(n) lovesickness or sense of yearning or longing for love
origin ; turkish root

Blake, Pyper, Phoenix, and I were currently sitting in Haagen Dazs on South Beach. We're seated in a booth, Phoenix and I sitting next to each other, and Blake and Pyper sitting across from us. I'm not really certain about what's going on between Phoenix and I, there's definitely a spark, but neither of us- I don't know. Our date at Pier 31 was amazing and being with Phoenix made it all the more magical. Every night, I go to bed thinking about the way it felt with his arm around my waist, keeping me pulled close against his body as we walked along the boardwalk. He was perfect and I knew I loved him. I was wild and reckless with my emotions and being with Phoenix is bringing out the realest and rawest emotions in me yet.

What I am certain about however is the secret relationship between Pyper and Talon. Well Blake and I found out at the same time, but we'll say I found out first. Given, Pyper and Talon don't exactly know that we know, but hey, that's our secret about their secret.

Sitting besides me is Phoenix, dressed in white swim trunks, shirtless, and sports sunglasses perched on his head. He has on a perfect smile, showcasing his white pearls, looking striking with his nose piercing and ring. I'm dressed in a bright yellow Triangl bikini top and Nike track shorts. There's a walrus tooth necklace dangling from my neck along with Lokai bracelets stacked on my arms. Pyper had on a neon blue Triangl bikini top and hot pink track shorts. And she was eye-catching with her wild pink hair. Blake was shirtless as well, just wearing beach shorts and had a volleyball under his arm. Was it obvious we were hanging at the beach earlier?

A waiter comes over and I see a smirk playing on Blake's lips as we order. I know exactly what's gonna happen. The waiter couldn't make it anymore obvious that he wanted me with his blunt flirtations directed at me.

"You can't get his numero before we leave," Blake challenges as soon as the waiter leaves us.

"I can't," I question, smirking. Challenge accepted, Blakey Boy.

"What the fuck," Phoenix muttered, angrily. I felt him tense up beside me and I knew he was silently fuming when I turned my head slightly and our eyes met. I glance over to see Blake looking smug as ever. Asshole set this up. So apparently, it was obvious to everyone but Phoenix and I that we were in love. And the two of us were oblivious, so every chance our friends got, they played us.

We conversed easily, laughing and throwing our heads back as we talked endlessly. Pyper shares a story of Phoenix when they were younger and Phoenix wraps his arm around my waist as we all get thrown into another fit of laughter. And the gesture most definitely does not go unnoticed by his siblings.

"Ooh, Adri," Pyper winks.

"Get it, little brother," Blake whistles. I felt my face flush and I turn my head into his chest, hiding. Phoenix, on he other hand, throws his head back laughing.

The waiter returns and I quickly pull away from Phoenix, eliciting a growl from the back of his throat.

"Hi," I smile charmingly as the young boy. Why do I agree to these things?

Phoenix gets jealous, that much is made obvious, as he once again wraps his arm around my exposed midriff, tighter this time and pulls me flush against his shirtless chest.

The waiter didn't care the slightest as he smiled, showing his perfectly straight teeth. "Adrianna, are you single?" He asked with a smirk. Blake and Pyper stifle a laugh and Phoenix tenses against me. Hilarious.

"Actually, yes," I say confidently.

"The fuck," Phoenix growled against my ear. The waiter raised an amused eyebrow, "Really? Cause the boy beside you doesn't seem to agree."

"Nah, he's just a really overprotective brother," I say with an innocent smile.

"Sibling zoned," Blake utters under his breath before laughing wholeheartedly.

"Oh, okay. Would you like to hang out one day?"

"Sure," I answer enthusiastically.

"Ahh okay, I'll give you my number. Just hold on," he walked off. I, along with Pyper just couldn't help it, "Darling, just hold on," we sang out loud. The boy returned with a small paper and a twinkle in his eye, "I'll catch you later beautiful, all of your orders will be out soon and I've got orders to make," he said with a half smile, half grin before walking away.

"Got it asshole," I snicker at Blake.

"Oh hell no," Phoenix growled. My head snaps in his direction, our eyes lock, our faces centimetres apart. My eyes widen and he moves closer, backing me into the corner of the booth until my back is pressed up against the window. One of his hands were pressed against the window beside my head and the other, he was bracing against he headrest of the booth. He was basically covering me, basically on top of me.

"What the hell are you doing?" He asking in a dark voice, quiet enough for just the two of us to hear.

"N-nothing," I whisper.

"You. Are. Mine," his voice dipped a few octaves. His eyes turned dark and I grew lost.

"I-I, what?" My voice a whisper.

"Yes babygirl. You're mine and no one else's."

"No I'm not," I fought back quietly. It was a turn on for him, evident with the growing bulge in his trunks. What I was slowly realising was that he loved watching me watch him under my long black lashes. He loved when I gave him shit. When I had an attitude and bit back at him.

"Yes, you are," he said through gritted teeth and I was sure my face was crimson.

"No, I-" and I was stopped short when his warm, soft lips were smashed against mine. We moved ferociously, his siblings across from us long forgotten. His hands moved from caging me to one behind my neck and the other around my waist, pulling me flush against his body. I let out a soft moan in his mouth - not that I could stop myself - and I felt him smirk against my lips. He bit my lower lip softly and pulled it into his mouth, "Mine," he growled softly.

When we pulled away, we were breathing hard, our lips swollen, our chests rising and falling visibly fast. I felt Pyper and Blake stare at us, wide eyed, jaws dropped to the floor and looking over at them, the shock was well written on their faces. Oh my god!

I felt him burning me with his gaze, but do I want to see his expression of regret, anger? The past weeks have only been about stolen kisses, almost kisses, and then him not being able to look at me after.

Curiosity kill the cat right?

But satisfaction brought it back to life, another voice said.

Slowly, I turned my head and my breath hitched in my throat when our eyes locked. His eyes were dark and his cheeks were, pink? Though you could barely see, it was barely visible, I saw some pain written on his face, he looked vulnerable.

I waited anxiously for him to say sorry, or walk away, something! But he sat there, staring at me, lips slightly parted. And I know Pyper and Blake were awaiting our next moves. Nothing happened though, we were all quiet and it was making me sick.

"D-do you regret it," I ask faintly.

His eyes blazed with fire, "The hell, Adrianna," he growled. I wasn't scared of him, I was just tired of his shit. This happened every time we kissed, or almost kissed for gods' sake.

"Well did you," I ask bitterly through gritted teeth. He looked taken aback, "N-no I didn't, he said quietly, looking down at his hands.

"Of fricken course you didn't," I retort sarcastically. I felt the reject and hurt coursing through my veins. Screw this.

"Get up," I said blankly. He looked at me and it was his turn to have shock well written on his face.

"W-what?"

"Get up," I shoved at his chest. I must've looked murderous because he looked threatened and got up. I slid out of the booth and stood up, glaring at him. I said through gritted teeth, "You are an absolute brooding bastard," and walked out.

I didn't know where I was going, but I needed to go somewhere. I wanted to cry too, but I couldn't. This is like the goddamn millionth time Phoenix has done this. Stolen kisses. Stolen touches. Stealing my heart. And sadly, I let him. I could feel myself shaking as I walked down the busy strip, my eyes burning with unshed tears. A part of me felt numb, I wanted to scream.

It wasn't until someone pulled me backwards and my back collided with a rock hard chest that I completely broke down. I hate how much I loved his scent, how much it made me feel like home. I knew he had been following me as soon as I walked out of Haagen, he was just giving me space before he caught me.

"Shh, baby, it's okay," he whispered in my ear. I felt so lost. I must've looked hysterical, mental even, crying like this in the middle of South Beach. I hated Phoenix Worthington, solely because he makes me feel alive and safe while also rejected and hurt. How does one have that much power over you to make you feel such things.

He turned me around and pulled me into his chest, his arms tightly wrapped around my trembling body. I opened my eyes slightly and caught a glimpse of both Pyper and Blake behind us. And to my surprise, they were both glaring at their brother.

I had stopped crying then, my head resting against his chest when he whispered, "I'll make it up to you, Adrianna. I promise," his voice holding desperation.

When I pulled back a little, so did his eyes, they lost it's little shine and grew dull and desolate.

"Oh-kay," I said shakily and pulled away from his hold some more. And he didn't seem to like it as he wrapped his arm tightly around my small waist and pulled me close against his body.

"Motherfucking asshole," Pyper muttered, coming next to me. Blake also stringed some incoherents about his brother behind me. Phoenix kept me close to his body and as we walked down the strip I most definitely didn't miss the dirty glares being sent my way. The glares of jealous girls wishing to be in my current spot.

I let them lead me, to wherever they were going. I was pretty emotionless but I couldn't help myself from leaning into Phoenix. "Let me take you out later, Adrianna. Just you and I, please," he murmured in my ear. Taken aback was putting it lightly, "I-I'll think about it," I whispered.

We walked into Carousels and Crepes, another coffee shoppe. Lovely. Of course Phoenix would know where to take me. We took a booth again and I slid in on one side, sitting next to the window, but not the Worthingtons. Phoenix was about to slide in next to me but Pyper tugged on his wrist, "I'd think twice about that, Phoenix," she said angrily.

"The hell are you doing, Pyper," he shot back in the same voice.

"You. Are. Not. Sitting next to her," she went off through gritted teeth.

"Since when the hell do you tell me what to do," he growled.

"Well, since you were an ass and made her cry," Blake intervened. Phoenix grew quiet and I knew what Blake said bothered him, it hit him hard.

"Fuck off," Phoenix said through gritted teeth and still slid in next to me.

"Goddamn bastard," Blake muttered and sat across from me with Pyper sitting next to him. No waiter came and we all just sat there taking in the silence. Well, until my phone went off.

hunter bazzi.

"Brudder!" I answered, trying to sound enthusiastic, but honestly, I failed miserably.

"What's wrong sis?" His voice filled with concern.

"Nada," I mumbled.

"Phoenix?" he questioned in a low voice.

"You already know," I mumbled again.

"This motherfucking son of a bitch," he said in a dangerously low voice.

"Just drop it," I sighed out, "What's up though?"

"Well, you see," he chuckled nervously, "What had happened was," he trailed.

"Hunter, get to the point or I'm driving over there and smacking you," I deadpanned, laughing.

"Just smack me?" I could hear the smirk in his voice.

"Nooo," I said dramatically, "I'm gonna come kiss you and fuck you," I said, rolling my eyes. Phoenix coughed beside me whilst Pyper and Blake looked taken aback.

"Ahh that sounds better," he said happily.

"Idiota," I coughed.

"Alright, seriously, what's wrong?"

"Okay remember Rosé?"

"How could I ever forget your bitchy fiancé?

"The bitch smacked me because I hugged you," I exclaim accusingly.

"I need you to help me call it off with her," he whined and I raise an eyebrow.

"Anything! What do you want me to do," I said more than happily.

"Uh, no se, you tell me. I need to call it off with her or give her a reason to call it off with me."

"Can't I just shoot her," I cough, smiling.

"Adriii, we don't want to kill her," he rushed out dramatically.

"Oh please!" I exclaim just as dramatic, "I could ruin that bitch and her company in seconds in a hundred different ways," I huff.

"Whoa?" Hunter was confused and it made me laugh. Even Phoenix, Pyper and Blake looked at me with raised eyebrows.

I scoff, "Please, just cause I gave you Vasiliev and Co, does not mean I can't take it right back. I can be the CEO, the heiress my father wanted me to be you know."

"Uh y-yeah right," Hunter stuttered.

"And I will take down Rosé and her company before you can imagine, just try me," I concluded confidently.

"Right," he said quietly, "We'd be a killer pair in the industry you know," he continued wistfully and I chuckled, "Oh wait, that's you and Phoenix," he said over enthusiastically.

"I will kill you," I closed my eyes and massaged my temples, "Did you tell dad about calling it off?"

"Yes! And do you know what he said?

"Go get Adri," and I burst out laughing.

"Aye you already know, I'm the most wanted out there," I burst out laughing. And then the perfect idea hit me but before I could speak, he spoke.

"I know you are, you're the most wanted by Phoenix."

"Keep talking and you can forget me helping.

"Hunter?"

"Yes?"

"I have an idea!

"Hypothetically."

"And that is?"

"Well theoretically," I wondered aloud.

"Well?"

"Well speaking rhetorically."

"Adrianna!"

"Oh hey Hunter."

"The idea, you goddamn idiot," he said anxiously.

"I mean," I trailed, "I guess I could be your whore for the night."

"Oh shit," he muttered.

"Think about it, really, we could pretend we're together and get her to walk in on us. Say you've been cheating. And I mean she could go run her mouth to the tabloids, and well, she'll see that she royally screwed herself when I take over her whole company," I said cheekily.

"Actually that sounds pretty good, Adri."

"Perfect! Now I just have to get a makeover," I mutter the last part.

"Don't worry, you're always sexy," and I could imagine him wink.

"Idiota! I'll call you back in a few hours."

"Catch you later sis."

"Okay, no, see, when you say it that way, it makes it sound like this is some incest shit," I wrinkle my nose.

"Sounds appealing, adios!" And he hung up. Oh! My! God!

"Pyper!" I snap my head in her direction.

"Yes?"

"I need a favour."

"Anything," she smiled.

"I need you to make me look like a complete slut for this evening." Her eyes were as wide as saucers.

"Hell no," Phoenix intervened. Fuck you.

"Phoenix, shut the actual hell up," I gritted out not even bothering to glance in his direction.

"Pyper, I need you to dress me up like a slut, whore, anything like that, for the night. We're gonna give Rosé a reason to break up with Hunter," I winked.

She grinned evilly, she hated the bitch just as much as I did.

f i v e o' c l o c k

We were in Pyper's room and she planned out to get me ready.

"We're the same size right?!" She screamed from her closet.

"Basically!"

"Aye, I found the perfect dress," she walked out her closet with a bloody red dress under a plastic covering. And that dress looked reaaally small.

"Well what are you waiting for? Get your arse in the bathroom!"

"Uh wha- oh right!"

Once I was done, I pulled on my undergarments and Pyper handed me the red dress. I pulled it on and stared at myself in the mirror; it was tight and brought out my curves. It made my collarbone look very prominent and somehow, the colour made me feel bold, made me look bold. And I loved it.

Walking out the bathroom, I saw Pyper laying out a whole bunch of makeup. She turned around and her jaw dropped, "Well, my dear, you look absolutely gorgeous."

"I don't even want to know why you have this dress," I laughed nervously. She rolled her eyes but laughed nonetheless, "Also, this dress, is terribly expensive. If you ruin it, I will ruin you."

My eyes widened this time, "Right, right."

She nodded her head happily before clapping her hands together once, "Come sit, time to make you look like a goddess."

"You know, you're supposed to make me look scandalous, right?"

"Well that's impossible for an angel like you," our eyes locked with each others and she gave me a warm smile.

She turned me around, away from the mirror and I knew Pyper the makeup artist was here. I wouldn't be able to see her work her magic until she was done; I'll only see the aftermath.

"Give me your phone," she ordered as she grabbed a brush and powder. I grabbed it off the vanity and unlocked it, handing it to her. She went through it for a moment before holding it to her ear.

"Hunt, hey it's Pyper," she laughed lightly, "Invite Rosé to your bachelor pad for eight o' clock for a private show. Adri shall see you then," and she hung up. Maybe she has this more planned than I thought?

One hour and fifty seven is what it took Pyper. One hour and fifty seven minutes.

"My butt hurts," I whine for the nth time.

"Annnd we're done," she exclaimed and put the brush down, "I'm leaving your hair to be messy to give it a look that you guys actually did something," she added.

"Ready to see Adri?"

"Should I be scared?" I look up at her and she rolled her eyes, shaking her head. She spun me around so I could see myself in the mirror and holy shit. I was literally glowing. Everything was done precisely to perfection. My eyes were striking with the thick eyeliner and wing coming out long and dark and smokey eyeshadow. The eyeshadow was something on its own, with a gradient of perfect blending from white to grey to black. The insides of my eyelids - near the bridge of my nose - had the white, and from there it blended into a pigeon grey and then a midnight black. And then there was a whole layer of glitter on top of it all. My highlights were smeared perfectly, on my cheekbones with a rosy pink, my jawline and chin with a bronze, inner corner of my eyes with gold, and the tip of my nose with white. The blush on my cheeks looked natural against my sun kissed skin and lastly my lips gave me the boldest look ever with it being a metallic garnet red lipstick.

"Give me that lipstick," I all but demanded at Pyper, "I'll use it on Hunter to give it a look that we actually did something," I repeated her words from earlier with a smirk. I threw that in my Kate Spade along with my phone and an extra pair of lacy maroon panties.

"You are not leaving here looking like that," Phoenix all but growled he caught sight of me descending the spiral staircase with Pyper.

"Don't try and stop me, Worthington."

§

"Phoenix was okay with this," Hunter pointed at me upon entering his bachelor pad, laughing obnoxiously.

"Well of course not, he threw his usual bitch fit but a little party never killed nobody I suppose?"

He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows, "You are just a whole different creature," he waved me off.

"Oh my god, Hunter, Rosé is going to be here in what? Fifteen minutes and here you are, dressed pristinely.

"God, Allah, Guru Nanak, help me please.

"Hunt, oh my god," I face palmed when he was still frozen in his spot, staring at me like a lost boy, "Take off your suit jacket, hurry," I exclaim, rushing into the kitchen to pour two glasses of whatever drink I could find. Hurriedly, I placed them on the small glass coffee table and letting them spill just a bit, I grabbed his suit jacket from his hand and threw it somewhere in the living room. The idea was to make the place look messy and clearly, Hunter did not know messy.

"Hunter come here," I whined.

"Are these one of your expensive dress shirts?"

"No, Adri," he laughed, shaking his head. Well he won't be laughing in two seconds.

"Perfect," and with that I pulled out the red lipstick and streaked it on his crisp white shirt. And then I smeared it with my thumb.

"You did not just," he gasped, feigning shock.

"It'll look like we actually were together," I scoffed, my hands going to his hair now, running through it, ruffling it, completely ruining it.

"Oh shit, she's coming up the elevator Adri," Hunter read off his phone when it dinged with a new message. I pulled his hand toward the leather couch he had and took a seat.

"You better make this seem real, Bazzi," I grunted as I pulled out the lacy lingerie and threw it on the love seat next to us, letting it lie sprawled out.

"Real? Oh, I can most certainly do real, Vasiliev," he smirked all too knowingly. In one quick movement, he gripped my exposed upper thigh as the dress had ridden up and his other hand went to cup the back of my neck. My head tilted back as I gasped, not expecting him to do that and his bent his head lowly, eliciting another gasp from me as I felt his hot breath on neck, on top my my cleavage.

And that is exactly how she found us, with my head tilted up in the air, lips slightly parted, eyes closed, and Hunter practically on top of my body.

"You fucking cunt," she stated through gritted teeth in a low and dark voice.

———

the ending has to be one of my absolute favourites. and thoughts on adrianna "hoeing" around?

disclaimer | no this does not mean a thing between hunter and adrianna. this was purely her helping him. there are no assumptions to be made by the reader, it is as it is plainly written, they do not kiss or have sex in any way. the furthest they go is hunter's hand gripping her thigh and his head "buried" in her cleavage. but even to that, he's not touching her the slightest, he's just close enough for her to feel his breathing.
