Prologue

It's weird to think about how much the world has changed in just a few years. It's weird to think just how much I have changed too. Looking at the picture on dresser in mine and Cory's room makes me think of our time in high school. The picture itself was taken not long after Cory's mother had died. We had spent almost the entire night sitting at the roof of Cory's house. It was when we were becoming more serious about each other. Those days were not always easy, but most of the time we were happy. Days like that are fewer between now, but I know I have more than most people do. I have Cory by my side. We take life one day at a time and we never know just how long we have left. With the state that the world is in, anything could happen. Today, tomorrow, or in a year from now. I find myself wishing we still lived in a simpler world. A world where we were just high school kids trying to find their place in the world.
