maxine 'max' baker was a peculiar. her sarcastic but serious, feisty but kind personality wasn't the only thing that caught the attention of others. she could make herself, other objects and even people become invisible, as well as create force fields from thin air.
invisible boy millard nullings was intrigued by her. ever since miss peregrine arrived with her in their loop all those years ago, he had watched her. they became friends quite quickly– something about them just clicked. maybe it was their shared passion for books, their love of music, or how she could see him if she put in enough energy. it felt nice to him, knowing he wasn't truely invisible to her eyes.
years and years after max arrived, jacob portman appears, thinking they had all died in a bombing. he changes the lives of the peculiar children at miss peregrines home for good.
