Alexis's pov
I stepped in and closed my eyes trying to process the intense smell of coffee
I walked to the counter I leaned on it seeing the man of the hour was mixing something he poured it into a white foam cup with a sharpie design he made himself ,he draws on every cup that's kinda his thing, and capped it turning around
"Decaf caramel coffee!" He announced and a woman stood up walked over he saw me in the meantime and as soon as the cup left his hand he grabbed my shoulder "there's my girl" he kissed my head I shook out my hair and laughed
"I just got off work you got time to hang?"
He smirked "I'd never know you just got off work all you do is wear black"
I laughed "you aren't any better black pants black converse" I motioned to his outfit
"Okay okay I should know better than to be a smart ass to you of all people" he nodded "I'll hang" he hopped over the counter and we walked to our favorite booth the one we all signed our names on I pulled up my feet to my chest leaned back on the wall
"This place is just so amazing Ash really I mean I'm so proud of you I still remember the day it opened" he nodded and sighed
"Bunch of hipsters showed up and we had that dude with the guitar who just took over my stage" he laughed "still no idea who he was or why he brought a guitar"
I laughed "that girl get her dread stuck to her boyfriends dermal piercing"
"Yeah that was like their 3rd date too" he shook his head and rubbed his face "what about you? What's up loca?" I sighed
"I-I might be getting a new place soon"
He gasped "fuck yeah where?"
"I dunno yet"
"Well know what? anywhere is better than the shit hole you live in" he encouraged
I smiled "thanks...and I-I..." should I tell him about Harry I tell Ash everything since my old best friend ,of 9 years dumped me, he's totally been there and just filled in her role completely
"Yeah?" He smiled
"I'm seeing this guy" I wouldn't use specifics
"A guy? Mm let me guess he's... tall, uh green eyes, and older than 25" I laughed and sat right so we faced each other
"Spot on bud he's 36 though"
He went wide eyed "God Alexis you and your older men! he's older than your father you always wanna chase guys that were outta college before you were even born"
I groaned "stop exaggerating my father was 17 when he had me they are the same age but my dad would be older had be not been a teen I know math Asher but I dunno he just seems sweet"
"Wasn't your last guy 29?"
"Stop with the age thing" I put my hand up "listen Ash I'm being serious" I frowned deeply sometimes it really is hard to get him out of play mode
"Okay okay" he sighed and shook his head "sweet isn't a lot Alexis"
"I know but..." I shifted around "I feel like he really likes me like he looks at me and doesn't just tolerate me like he really enjoys being around me"
He smiled weakly "you're saying this like it's rare babe you know I love you Grey and Venus love you Michelle wants to share your bed with you I mean you act like you have to live with a paper bag over your head"
"It's just really hard to be so confident all the time ya know and I'm not saying I'm faking who I am I am funny I am bold I am confident but it's really nice to just let go and have someone there saying I look nice when I'm not trying or telling me I sound sexy when I literally just rambled about nothing" I crossed my arms
He got up and came on to my side with me he wrapped his arms around me "he really makes you feel like that?"
I nodded "I just feel... myself around him"
He nodded and shrugged "then what more could you want?"
Him to be my boyfriend I just smiled and nodded "yeah thanks Asher you really are the best" he sighed rolling his eyes
"I know I know I know" I laughed and shoved him a little he just laughed back
"I can probably pick a better guy than you but whatever" he teased
Recently Asher has been feeling like he could be bi and I support him completely I don't think he's come through with his final decision yet on how he feels though he says sometimes he just sees a certain kinda guy and he likes them
I think he'll stay straight but I'm not him I don't decide and I'm not pushing one way or another this is for him to figure out not me
"So hey Nick is taking everyone out clubbing he really wants you to come" he added
I shook my head "ya know I don't drink Ash I don't think I'll go"
He shook his head "Alexis he's been really pissed every time he does this and you don't come like he just fights with everyone he really wants you to come... I dunno if he thinks you're just a stick on the mud or..." he shrugged I laughed
"I am not a stick in the mud" I rolled my eyes "if he's mad he probably thinks we don't hang enough yeah I think I'll come this once just to prove I'm not like ditching him or anything when?"
"Uh" He pulled out his phone "Friday night"
I frowned Harry and I had a date Friday "oh I don't think I can"
He frowned back "you just said you would d*ck before d*ck Alexis our d*ck over your new man ya know?" I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone I looked at my messages Harry's at the top of my screen and Nick's toward the bottom I bit my lip
"Yeah you're right plus I'm mean it's just one night" I clicked Harry's name
Me:hey Harry I'm sorry I'm gunna have to cancel our date Friday I have to babysit I forgot I already promise them my Friday rain check?
I bit my lip I felt bad like really bad I dunno why Harry isn't my boyfriend nor does he want to be but we left off on a really great note after the hotel we talked over breakfast and found out we really do like a lot of the same stuff he was genuinely sweet
Sugar Harry:Its okay I understand you could never turn down some kids maybe we can reschedule? Saturday perhaps?
Me:perfect Saturday
Sugar Harry:great I'll be waiting
I looked at Ash "good to go for Friday"
He smiled "Alright now maybe Nick won't act like a little bitch"
