Many uneventful things happened before past dipper and Mabel left for gravity falls. Their birthday was the most eventful thing. Currently dipper was following them close behind. As gravity falls came into view Dipper felt the barriers magic energy. As past dipper and Mabel entered future Dipper stayed back just outside the barrier. Dippers mind then began to race with information as he looked at the barrier. The design was meant to keep magical beings in, not out. Dipper put his hand through the barrier, before he tried to pull it back out. Putting his hand through the barrier seemed to be very easy, pulling it out? That was a whole other story. It felt like he was pulling several tons along with his hand. It felt like his hand was gonna be torn off just before he pulled it outside the barrier. Dipper fell to ground and grasped his hand. It hurt like hell. Slowly dipper got back up and looked at the barrier. Currently it was a one way trip. Maybe in the future when he gets stronger he might be able to push his way through more easily. But for the foreseeable future if Dipper went in, he wouldn't be coming out. Dipper then looked at the barrier again just before he stepped through. What else could he do. The future depended on Dipper now more then ever. It was as the dream demon of the future said. Time isn't set in stone. So if Dipper didn't do anything the entire future would be in danger because of bill. As dipper flew towards the mystery shack he contemplated stopping bill's plan to enter this dimension. After a while he threw that idea out. If he did that there's no telling what kind of time paradox might unfold. After all it's because bill entered this dimension that dipper became a dream demon himself. Deciding that for now he'd just stick with past him, all the while knocking over some dominoes that caused important events.
For the next year Dipper influenced everything. These things included drawing the Gremlobin to past dipper, drawing the gremlobin away from past dipper, causing past dipper to see past Pacifica at the mall, getting the school bad boy James walker to go after Pacifica causing past dipper to save her, sadly dipper also caused the escape of Preston northwest and the confrontation between dipper and Preston. Dipper also got rid of the extra evidence past dipper couldn't deal with. Dipper was happy though when he found that it was Pacifica's choice to be a protector rather then dipper influencing her. But as school ended for past dipper and summer began dipper decided to change other things. Starting with that Charles guy.
It was the day that dipper met Charles. But this time Dream Demon Dipper was gonna interfere in something he didn't previously. For several reasons. One. He needed to know just how time works. If it isn't set in stone then he can not only cause previous events that had happened but also cause events that didn't happen and thus change the future.
Dipper found the limo that brought Charles originally. It was on the road to Pacifica's this very moment. Dipper readied himself and stood to the side of the road. As the limo came closer and closer, Dipper moved so he was in the limos way and using magic he scared the driver. This caused the limo to wreck. The front end crashed into a tree totaling the vehicles engine. The driver was fine. He had some cuts and bruises but he'd live. Charles then opened the door and crawled out. He looked around and saw dipper.
"What the hell?" He asked. Dipper walked forward. He then grabbed Charles by his suit.
"Bill isn't here to help you." Dipper said.
"Who?!" Charles asked confused. What made it more confusing was that dipper knew he wasn't lying. He didn't know who bill was. Which meant that he hadn't met bill yet. Dipper then grabbed his head allowing Dipper to enter Charles mindscape. It was a twisted place. Probably due to Charles mental instability. Dipper then locked his memories away and erased the memories of Pacifica and the northwest family. This would make it seem like he just had a serious case of amnesia from the accident. Then using some magic he knew, dipper transferred the events of the wreck to another place. The car wreck now had happened by the woods of town. As he finished up dipper got a massive headache and fell to his knees as new memories appeared alongside the memories of the original time. When it was over dipper found himself looking at the ground. Was that what happened when you changed something in the past? Honestly it wasn't so bad. Charles didn't seem to have a massive impact on Dipper. Only things that changed were that Charles didn't appear at the mansion and he wasn't the priest of Bill. Whatever Charles did further in the future as the priest of bill didn't matter anymore because Dipper never experienced it and will not be able to tell the difference. The new priest was just a random follower of bill. After this dipper decided to be a bit more cautious about what he changed. Experiencing the changes in the timeline was very unpleasant, and he definitely didn't want to do it again. The rest of the time dipper merely watched the events unfold. But it wasn't until after they all left that for the future with an unconscious human dipper that dream demon dipper began to plan seriously.
As bill started walking after he destroyed the barrier he stopped mid-step. Being the powerful dream demon he was, he sensed something was off. Turning around he looked at his surroundings. His servant beside him looked at his master.
"Master? Is something wrong?" He asked bill.
"No. I just thought that for a moment someone else was there. But it seems I was mistaken." Bill said before he turned around and started walking again. "Now then, where was I?" Bill asked.
"You said you wanted an island in the Atlantic." His servant replied.
"Oh right. I thought that we could chill out and relax while we wait for the prophecy to come to us." Bill said.
"But how will it come to us?" His servant asked.
"Isn't it obvious? Stan has a time machine. Meaning he's been to the future where the prophecy is common knowledge. When he gets back I'll just take a peek inside the old farts mind and find the prophecy. If it's not there I'll just send you or one of the others to the future and get it for me. Then we can get to work with no more distractions or obstacles in my way. I can finally take care of business." Bill said. He and servant then flew away thanks to bills magic. When he disappeared a owl hooted. This owl was pure silver with blue flecks and had bright blue pupils. While this wasn't dipper, it was connected to him. This beautiful silver female barn owl was actually dippers familiar. A magical beast that only he could summon. There were many perks to having a familiar, for one he could see and hear everything the familiar did so it was great for listening in on conversations. Getting a familiar wasn't that hard either. All you had to do was establish a connection with an animal. Any animal. Dipper had found this owl as a hatchling after she fell out of her nest. Taking her in dipper took care of her before making her his familiar. It was amazing, because before she was only 12 grams (meaning she was a runt) and was just a ball of fluff that couldn't fly. Afterwards though she was a giant sized silver barn owl at 18 inches and weighed a good 3 pounds making her much larger and heavier then any other barn owl found in America. She was also strong enough to fight and fend off large predators that would normally kill an adult owl. Dipper hypothesized that his familiars new found size and incredible strength was derived from dippers vast magical power. After she became his familiar dipper had to name her so thinking for a while he eventually settled on the name Noctua after the owl constellation. As dippers nickname comes from a constellation dipper found the name to be fitting. Thanks to noctua dipper knew that bill wasn't going to be hibernating now and he knew bills plan to get the prophecy faster. However he also knew that the dream demon from the future had set up some serious security against people learning the prophecy from the future designed for a plan like bills. So as of know dippers plan was simple. Find the library of arsdkpdrt. Just as dipper thought about this ford and the others all returned from the future. Turning noctua, dipper looked down at them as they talked amongst each other, with the fairy, and then realized that dipper wasn't there.
"Yeah. Yeah your probably right. He wouldn't forget about us." Pacifica Said. She then looked around again but more calm now. "We just might have to wait a little while for him to come back." Pacifica Said. Dipper looked at her sadly. Now that he was no longer human dipper felt like pulling her into this would be severely dangerous for her and how exactly would this work. Dipper was a dream demon now and she was a human, he couldn't turn her into a dream demon either because he wasn't powerful enough, and he didn't know if his mentor would be willing to make a deal to make her one. Even if he was willing what would it cost her. Dipper got off easy. She might not get as good of a deal as he made. In the end dippers ultimate decision had been to leave her out of what's to come. So taking a moment to look at Pacifica, dipper used it to memorize every little detail of her as possible. He wanted to remember her like this. Who knows what will happen and if dipper will ever see her again. Dipper then had noctua leave and head to the wrecked remains of the mystery shack. There was something in that wreckage dipper sorely needed.
At the moment dippers power was power was insufficient and nowhere near the level he needed to beat bill. So over the past months since dippers arrival he's been searching for a way to find the library as fast as he could. During his studies of magic and the laws of the universe he learned about alternate dimensions. Think of it like this. The universe is a thick stack of papers. Each single piece of paper is a dimension. And each one is stacked upon the others in layers. The current dimension where dipper and the others reside is a dimension somewhere near the top of the stack actually. Dream demons originate from the second highest dimension and are one of the most powerful species of the universe. Sadly however that is the past, as there was a genocide of the entire race only leaving two dream demons left. Bill and one other unknown dream demon. Dipper believed that this other dream demon was the one from the future but he had no evidence. Dipper also believed bill was the one behind the mass genocide. Something about it said that bill was related in someway or other. To access one dimension you'd need help from inside the dimension as the only connection that's constantly open between dimensions is the mindscape. So think of that part like a glass door to a room with a lock on the inside and outside. To go through the door and go from one dimension to the other you'd need it to be unlocked from both sides. The glass of the door is like the window that is the mindscape. It gives the inhabitants of both dimensions the ability to converse with each other while staying within their own dimensions. Now all this knowledge wouldn't help dipper find a way to get to the library until you learn about the interdimensional rifts. A interdimensional rift is what remains of the gateway between dimensions. Now normally these would act as smaller gateways that are more unstable and unpredictable, but they could be used for so much more. Like say.... a map to the entire dimension. When noctua arrived he found bill there as well. What was he doing here? Dipper thought he was going to some tropical island.
"Master. Why did we return to the remains of this place?" The acolyte asked.
"Because. Among this rubble is a interdimensional rift. It's a dangerous thing and if I don't find it now who knows what could come through after me." Bill said.
"Why does that matter Master? You are the most powerful being in all the dimensions." The acolyte said giving bill praise.
"I do not need to explain myself to you." Bill said. Just then bill found the dimensional rift. "Ahh. There you are." Bill said. Bill then started chanting. When he finished chanting, the dimensional rift was then sealed within a clear orb. The rift was like a mass of liquid floating in the center of the orb. "Alright. Now that I've sealed it away as long as i have it with me there is no more danger. Let's go." Bill said. He couldn't let bill take that. Taking action noctua swooped down. Being an owl, noctua was utterly silent on her approach to bill and since noctua was dippers familiar she was much faster then any other bird around. So bill was completely surprised when a silver owl grabbed the orb with the space rift. Immediately dippers owl made a break for it. Flying as fast as she possibly could. Bill however wasn't about to let some owl take the rift. He raised his arm and used magic to shoot at the familiar. noctua narrowly avoided the attack before trying to get away again. Seeing that his attack missed bill decided to chase after the silver owl. Noctua flew down into the trees to take cover. Dipper needed a plan. His owl landed on his shoulder after dropping the orb in his hand. Hiding behind a tree dipper had the hood of his coat up to hide a lot of his features save for his piercing eyes. He then watched from the shadows as bill entered the forest. He looked around.
"Where did you go you little flying rodent!" Bill said clearly upset. While hiding behind the tree dipper began to silently prepare a spell. After it was almost ready dipper stepped out from behind the tree.
"Bill cypher." Dipper said. Bill turned and saw dipper. Once he saw the blue eyes bill froze.
"That's not possible." He said. His face began to change to that of fear. Dipper could see it behind bills yellow eyes and pitch black irises. "There's no way you got over here that fast!" Bill said. Dipper narrowed his eyes. He must have mistaken dipper for someone else. But who could scare bill this much. Bill then thought for a moment and used logic. Calming down. "Your not him... it's impossible that your him cause there is no way he could have gotten over here in such a short time span after I came through." Bill said slightly relieved.
"I wonder what it is that scares you, bill." Dipper said. He then finished his spell. A circle appeared underneath his feet and dipper fell right on through taking his familiar and the interdimensional rift. Bill couldn't have stopped it if he wanted, he had no time to stop the spell as it had been a complete surprise. Glaring at the spot where the mysterious dream demon disappeared through he thought to himself.
"Could someone else have survived what he did? No. No one else could have survived that and he didn't even know who I mistook him for.... then where did this one come from? And what did he want with the interdimensional rift?" Bill questioned. It couldn't have been to bring 'HIM' cause this new player didn't know who 'HE' was.
"Are we going to give chase master?" Bills servant asked.
"No. Whatever his intentions are with that interdimensional rift. They do not interfere with my plans." Bill said.
"So then off to a tropical island, Master?" The servant asked. Bill looked at where the disguised dipper disappeared.
"You know what. Change of plans. We're staying here. This new dream demon has intrigued me. We will watch his movements as closely as possible." Bill said.
"Very Good Master." The servant said. Bill then flew away with his servant in tow.
