene bomb
The human population began to plumet
Animal affected by the bomb were rapidly becoming more common as the years passed
Pretty soon the animals who had turned outnumbered the humans 12 to 1
Humans became nearly extinct
And in their place the affected animals rose
The event of the bomb detonating was known as the black sunrise
Now humans are considered an endangered species
And in this world you have to accept that what was is gone, and what can, will continue on

???: "what did we say about looking at us you NO FUR"
They relentlessly beat me with wooden bats
Y\N: "grragh, hands off dir-"
I'm cut off by a bat smashing itself into my cheek
I hear a sickening snap
I grab my now broken jaw
I try to scream in pain
Y\N: "AUGHGGGGH"
???: "seems that he hasn't had enough"
They then grab both my arms
I get a good look at him

Ryan: "he looks like he wants more... Ain't that right no fur"
They continue to mercilessly pummel me
My agonized screams are lost in the noise of the city

I don't know how long I've been lying in my own blood
I was left broken and beaten by Ryan and his friends
Everyone who walks by sees me
None help
I start to cry out for help but no one will listen
'I hate this town'
I lay there for what seems like a couple of minutes
When I hear someone shout
???: 'OH MY GOD ARE YO-"
I look and see her
Y\N: "h-helgh m-me plgheaz"
'Good job, almost coherent sentence'
I can barely form a sentence due to my broken jaw
She stands there with a shocked look
'Please Don't leave'
She backs up
'Take me to a hospital at least'
I try to reach out for her
I then realize my arm is broken
The bone pokes through my skin
'OH MY GOD'
I start to hyperventilate
???: "J-JUST WAIT HERE I'M G-GOING TO CALL AN AMBULANCE"
I see her take out her phone
I finally let the pain engulf me and pass out

I open my eyes and squint from the light that's pouring in from the windows
I look around and see that I'm in a hospital room
My arm is in a cast and I have bandages covering the lower half of my head and neck
Just then a doctor walks in
Doctor: "your awake..... That's surprising considering your injuries"
I close my eyes
And I see the cruel smile in his face
I open my eyes quickly
Doctor: "honestly it's been a while since we've had a human in this hospital"
He sighs
Doctor: "well I wont take up time you need to rest"
As he leaves he stops at the door way
Doctor: "oh by the way you have a visitor..... One Mrs. Jacquelyn syne"
'Wait whos Jacquelynne sin"
He leaves
Then the girl from before walks in hiding in to....
I then realize
'And the famous Y/N luck strikes again'
I then see Jacquelynne looking at me
Jacquelyne: "hey..."
She walks towards me and sits in the chair next to me
Jacquelyne: "ok..... This is awkward"
She laughs nervously
I just stare at my lap
I clench my fist shut
She notices this and softly puts her hand in mine
Jacquelynne: "shhh..... Call down I'm not here to hurt you"
I visibly ease up
Y\N: "why did you help me out?"
She looks into my eyes
I look away
Jacquelynne: "you were bleeding, and i couldn't have left you in that alley "
I curiously look at her
And to my surprise she smiles at me
I visibly blush through my bandages, so i try to move on
Y\N: "was I out long? "
Jacquelynne: "yeah you were out for 9 days"
'9 DAYS?! '
She stretches
Jacquelynne: "*yawn*"
Y\N: "wait did you stay with me for that long? "
She nods
......
She then lays down at my feet
Y\N: "!!! "
She looks at me
Jacquelynne: "welp I'm going to rest..... So should you"
I nod
I see her eyes close
For a good 30 minutes all I hear is the beep of the heart monitor
And her soft snoring
I then look out the window into the sun soaked streets of the city
I start feeling tired
As im falling asleep
I accidentally grab her arm
I fall into the bliss of sleep

I open my eyes and see the Jacquelyn isn't here
'She probably left'
As I finish that thought she comes in holding a tray of food
Jacquelynne: "hi um..... "
Y\N: "Y/N L/N"
She nods
Jacquelyn: "well I brought you some food"
She sets the tray down at the little table next to me
She then proceeds to spoon feed me some jell-o
Y\N: "uhm.... I can feed my self"
Jacquelynne: "nope I can feed you..... It's the least I can do"
I notice her long tail is swishing happily back and forth
Y\N: "ok"
She continues to feed me the jello and pudding

After I finish my food we start to talk
Jacquelynne: "so..... Do you have any family"
I look out the window
Y\N: "no they're outta town"
I hear a small 'oh' from her
We stay quiet for a good minute
Jacquelynne: "do you by any chance go to Ruker Heights?"
Y\N: "Yeah i do, but i tend to keep my head down"
Jacquelyn: "I can imagine its difficult sometimes huh?"
I look into her eyes
Y\N: "why are you nice to me? You could have easily left me there and no one would've bat an eye "
Jacquelynne: "b-because......... 'i like you' "
Y\N: "hmm? "
Jacquelynne: "because I just didn't someone to die and knowing that i didn't do anything to help "
For once I feel......... Warm inside
I'm embraced by her
She strokes my hair
This feeling is new
Comfort?
Happiness?
Calm...
Yeah calm
I hug her back

Hey guys so im going to be rewriting certain aspects of this story because i dont like how just...cringe it was, as well as the fact that some comments did point it out and i agreed. So im going to rewrite everything and make Y/N not a stereotypical shy boi uwu, so hope you guys like the new direction this story heads in.
