A light tap on the shoulder woke Emoriah, from her deep slumber. She looked up in alarm and slight disgust, as she felt the salty stickiness of her check peel away from the window.

A gorgeous blonde woman in a white little dress stood in the aisle peering down at her.

"Miss, sorry to wake you. But the plane has landed."

Emoriah swallowed thickly her thin saliva itching the back of her parched throat.

What she needed was a glass of water.

"Thank you for waking me." She manages out from her chapped lips. She smiled in satisfaction from not sounding like a dying cat.

She wouldn't like to be scaring people away the first day here.

"It is my pleasure, Miss. Now here is your luggage, and the exit is that way. May I wish you a swell time here in Australia!"

The woman answered, with practiced grace pointing to the exit way. Emoriah stood up being careful not to slam her head on the ceiling and took her luggage from up above.

..

To say Emoriah wasn't nervous to see her Aunt was an understatement. She felt her fingers working on their own moving to a beat on her luggage as if it would calm down her racing heart.

Jane Green was like her mother's twin they had the same soft green eyes, freckles dashed on their noses and the similar red hair that Emoriah fortunately inherited.

Emoriah scanned the crowd looking for her aunt, but the crowd was thick and pushed her back and forth in a fraternizing manner.

"My, oh my! You have become such a beaut Emmy! I can't even believe my eyes." A voice crooned from behind her.

Emoriah stapled her feet to the ground as not to fall over and looked over her shoulder to see her aunt smiling up at her. Yes, her aunt was exactly as the picture portrayed her. The younger version of her mother. Yet only slightly tanner.

"Aunt Jane! Hi." She mumbled frowning, as another passerby shoved her in a hurry.

Jane tsked under her breath and grabbed Emoriah's arm "Let's get you home dear. I bet you are just exhausted." Emoriah smiled softly.

A nap wouldn't hurt.

..

Her aunt's old Chevy pickup truck bumped down the rocky road of Robinson street, as should I stay or should I go now blasted from the radio.

Her aunt bopped her head to the music singing out as the chorus played on. Emoriah smiled to herself. Her aunt was more similar to a teen than an actual adult. And it was like a fresh breath of air.

"Emmy. I think you will like the house it's a few steps from the beach, plus I decorated your room. Took forever but it ought to be something you'll enjoy!"

Emoriah thanked her and hopped out of the truck as it pulled up to stop. The house was a gorgeous country styled with wooden planks holding up an archway attached to the porch.

The hot sun beating from above gleamed against the bright windows sending a blazing intense glare into Emoriah's eyes.

Emoriah raised a hand to blind out the glare but there was no hope, as she glanced down getting a face full of hot heat emanating from the brick pathway.

Blast!

Emoriah closed her eyes in pain and grabbed her bags from the back of her truck.

This was definitely not rainy London.

Taking a deep breath of the humid hot air she followed her Aunt inside the house. Cold welcomed AC blasted from the top panels of the house, cooling the sweat streaming from Emoriah's brow.

Emoriah ran her fingers through the knots of her curly hair slightly disgusted, as the curls near her forehead stuck to her hands in damp mangles.

Her aunt led her inside and opened the second door in the hallway. "This is your room. I'll let you get situated," she said, with a smile.

Emoriah looked around in wonder. The room was exquisite. It's clean white pristine walls held two mirrors one placed by the bed and the other hanged over the dresser.

The tall bed by the window was covered with silk pink comforters and plushy pillows giving the room a slight glow of color.

Emoriah walked into another separate room and was startled at the sight of the walk-in bathroom including a full bathtub and shower.

Boggled Emoriah sat down on the smooth silken sheets of the bed and ran her fingers over the intricate design's stitched upon its surface.

She could get used to this.

Reaching over the bed she grabbed her bag and pulled it up to the bed beside her. At her struggle, the flap of her duffle fell aside, and her father's chest came tumbling out finally stopping against her lap.

Curiosity mingled her thoughts, as she studied the distinctive object before her. Opening it slowly she wrapped her thin finger around the fiery red necklace and pulled it up closer to her eyes.

It gleamed softly against the warm light above entrancing her in an inquiring way, as she snapped it around her neck. It fell against her flat chest in a comforting way.

Her troubles from before and anger she held over her mother dissolved the longer she stared at it.

Looking down into the chest she raised an eyebrow in familiarity. On the inside of the chest was a carved metal groove the same engraved shape that was printed upon her wall back at her house in London.

She played with her necklace in puzzlement, before leaning down and gracing the necklace against the metal groove.

The fiery stone on the necklace burned brightly, as it warmed her fingers that were wrapped around its frame. She almost dropped her necklace back to her chest but stopped when a small chime like clicking noise filled the air.

The chest clicked open revealing another hidden level behind its wooden layers. Reaching in she pulled out a small leather pouch. Her fingers rubbed the soft fabric in excitement, as she felt her heart quicken in a soft beat.

Could this be it? An answer to all her questions?

Untying the frayed cord that held the content within from spilling out she reached in and grasped the objects smooth cold surface.

Immediately bitter cold defeat swelled in her chest at the disappointing sight in front of her. Closing her eyes angrily she swiped at the resentful un-shed tears swimming in her eyes.

For laying in her palm sat a flipping rock.
