                                          Pierce's POV

I grabbed my stuff and started to leave the school.

“Hey Pierce!” Amy shouted, running towards me.

“I’m walking home with you.” Amy smiled.

“You mean to the bus stop?” I pondered.

“Yeah, come on.” Amy stated. We were about a mile away from the school before we knew it. “Wow, we got here fast!” Amy said. I nodded and the bus stop was in view. Then the next thing I knew I heard yelling from behind me. I saw Twain, Swarch, and Makage, looking terrified.

“Get him!” Twain yelled. My eyes widened and Amy jumped out of the way while I was tackled to the ground.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” I shouted.

“We don’t want another American in this school! Besides, if you want to stay, we are going to tear you apart!” Twain yelled and pulled his arm back. I winced as I felt his hand collide with my face, then the next thing I knew I had stopped his other hand from hitting me, and I was furious. I grunted angrily and punched him across the face, making him land with a thump.

                                            Amy’s POV

I covered my mouth. I didn’t know what to do! I saw Twain get up and wipe the blood from his nose. Twain yelled and tackled Pierce the the ground. Pierce groaned and Twain sat on top of him, punching him in the face.

“Pierce!” I screamed and instantly ran to them. I tried getting Twain off of him and Twain swung his arm and knocked me off of my feet. I gasped for breath. I got the wind knocked out of me. I heard the rubble shift and I looked to see Pierce getting up and throwing Twain at Swarch.

“Don’t you EVER lay your filthy hands on a girl…” Pierce narrowed his eyes. “Now, get out of here!”

“Don’t think this is the end! We’ll be back!” Swarch shouted and ran off with Twain. I moaned as I sat up.

“Amy!” Pierce ran to me and helped me up.

“I’m fine, I just… Where’s Makage?” I looked around to see he was nowhere to be found.

“He probably got spooked and ran home.” Pierce replied. We started walking. I felt a sharp pain in my left leg and I looked to see blood streaks. “I think we should get you to a hospital.”

“It’s nothing… I’ll just patch it up when I get home.”

“What will your mom say?”

“I’ll just tell her that I was racing you home and I tripped… hard.”

“Well, look at the bright side, at least you won’t have to run in gym tomorrow.”

“I guess you’re right.” I smiled and we walked home. As soon as we got on my porch, I weakly pulled on the screen door. I almost tripped on my leg.

“Woah!” Pierce panicked and pulled me close to him. I blushed.

“I can get in on my own… thanks for walking me here.”

“It’s the least I can do.” He smiled and I walked inside. I waved to him as I slowly closed the door. I sighed in happiness and I spun on the foot that wasn’t injured. This was love. It had to be. Then, I thought for a second. Makage! Was he okay? I had to look for him. I turned and accidentally landed on my foot. I fell and screeched in pain. My mom ran out.

“Amy! Are you okay?!” She helped me up.

“Yeah, I just need an icepack.” I replied, quietly.

“What happened to you? Your leg is bleeding!” She sat me gently on the couch.

“I just tripped. I’ll be fine.” I reassured her. I watched her close the fridge with an icepack.

“Okay…” She handed me the icepack and my mom went into the bathroom and came out with a box of bandage wraps and hydrogen peroxide. She poured some of the peroxide on a napkin. Then she placed the napkin on the scar.

“Ouch!” I squinted my eyes in pain.

“Sorry!” My mom pulled back and gently continued. After a minute, she was done. She pulled out a bandage wrap out of the box and gently started wrapping my leg.

“I hope it’s not broken.” I mumbled.

“It’s not broken, dear. You can feel it, can’t you?” She asked.

“Yeah…” I replied. She was done wrapping my leg.

“Now hold an ice pack over it and it should be fine.” My mom told me.

“Thanks.” I smiled and mom nodded. I moved my foot on a pillow that was over the coffee table. I reached towards the remote and grabbed it. I turned on the TV.

                                            Pierce’s POV

I walked into my home, my nose was hurting from where I was punched. I shrugged it off and went into the kitchen, where mom and dad were.

“Hey son! Welcome-” Dad started. He stared at me and rose a questioning eye. “What happened to your nose!?” Dad said concerned.

“Nothing…” I mumbled.

“Tell me!” Dad yelled.

“I SAID NOTHING!” I shouted and ran up to my room, slamming and locking the door behind me. I walked over to my mirror and looked in, my nose was bleeding.

“That’s just great.” I moaned and rolled my eyes. I grabbed a rag that I had over my drawer, and wiped the blood away from my nose. I put it in my clothes basket and walked over to my bed. I fell onto it and covered myself up, it was probably only 5:00 PM, but I can’t keep my eyes open any longer. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

                                            Time Skip

I woke up from the sound of pounding on the door.

“Wake up!” Mom screamed. I growled and got up from my bed and unlocked the door. I slowly walked downstairs and went into the kitchen, where I saw fruit sitting in a bowl. I walked over and started eating an apple.

“Good morning.” Dad said. I turned towards him and didn’t say anything. I saw him get a worried look and he sat down next to me. “Listen, I know I haven’t been around when I should’ve.” Dad sighed. I looked down.

“Yeah, so what? You should’ve been able to miss half of my life. After all, your work matters most.” I growled.

“No, that’s not it. I will tell you when you get back home. Now get changed.” Dad told me, softly. I watched him get up and leave. I sighed and got to my feet and went to my room. I slipped my clothes on, then left out the door. I walked past Amy’s house.

“Hey Pierce!” Amy yelled, running towards me. I smiled.

“Hey! How’s your leg?” I asked.

“Better… but, I think we should ask Makage about what happened yesterday.” Amy replied and I nodded. We made it to the end of the sidewalk and the bus came along. “Come on.” Amy told me. I followed her into the bus and to our shock, Makage wasn’t in his place, neither were the two that beat me up.

“What? He always sits there!” Amy pointed, shocked. I nodded and narrowed my eyes. “Come on, lets just sit down.” I said, and walked over to the back of the bus. I looked out the window and the bus started. As the bus was going, I saw Makage who was walking to school.

“Makage is walking to school?” I asked Amy.

“That's strange. He never does that.” Amy told me. I turned from the windows and looked at my feet. After 5 more minutes, we made it to school and I made my way to my first class.

                                           Time skip

I got out of class and walked down the hallway to my second class, just to bump into Makage.

“Oh-” Makage yelped and jumped far away from me.

“Makage! What was that about yesterday?!” I yelled.

“I- I can’t say anything. I’m just going to apologize in advance.” Makage rubbed his neck. I was confused, then he ran off. I shrugged and walked over to the gym. I stretched and went into the changing rooms. I slipped on my gym clothes and walked over to Amy.

“I just ran into Makage…” I sighed.

“I know, I did, too. He told me that he wasn’t coming to gym and he said to stay away from you or I could be hurt. I don’t get it.” Amy mumbled.

“He said what?! That’s stupid!” I yelled.

“Yeah, that’s what I said. Then, he just ran out of the school.” Amy said. I rubbed my head. “Well, we are just going to have to confront him after school, then.” I said.

“Yeah, we need to know why.” Amy crossed her arms. I turned to the gym teacher who pointed towards the track. I groaned and went to run.

                                          Time Skip

I grabbed my bag and walked out of the school.

“Okay, ready to find Makage?” Amy asked, coming up from behind me.

“Yeah…” I answered. We walked towards the bus stop, just to see Makage who noticed us.

“We have to ask you some questions!” Amy yelled. Makage got a scared look while he was looking at me and ran.

“Follow him!” I shouted. Amy and I ran after him until we confronted him in an alley.

“You’ve made a mistake! Get out of here!” Makage screamed.

“What do you-” I started.

“Pierce! Watch out!” Amy screamed. I turned the other direction and a crowbar hit me across the head. I looked up and clutched my bleeding head and saw Makage who stood still in place. The two bullies were there.

                                            Amy’s POV

Oh no… Swarch and Twain were back! This could only be worse than before!

“What is your problem?!” Pierce shouted as he stood up.

“Makage, get him!” Swarch yelled and Makage stood there with a startled, blank face.

“M- Makage? You’re with them?!” I screamed and Makage suddenly looked over at me.

“No! I’m-” Makage started.

“Stop lying to them! You are with us!” Twain shouted.

“Traitor!” Pierce quickly got up and slammed Makage to the ground. Makage started squirming from his grip. I covered my ears and closed my eyes. I had no idea what was going on. I opened my eyes to see Swarch and Twain tossing Pierce. He landed on his head, once again.

“Pierce!” I screamed and pushed Twain. “Stop it! You’re hurting him!” I stomped.

“Look who’s trying to act tough now? Little miss perfect.” Twain chuckled.

“Don’t call me that!” I shoved a finger in their faces.

“What are you going to do?” Swarch took a step towards me.

“This!” Pierce came in and fiercely and tackled them both like dominos. I looked over at Makage with tears in my eyes.

“How could you..?” I mumbled.

“I’m sorry, Amy, just please let me explain!” Makage stood up and I shook my head while taking a few steps back with tears rushing down my face. Makage’s look saddened and he took off into the trees. I turned back to see Swarch punching Pierce. I quickly wiped my tears and rushed at him, even though I was limping. I tackled Swarch and we rolled in the grass. He fell on top of me and raised his fist.

“Get away from her!” Pierce yelled and pushed Swarch off. Blood was still trickling down Pierce’s head. But, he wouldn’t give up the fight. I sat up and behind Pierce stood Twain, raising a large pocket knife.

“Pierce, look out!” I shouted and Pierce turned just in time. He grasped Twain’s arm and took the knife. Pierce stabbed him and kept the knife there for a good five seconds. Twain kept gasping as if he couldn’t breath. He coughed out blood and he landed on the ground. I shook in fear. He killed him. Swarch stood up.

“You psycho!” Swarch shouted coming at him with the crowbar. Pierce grasped the crowbar with such strength.

“Maybe I am.” Pierce smirked and pulled the crowbar swiftly from his hands as he kicked him far. Pierce stood over him with his hair in his eyes. He jabbed the crowbar on Swarch’s chest. Then he kept repeating. I heard the snapping in his ribcage. When he was done, Swarch’s lifeless eyes looked blankly upwards. Pierce actually killed them.

“P- Pierce?” I slowly tapped on his shoulder and he turned with his fist raised high in the air. Then, he stopped when he realized it was me. “What’s gotten into you?” I sobbed. Pierce looked down at his hands.

“What’ve I done..? I’m going to jail!” Pierce collapsed on the ground.

“Pierce! Get up!” I cried, helping him up. “Y- You're gonna be fine, okay?”

“You shouldn’t think that! I’m a murderer!”

“We should just get you home.” I sighed and we started walking and Pierce fell, suddenly. Then I remembered. His head was bleeding! “Oh no…” I gasped and ran off to find the nearest house to call for help. “Somebody! Please help!” I screamed at the top of my lungs and in the distance, I saw a small trailer. I went up on the small porch and pounded on the door. A lady with curly brown hair opened the door.

“Can I help you?” She asked.

“I need your help! My friend passed out and I don’t know what to do!” I screamed. Her eyes widened.

“Get in here… I’ll get you borrow the house phone.” She moved out of the way.

“Thank you! Thank you so much!” I ran in and found the phone. I dialed 911.I explained that Pierce passed out unexpectedly and they said the ambulances would be here soon. I hung up and ran outside, once again. “Thanks for letting me use your phone!” I shouted as I ran. I soon made it to where Pierce was and I saw an ambulance with flashing lights come. I waved my arms. “Over here!” I yelled and a few people hopped out of the vehicle and rushed towards me. They picked him up and brought him to the back of the ambulance. “Can I get in?” I asked as they were about to shut the doors.

“Well, I don’t know…” The guy said.

“Please!” I screamed.

“Okay, hop in.” He moved out of the way and I climbed in. I sat on the seat and I felt the ambulance move. I saw Pierce’s chest moving up and down. I sighed in relief. He was still alive.
