✱︎ Please interact so I don't feel like I'm making tutorial for a wall. You can literally comment an emoji and I will recieve the reassurance I need lmao. ✱︎

ALSO AS I POST THIS THERE IS 99.7K READS ON THIS. WHATT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUTTT. As a result, I am going to take some cover requests :)) I'll put a whole cover request thingy so don't comment it here, don't worry. I'm probably going to leave it up for like a couple of hours or maybe a whole day and then close it and take some requests there. Okay, I'm talking way too much. I'll say my thank you's in the request page <33

OKAY ENOUGH TALKING. LETS START.

For this tutorial I'm teaching you guys how to make a cover like this:

When I was making this, I honestly did not know how it would end up until  the exact end because I didn't really know what I was try to make. I was just going with the flow.

• • • Let's Begin • • •

What You'll Need.
- At least two photos of your choice. One for the background. The others can be of the people/things you want on your cover. You can have as much photos as you want.
- Superimpose.
- Phonto.
- Afterlight.

Just a PSA: you don't need Afterlight. You just need an app that helps you edit it photos whether it's Afterlight, VSCO, or any other app. I just want to make sure I make that known so you don't think it's an absolute must.

Step One.
Gather your photos. If you want a cohesive look, find your photos of the people/things you want then find the background so then it all meshes together. This is much easier than finding background first then finding the people.

If you'd like more tips on where to find HQ photos of people, let me know!

So, find your photos. Get options. Some may work better than others. With the background photo, I recommend editing it first. Also, if it's lower quality, just add some grain and you're good.

Step Two.
Now that you've gathered your photos, go to Superimpose and set this black photo () as your background and your background photo of choice as your foreground. Then just "blow up" the photo so it fits onto the background. Merge the photos when done.

Step Three.
Next, take one of your photos of choice and set it as the foreground. Place it where you want and then press Mask. Then click the gradient box.

Step Four.
Drag your finger across the screen to create the box. You will see that it creates a gradient on the bottom of your photo, like so:

Merge the photo when done. Also, save the photo just in case you mess up or want to change something later.

Step Five.
Add the second photo of your choice as the foreground. Repeat step four and select the gradient box and do it to any part of the photo you'd like.

Notice how I tilt the box. I don't have a real explanation as to why I do it, but I like it more than just have it straight.

When I'm done doing the box, I 10/10 recommend using the blur mask option. It makes the edges of the gradient a lot softer.

Another thing I like to do is change the mask tool to the paintbrush, press the top right button and change the settings.

I put the brush size up as well as the smoothness and click the soft brush box. With this you can erase anything of the photo lightly. If you click the eraser, you can add whatever you erased.

Play with it and when you're done merge and then save the photos.

I put the second photo a little up leaving space for moving credits — because if you didn't know, I love me some movie credits.

This is similar to what you should have so far:

Step Six.
Now that you've saved the photo, go on to Afterlight or whichever editing app you use and edit it a bit. I like to do this before I add the text and adds ons because when you edit after, it may change the color of the text. I'm not here for that.

So, edit your photo and save it when done.

Here's a little before and after the editing:

Nothing too drastic, but enough to make a difference. I played with the exposure, contrast, added grain, and then add a dusty effect.

Step Seven.
Now all you have to do is add the text and any adds ons that you'd like. On Phonto, play with the stroke and shadow of text. It can really add a difference to the text.

Fonts Used.

"New Love"

"I don't wanna waste no time..."
"Want somewhere to go..."
"Kendall Jenner"
"Justin Bieber"

"Secutegrxnde"

"Presents..."

Add Ons.

Final Product.
