As Fang Mu sized his friend that had a frown on his face up and down he couldn't help but wonder why that is. "Did he not want the fact that he believed so strongly in his empress elect's ability to be found out" This made a mischievous smile form on Fang Mu's lips, a plan was beginning to form in his mind, one that he will only be able to put into effect when the empress elects return.

In general Lei's manor, seated under a beautiful cherry blossom tree was the whole family of three with tiny teacups on situated on the wooden table before them, they couldn't believe what they were watching on the look view screen, each look view screen was different in terms of quality and the one used by the general's manor was fairly high class and clearer than the general one provided all around Tang Qin Shang for the masses who couldn't afford their own.
This look view screen provided for the masses was one in which they could only view the present fight between the young mistress of General Lei's manor and Wang Xiu, but the look view artifact used by General Lei's manor as well as the emperor was one where they could record the fight, fast forward and rewind and this was what the General kept doing because he just couldn't understand how this happens.
"That person can't be that beast child, it's an imposter" Madam Lei glared at the zoomed picture of Jiang.
"Of course, it's an imposter, that beast child was nothing but a good for nothing trash so how could he suddenly have such strength" eldest son of the general's manor Lei Chow looked disdainfully at the person in the screen.
"But that person has the ice jewel I gave that beast child, also if he was an imposter there is no way that the emperor wouldn't have found out" General Lei looked on with furrowed brows "But those eyes doesn't belong to that child"
Lei Chow scorned at this statement "You give that emperor too much credit, he would have been onto us like a ferocious mystic dragon if he discovered this imposter, also I think this imposter must have come across that beast child at some point, befriended him and knew his story then killed him, took his possessions and headed for the imperial palace to take up the position as empress elect"
"That seems plausible, who in Tang Qin Shang wouldn't want to become the empress elect except that idiot daughter of mine" Madam Lei angrily said
"You are forgetting that we allowed her to elope with that man not because we loved him so much but because her been with him was better than her entering the imperial palace" General Lei stared at his wife briefly like she was talking nonsense.
"I don't know if the decision we made then was the right decision anymore, look at how well that imposter seen to be faring at the palace, it might have been better to let our daughter seduce the emperor and then get him to protect her throughout the competition, in the face of a beauty like our daughter I believe any man will fall on bended knees" Madam Lei confidently stated while Lei Chow nodded in agreement but it was at this moment that a loud ruckus was heard from a distance.
"Who dares to cause a disturbance at the Lei's Manor" Lei Chow abruptly stood up from the chair he was seating on and due to his sudden movement, the chair stumbled on the floor.
A young girl with huge surplus burst was running towards the trio, she looked very aggrieved as if the whole world was going against a pitiful person like her.
After a closer look, Lei Chow frown disappeared because he could identify the girl running toward them.
General Lei, his wife, and son were surprised to see the sorry figure of this young girl that they could barely recognize, she was the last person they expected to receive into their manor today because she was supposed to be in hiding.
"Father" young mistress Lei Yue the true legitimate daughter of the General's manor called out as she fell at her father's feet.
"What happened to you, why are you back here?" Madam Lei called out in distress as she went over to pat her precious daughter's back slightly.
"Where is Tao Shi" Lei Chow looked around hoping to see the young man that eloped with his sister some while ago appear any moment now but no matter how long they waited no one else followed after his sister.
"He isn't coming" Lei Yue deadpanned said, she was not pleased with her family's reaction, her brows were furrowed in a frown, she didn't want him here, she didn't want that wretch here at all.
General Lei on noticing his daughter's sour mood seemed to have been affected by it "Did he wrong you" as these words flowed out of his mouth the teacup that he originally held on his hands was now crushed into fine power while the hot tea spilled all over his hands.
"He did indeed wrong me father by been unable to properly care for my needs, I can't leave that kind of wretched life father" Lei Yue began to shed bitter crocodile tears "He promised to take care of me and to never fail me but he did fail this young mistress uncountable times, if not for the fact that I once had feelings for him, I would have asked father to take his miserable life" the ruthlessness in her words towards someone she once claimed to turn heaven and earth for made even her mother feel uncomfortable.
On hearing such words, one can't help but wonder the dreadful things Tao Shi, Lei Yue lover must have done to garner such hatred from his once beloved.
People might even think he was unfaithful to her or probability abused her but that wasn't the case, from the beginning Tao Shi was a very handsome man with fair skin and thick eyelashes, he was someone from a middle-class family made of scholars and he derived his means of livelihood from teaching cultivators in Tang Immortals Academy.
It was in this academy that Lei Yue met her teacher Tao Shi and chased after him, He didn't really want to be with her but due to the threat of the general's manor and for the safety of his family he agreed to her advances.
Tao Shi was an honorable man and wouldn't go back on his word to be with the woman who had sworn her undying love to him for all eternity and as a result when Lei Yue came to convinced him to elope together he didn't hesitate in the slightest despite knowing the dangers this might cause him and his family in the long run. He did it anyway because he truly believed that she was now a part of his family that also needed his protection.
But he never would have expected that after their elopement and they had to reside in a remote village in other to hide from the world as was the plan discussed with her family but to his surprise Yue Lei was not happy about this development at all "Tao Shi, you don't expect this young mistress to stay in such a place right, Tao Shi, I had you didn't bring this young mistress all the way out here just to suffer hardship" and that was just the beginning of Tao Shi's headache, he requested for expensive pieces of jewelry, artifacts, pills and extravagantly cultivation techniques which she clearly didn't need to the point that all the spirit mana stones he saved all his life were spent up in a short period of time.
Tao Shi had to find a menial job as a shopkeeper in one of the small shops in the village in other to make ends meet while the almighty young mistress just stayed at home doing nothing, they didn't have a maid like in the general's manor and as a result after a long day of work Tao Shi will come back to a very unhomely hut, it was unclean and Lei Yue didn't fail even once to have a list of things she needed to purchase, he did everything for the both of them yet to the spoilt young mistress Lei Yue it was not enough and she had been wronged.
When she watched the fight between Wang Xiu and Jiang who was bearing her name and dressing flamboyantly in her own dress while what she was putting on now was an eyesore since she couldn't take her clothes when she left home and could only buy cheap outfits afterwards she couldn't help but feel hatred and disdain for the person enjoying her life but all those emotions was nothing compared to the jealousy she felt as a result of all what she heard concerning the empress elect position.
When she had chosen to elope she believed it was the right choice because apart from claiming to love Tao Shi she also didn't believe that she could protect that title and will end up losing her little life in the process, that was her biggest fear, she had heard that the people that compete in that competition are extremely fearsome, also the fact that the emperor might be trying to use this to get to her family further scared the young mistress shitless as a result she chose to elope but after constantly hearing about how grand it was to be the empress elect and then seeing her trash illegitimate brother win his first battle she couldn't help but see red eye, she believed she was fooled into believing it was hard to hold onto the empress elect title and then ultimately become empress elect.
If Jiang could protect the title thus far then so could she.
She had no one to blame for eloping and rejecting such a prestigious position but Tao Shi who agreed to elope with her and because of this they had a huge fight before she opted to return back to her parents.
"Lei Yue I always told you that man wasn't suited for you, you could have chosen any of the prestigious family's son's in Tang Qin Shang to elope with but you just had to choose that no name Tao Shi" Madam Lei scolded.
"I should have listened to mother" Lei Yue appeared so pitiful and earned a consoling pat on the back from her mother, she stood up from her father's embrace and then faced her family with a never seen before determined expression.
"Father, I want to take back my position as empress elect, I want it back" Lei Yue demanded, she wasn't asking to take it back, she demanded it because to her, it was rightfully hers after all her name was the one written in the imperial edict.
