Fic title: Leading Detectives On
Y/N's POV
I had a problem.
Okay, calling it a problem might be an overstatement, but it's a problem for me.
Here's some context - Hi, I'm Y/N L/N, the SHSL Tutor.
Hope's Peak was kind enough the accept me into the prestigious courses it offered, however euphoria from being accepted soon ebbed away into a mild irritation. The second I stepped onto the grounds and revealed my Ultimate people would be begging me to do work for them. They were most definitely confused what the word 'tutor' meant.
It was a normal day in f/s (favourite subject) and I was relaxing, doing my work, doing my thing. That's when Kokichi took initiative to come over to my desk.
"Heya Y/N!" He chirped enthusiastically. "Can you meet me after school today at the gates? I was hoping we could practice f/s together at my place. It's pretty difficult if you ask me." He scratched the back of his neck for emphasis, a trick I'd seen used to get my sympathy a lot.
"Okay, but you have to actually listen and contribute."
"I'd listen to anything you say, Y/N." He giggled, and I felt myself go slightly red. He was probably kidding around, so I chuckled the awkwardness away.
"Ha ha, okay then, I'll see you later."
"Bye, see you then!" As quickly as he'd appeared at my desk he was gone, on the other side of the classroom and scribbling furiously in his notebook.
"Um, hey, can I borrow a pencil?"
I recognised the slightly meek voice in an instant.
"Oh, sure Shuichi, here."
I took a pencil from my pocket and handed it to him.
"Thanks. I was hoping that we could revise for the upcoming f/s test together? You seem pretty good at it. N-not that I watch you or anything!"
"Well, since the test is pretty soon it might be best if we all went over to Kokichi's? He asked for a tutor session this evening so you could come along?"
"That sounds..." He paused, searching my gaze for any trace of emotion, "Nice."
"Cool, I'll update Kokichi when I can."
"Awesome."
Shuichi's POV
I was excruciatingly nervous, to say the least. I'd always liked Y/N, since she was both intelligent and quite cute. You could joke around with her, too. Like a less strict Ishimaru.
However, I knew that Kokichi was pining for them too. He doesn't care for his exams since 'supreme leaders' like himself 'shouldn't have to do such trivial tasks'.
I suppose it was for the best that I kept an eye on Oma.
As expected, when we showed up to his place he was hardly enthralled.
"Ah, Y/N, come on in." He smiled warmly, ignoring me as I trudged in after the SHSL Tutor.
He lead us up to his room, which was unsurprisingly filled with shades of purple and Panta. There was a plate of cookies on his bed, and myself and Y/N took a seat on his couch which was in the corner. Kokichi soon joined us, since it was a four-seater and could fit him on, and we all got our textbooks out.
Y/N definitely deserved their Ultimate - even as I was focussed on Kokichi's antics they remained in their professional manner. I actually did learn quite a lot about f/s.
"Sorry, Oma, where's your bathroom?"
"Through the corridor, third door on the left."
"Okay, thanks, I'll be right back."
Oh God.
The inevitable conversation between myself and Kokichi wouldn't go smoothly, that's for sure.
Kokichi's POV
I had an idea.
Of course I knew that Shuichi was smitten over Y/N, but I had to get to them first.
"Hey, Saihara, I'm getting some more Panta from the kitchen." I said, getting up and excusing myself.
His eyes narrowed with suspicion, and he said, "Okay, I'll come with."
"No, no, it's really fine."
"Please, I insist."
Asshole.
"Okay, Saihara, I'm going to be straight with you. I like Y/N, so back off and let me win."
"Why should I? What if they maybe prefers me over you?"
The room went deadly silent.
"Hey guys, sorry for taking so long." Y/N commented, stepping into my room. They sensed the tension. "Uh... what's going on?"
"Marry me!" I blurted out, taking their dominant hand and getting down on one knee.
"What?! Kokichi, we're in High School!"
"I know, but I don't want the SHSL Dork over there taking you away from me!"
"Wait... you both like me?"
"Yes!" We said in unison.
Kokichi's Ending (Y/N's POV)
"Uh, Kokichi?"
"Yes?!"
"I'll take you on a date, but we're definitely not getting married yet."
Kokichi cheered and pecked me on the cheek. "Sorry, Shuichi, you may be hot but Y/N wants moi! I can hardly blame her though~"
Shuichi nodded, pulling his hat down and saying that it would probably be for the best if he took his leave.
Shuichi's Ending (Y/N's POV)
"K-Kokichi, get off of my hand!" I said, violently shaking my hand to get the short student off of me. "I want to go on a date with Shuichi, okay? I'm sorry."
Shuichi's dull blue eyes lit up. "Really?"
"Yes, honestly."
Kokichi, being Kokichi, told us to get out and get a room, to which we both blushed and found ourselves exchanging numbers.
It was a nice note to end on.
