You were at another meeting, watching Ralph talk for long disturbing minutes.
"We've got to make another fire."
"Ok." Said Jack. "You're right. I'll go."
"Someone needs to help you. Simon, you go."
"No it's fine." Continued Jack, looking at you with loving eyes. "Y/N will come."
You slowly blushed, wondering why.
"Piggy's already there. Take his specs. Alright then. Go, now!"
You and Jack walked up the mountain.
"Should we hurry?" You asked.
"No. Take your time. I don't want you to get hurt."
"I'll be fine, really. Let's not make Piggy wait."
"Don't worry about Piggy. Are you really sure?"
"Yes of course!"
You both ran up the hill, laughing, not having the specific reason why.
Of course, as Jack had predicted,you slipped on a leave, and your knee hit a rock.
"Ow!" You whined.
"Are you ok?!"
He moved quickly towards you.
"I told you to be careful!"
"I know, I'm sorry!"
He looked at you, worried.
"Sit down! Rest!"
"No! I'll help you! All I needed was to walk up a mountain with Jack Merridew and I didn't even manage it! I'm sorry!"
"Is that supposed to mean something?"
"What?"
"Nothing. Just, sit down. I'll stay with you."
"But what about Piggy? We have to make the fire."
"Don't worry about Piggy."
Jack sat besides you, and watched your bleeding knee.
You sighed. "Jack, I'm sorry."
"What for?"
"I didn't mean to—"
"Don't worry, I said."
He smiled, but you looked down, mad at yourself. He noticed it, and held your chin up, so your eyes met.
"It's really fine as long as you aren't hurt too badly."
"Yes but still. I—"
But he just kissed you.
"There you are!" Said Piggy, arriving from behind.
