The next morning I awoke early and ready for the day. I removed the covers and stood up stretching. Walking over to the closet I got a pair of jeans and a shirt quickly putting them on and then headed down stairs to eat some breakfast to keep me going for the day. You know what they say, breakfast is the most important part of the day.
"Pancake and eggs!" I practically drool at the amazing food in front of me.
"Yep, I thought I'd make you guys your favorite breakfast, for your first day. " My mother said handing me a plate full of undoubtedly delicious food.
I ate quickly, then got my bag, and ran out the door patiently waiting for my Dad to drive us. And when we pulled up out side in the parking lot, my mouth dropped in awe. It was amazing! It had to be at least twice as big as my old school. But there was two different packs that went here, our pack and then the neighboring pack. And since we were both allies we shared the school.
"Have a good day. I'll be here to pick you up after school." My father says driving off after we said good bye. We all walked towards the office. As we passed people in the halls they started to stare, I was about ready to punch a few of them. Didn't their parents teach them it's not nice to stare.
After what felt like an eternity we got our schedule and split up going to our different classes. My first block was Math, ugh. I eternally groaned at the thought. What a great way to start out the day, I thought sarcastically. Finally after hours of pure stupidness my first day was over. Hallelujah!
Sadly I had made no friends today. And as much as I hated to admit I was a tad happy about it. I was interrupted in my thoughts by my brother calling my name.
"Hey! Aroura, come over here." Derek yells to me. I turn to look over at Derek who at the moment was with a group of wreak less teenagers. They had black leather coats and were surrounded with an aura that screamed trouble.
"So this is the famous Aroura." The I guess 'cool kids' said while crossing their arms in a what appeared to be an intimidating pose.
"Yep she's the one I've been talking about all day." Derek said putting his arm around me in an awkward position.
"Uh... Dads here." I broke the awkward silence that had settled upon us.
"Well, I'll see you later, Derek." The two guys exchange doing a weird bro hug thing.
"See you later." Derek replied with a slight gesture of his head. Once we were out of hearing immediately questions went flying.
"You didn't tell them anything, right?" I ask Derek a little unnerved at the thought of him revealing my most sacred secret.
" No. I promised not to tell anyone until needed." He answered looking slightly perplexed at the thought of me thinking he would do such a thing.
"Okay good, It sounded like you did for a second." I say finally relieved for once in my life.
"No I was just talking about you to get them to like you." He said shrugging like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
We opened the car door to my father smiling brightly at us brightening our gloomy day. When we came to my house we saw much to our curiosity three unknown cars. The one was probably the Alpha's and then the other one was most likely his father and then the Beta's.
"The Alpha's here already." My Dad stated as if we couldn't see.
"Dad, do you think it would be wise to show him my wolf?" I question my father while we were walking down the small path that lead to the door.
"Honestly, I think we should. He is our Alpha after all. But it's up to you." My father suggested.
"Ok, so tonight?" I ask nervousness evident in my voice as it cracked at the thought of something going wrong.
"Yes, I think that would be best." He says unlocking the door and pushing it open to reveal the nice warm feeling of safety.
"Okay." I say convincing myself it will all work out one way or another. We walked into the house and sat our back packs next to the closet for tomorrow. Hanging up our coats we hear laughter in the kitchen.
"Hey Zeus, Jeff. Long time, no see." My Dad says patting him on the back when they both went in for a friendly hug.
"Yes, I agree it has been a long time. Are these your kids?" Jeff says looking at us. His smile, was kind but he still have me a weird vibe. Zeus his son glanced at me and smiled.
The man, Zeus, or I should say Alpha Zeus, was nothing as I expected. I had pictured him as an old grumpy man that had a pot belly and had a ancient comb over. But now when I saw what he looked like I immediately changed my way of thought. He looked to be around the age of 21. He had jet black hair, and had deep brown eyes. Most girls would be fan girling over him right now but for some reason I wasn't.
"Yes. This is Derek and his twin Michael, and this is my only daughter, Aroura." Dad said smiling proudly at his children.
"Now your making me feel bad. I haven't found my Mate." Zeus said sadly laughing. I could see the sadness in his eyes and felt bad, nobody deserves to not have a mate.
"You'll find her soon. I promise." My Dad comforts knowingly.
" Easy for you to say you found your mate in high school. "
" Dinners ready! " Mom yelled from the oven, making us snap our heads her way instantly. We were just a tad hungry.
We all walk in to the dining room were the plates were all ready there and the delicious food already on the plates. My Dad walks up to my mum and gives her a kiss on the cheek then whispers something In her ear obviously about my suggestion to show my wolf.
" Well what are you waiting for dig in. " My mother smiles to cover up her nervousness.
" This food is great Angelina! " Zeus says moaning at the taste of the great food. Honestly I would have to agree with him on that one, this was one amazing dish.
" Why thank you Alpha Zeus. " Mom says going a deep pink at his comment.
" So after dinner Aroura would like to show us all something. " My Dad suggested. " Would it be okay if she showed you? "
" Yes, why not. " Zeus says shooting in my direction, a food filled grin. And despite how disgusting it was I couldn't help but smile.
Throughout all of dinner I was nervously shaking, sometimes dropping my fork and knife not being able to pick up things with with my utensils. I think they noticed because they kept glancing over at me with concern writen in their eyes. As soon as we were all filled to the top and stuffed full of food. We all stood up and they waited for me to show them.
" Well if you could follow me please. " I say as nice as I could. We walked outside to the backyard and Dad mose graciously started explaining.
" Well when Aroura first shifted over a year ago, " Dad started making all my thoughts clear out at his fatherly voice. " she was walking home from a friend's when she took the short cut that went through the woods. She did not return until the next evening. We have never seen her wolf neither has anyone else. Well last night she decided to show us and this is why she waited so long. "
I slowly take my clothes off until I was in my bra and underwear. I took a deep breath and shifted. The familiar feeling of when I shifted coming back. My wolf was howling with excitement. She had never been let out two days in a row.
" But, But how? " Brody, who I learned was the Beta, said stuttering with shock.
" We don't know the only thing we could think of was the Alpha blood in our family. " Dad says as I shift back into a human and put my clothes back on.
" But no, it wouldn't be that or else it would have been written down in history somewhere. But I think we should keep this a secret. " My father said.
" Yes John, I think you are right we should keep this a secret there might be rogues who are looking for someone like this. " Zeus says to my Dad. Giving quick worried glances over in my direction.
" The only people who know about this is here right? " Zeus asks my father.
" Yes. " Dad replies.
" Okay let me make this clear nobody here is allowed to tell anyone about this. Is that clear? " Zeus says with just a bit of his Alpha voice making it as long as we were in his pack unable to tell anyone about this.
" Yes, Alpha. " We all say in unison.
" Now everyone let's get to bed. We all have a big day tomorrow, I have to travel for a meeting with a pack somewhere by Butte. " Zeus said rubbing his eyes exhaustion getting the better of him.
" Well, we'll be going now. " Jeff, Zeus' father said. We followed them to the front door, bidding them good-byes and watching as they get into their cars and drive down the road.
" Okay kids, time for bed. We have school tomorrow. " Mother says to us shooing us upstairs.
" But it's only eight! " My brothers complained throwing their hand in the air dramatically.
" It's called a bedtime, ever heard of it? " I say sarcastically while making my way up to my bedroom. It was a nice and comfortable room to me that had a beautiful turquoise walls with a tree painted on the wall behind my bed. I absolutely was in love with this room room and mentally thanked the person who lived here before.
I showered and then put out new clothes to wear tomorrow for school. Then tierdly got in bed and was immediately engulfed in a peaceful sleep. But if only I knew tomorrow wasn't going to be as peaceful.
