Scooting over closer to Kogitsunemaru, Saniwa started playing with his chalk white hair, which felt like silk between her fingers. The girl got intrigued by the beauty of the sword's hair as she twirled the strands around her finger.
"Kogi's hair is so silky and smooth," she complimented. "Hey, let me brush it, will you?"
A hearty chuckle escaped Kogitsunemaru's lips,"Well, if Master insists."
"Where's the comb I gave you?" Saniwa leaned over Kogitsunemaru's shoulder and tried to search for the golden coloured comb which she gave him as a gift when he first arrived at the citadel.
"It's here." Retrieving the item from his pocket, Kogitsunemaru handed it over to Saniwa promptly.
Giddy with excitement, Saniwa began combing the enchanting white strands of hair on Kogitsunemaru's head. Starting from the bottom, she combed out each and every strand gingerly as she giggled towards herself in glee every now and then.
Kogitsunemaru's hair was smooth and untangled to begin with but Saniwa still enjoyed combing it anyway. Oddly enough, doing such a simple activity was calming to her and kept her mind off the mountain of paperwork she had to complete as Saniwa.
Usually, Kogitsunemaru would stay put as he obediently waited for Saniwa to be done combing his hair. Depending on her mood, Saniwa could take up to an hour to comb out every single strand of hair on his head, smoothing his hair out till she was satisfied. He did not mention it but the wait made him extremely restless most of the time.
Saniwa hummed blissfully as she went on to the left side of Kogitsunemaru's head to brush the strands on that side out. She lifted her eyes off his hair and onto the sword's expression for a brief second, noticing that he looked terribly bored.
"Kogi, let's play a game," she spoke as she continued combing his hair. "To get rid of your boredom."
"What sort of game?" Kogitsunemaru glanced sideways to get a glimpse of his master.
"Would you rather," Saniwa explained. "I will ask you a question which starts with that phrase and you pick one of the two options."
Smiling, Kogitsunemaru agreed to the game. Playing it was much more enjoyable than staring ahead at the walls of Saniwa's office while she did magic to his hair.
"Okay, so would you rather make Mikazuki or me angry?"
"Mikazuki Munechika of course," Kogitsunemaru answered without hesistation. "I could never dare to do anything to make Master angry."
"Even if it means he will slit your throat apart?" Saniwa asked, baffled by his response.
"He's a good comrade," Kogitsunemaru chuckled. "I trust that he wouldn't do that to his comrades."
"Good answer," Saniwa hummed in satisfaction. "Then, would you rather be the prime victim of Tsurumaru's pranks everyday or be Yagen's test subject for new drugs?"
Kogitsunemaru contemplated on the question for a while before answering. "Yagen Toushirou, I trust him. Tsurumaru Kuninaga's pranks are a pain to deal with sometimes."
"That's true," Saniwa stifled a laugh. "Next, would you rather take Yamanbagiri's cloak away from him or prevent Jiroutachi from drinking any sake at all costs?"
"Jiroutachi should stop drinking. He's too loud so I'll take the sake away from him. Besides I'd feel bad to take Yamanbagiri Kunihiro's precious cloak away from him." Kogitsunemaru replied wistfully.
"Would you rather bully Gokotai in front of Ichigo or Hotarumaru in front of Akashi?" Saniwa raised her next question as she began moving towards the next section of Kogitsunemaru's hair.
"Hotarumaru." Kogitsunemaru spoke rather quickly, catching Saniwa by surprise. She predicted that Kogitsunemaru would have a hard time answering that question but he proved her wrong.
In puzzlement, she asked,"Why so? Akashi might slaughter you alive, he's really fast after all. It's not like Ichigo might hold back at all, in fact he might kill you as well but I'm just curious as to why you chose Hotarumaru."
"Hotarumaru would probably haul me away before Akashi Kuniyuki even arrives at the scene," Kogitsunemaru chortled. "That ootachi can protect himself."
"Good point. What else... Oh, would you rather remove Nakigitsune's mask or Shokudaikiri's eyepatch?" Saniwa ran her hands through Kogitsunemaru's locks before combing them.
"Shokudaikiri Mitsutada's right eye is a mystery so I will remove his eyepatch," Kogitsunemaru's answer was a quick one once again. "In addition to that, I have already seen Nakigitsune without a mask."
"What? That's unfair!" Saniwa whined. "I want to see him without it as well!"
"Maybe next time." Kogitsunemaru smiled at his master's immaturity.
Saniwa huffed,"Okay then, would you rather-"
"Master, shouldn't we switch the roles now? I would like to ask you questions too." Kogitsunemaru interrupted her before Saniwa could think of another question.
"Sure," Saniwa agreed to Kogitsunemaru's request coolly. "Ask away."
"Would you rather brush mine or Juzumaru Tsunetsugu's hair?" Kogitsunemaru queried as Saniwa proceeded on with playing with his hair.
"Yours. I have never touched Juzumaru's hair before, frankly speaking. Kogi's hair gives me comfort so I choose yours." Saniwa snuggled her cheek against Kogitsunemaru's hair as she spoke.
The sword smiled. He was genuinely happy that Saniwa chose him, it gave him a sense of accomplishment for some reason.
"Master, then would you rather be unable to touch my hair at all or have me to never arrive at this citadel at all?" Kogitsunemaru raised another question which placed Saniwa in a tight spot.
Saniwa mumbled in distress,"I love Kogi's hair but I can't stand not having you at all. I guess I will sacrifice my stress reliever." Patting his hair gently, Saniwa began sulking.
"I was just teasing you, don't take it to heart," Kogitsunemaru turned back and caressed Saniwa's cheek as he flashed her a loving smile. "Please cheer up."
"D-don't tease me..." Saniwa's face burned up under Kogitsunemaru's touch.
Grinning cheekily, Kogitsunemaru asked,"Master, would you rather dismantle me or kiss me?"
His red pupils glowed under the dim lighting in Saniwa's office. Saniwa found herself getting lost in Kogitsunemaru's gaze as she murmured her answer. Her cheeks were flaring up and her mind started to go haywire.
Cocking his head to the side, Kogitsunemaru spoke,"Excuse me?"
"I-I'll choose t-the l-latter..." Stuttering, Saniwa adverted her eyes away from Kogitsunemaru's.
"Which one's the latter?" Kogitsunemaru pressured Saniwa as he pressed on for an answer. The way his master's cheeks were tinted pink and how she became flustered was irresistably cute to him, he couldn't help but tease her.
"You already know!" Saniwa retorted. "Quit making fun of me!"
"I won't know unless you say it out loud." Kogitsunemaru's smirk widened as Saniwa's cheeks turned into a shade of rose red.
The female pouted. "The k-k-kiss..."
"Prove it to me then, Master." Kogitsunemaru smiled innocently as he observed the flustered movements Saniwa made. He was joking regarding what he said but he still wanted to make fun of the girl for a while more.
"What?" Saniwa exclaimed in disbelief. She lowered her head, unable to control the shock she was feeling.
She didn't hate Kogitsunemaru and in fact, she favoured him the most amongst all the swords she had. She viewed him rather specially, if she were to be honest. However, kissing him was too embarrassing for her.
Kogistunemaru continued teasing his master further,"Would you prefer dismantling me then?"
"No!" Saniwa was quick to reply.
Bracing herself, she got onto her knees and cupped the sword's face in her hands, placing her lips on top of his. This action caught Kogitsunemaru by surprise as well, since he did not expect his master to actually give in to his teasing.
"W-will this do?" Saniwa squeaked, looking away as she covered her tomato red face with her fringe.
She pursed her lips, appalled by how soft Kogitsunemaru's lips actually were. Although it was embarrassing, she did not regret what she had just done. Besides, she loved Kogitsunemaru dearly, both as a sword and a being.
Kogitsunemaru on the other hand was also frozen in place from earlier. He didn't move an inch as he stared ahead at Saniwa blankly. Eventually, only silence enveloped the atmosphere between them.
Blinking dumbfoundedly, Kogitsunemaru uttered,"I didn't expect you to actually do as I say."
Saniwa kept her silence. Then, she was too flustered and out of it to even respond to Kogitsunemaru. To think even a simple game could end up in such an awkward situation, she thought.
"But I didn't hate it." Kogitsunemaru continued.
With eyes widened, Saniwa turned her head back towards Kogitsunemaru. She found him with a huge smile plastered onto his face, his eyes reflecting the same teasing glint from earlier.
"M-me t-too..." Saniwa's voice trailed off as the scene from before replayed in her mind again, causing her to flush up again.
"I wouldn't mind doing it again, Master." Kogitsunemaru joked as he pointed to his lips.
"I-i-i-idiot!!" Groping onto a nearby cushion on the ground, Saniwa threw it at Kogitsunemaru's face with full force.
She then got another pillow and buried her face into it to hide the glowing red cheeks she had on her face that instant. Her heart was already thumping out of her chest and she felt that it was going to leap out of her mouth anytime soon.
As Saniwa, she hated herself for being so weak to Kogitsunemaru's teases. Breathing heavily into the cushion, the kiss she had with him replayed over and over in her mind again.
Maybe, just maybe, she might be able to feel those lips with hers again in the future, she thought to herself before squealing aloud, startling Kogitsunemaru.
a/n: kogi was the first touken danshi i knew tbh. i know i said i played the game for tsuru and it's true, but i knew kogi before i even knew tourabu lmao. i mean, he's hot so it's impossible not to notice him, am i right? (please say im right haha)
anyway i did manage to get kogi so here's my recipe: 950/950/950/950 with mouse ofuda and tsurumaru kuninaga as leader :) initially i thought i got jiji (because 4:00 timer) but it was kogi :") (aint complaining)
anyway i know many have been through hell just to obtain kogitsunemaru so all the best, my fellow saniwas!
